we all know with the recent changes to the friends list has become annoying

First you have account or character friends which is ok but why would you want to become friends with a character when it’s the player of the account you want to become friends

And when you send an invite you have to wait for the player to accept which is ok

But in the old system when you wanted to be friends with someone you automatically were accepted which worked well as you could add players you wanted to avoid as well

The changes I would like to propose are these two :-

Make all friends requests account requests but give the player who you want to be friends with the option to accept as a character or account acceptance

Add a second list for enemy’s so we can track them the same as the old lists

I like the current version mostly.

My proposal would be this.

Add an option to "follow" people whether they be friends, enemies whatever. These people would show up on a separate list (tab).

When you follow someone, they get a notification, they can then either ignore it (leaving you off their list but you continue to follow them), accept as character (become friends with the character), or accept as account (become friends with the account)

This opens the door for stalkers again. With ernzor's version, the target would know they're being stalked, but wouldn't be able to do anything about it.  :(

Another thing that is annoying is when you afk for a wile and come back  to spam on your chat of all your friends switching servers. Really? If a friend messages you when afk, you never see their whisper, lul? :(

When inviting players to friend list I use just account request...

Why this only for character friend request even exists? For fake friends who later can cheat you or this is worst your enemy? :D

I not need enemies in my friend list. :(

greetings players,

two things that would be useful imho.

1) if i right-click on a player in my friends list i would like to see the "/where" command in the context menu.

2) we are able to use /dnd (do not disturb)... why not add /afk? makes sense imo.

:D

Or just open /afk command on ESC button in game menu. Not better? :D

it would also be nice to know when a friend has connected the last time in game ... in a tooltip , it would be powerful.

I'm guessing you haven't seen the new friends list.  There have been a number of improvements, and both your requests have been addressed.

Can now only add friends that accept the invitation.  So friends are always both ways.

If you add the friend at account level (as opposed to only the specific alt) it shows any alt on with the main in parenthesis.  The friends list now also works across servers.
