I just thought I should see what players would think of having EPIC Chests as reward for the ladder, as simple as it is, just the same Epic Chests that we got for Pillow Fighting Seasons. It can have two options to be handed out :-

â–¶Add it to the ladder reward page, the price can be talked about
â–¶Or we can have like 3 Chests handed out after each reset for each ladder range:

First Place gets the best Epic Chests, Second Place gets a less powerful Crystalline Chest and Third Place gets even less powerful Super Elite Chest, nothing for 4th place and beyond.

This is of course in addition to the ladder Tockens we get.

-This may not be the best idea but its the simplest thing that came across my mind that can be added fast enough and doesn't need years to make, I am not asking for new Sets, just a simple thing, so what does everyone think ?

I don't think seeing chests added that you can purchase with tokens would be too bad. I would think the chests would be bound, and possibly slightly less powerful/duration than the Seasons chests - would you agree with that? 

 

I know that the idea of "epic" chests added to the Ladder reward page was already talked about on other threads, but I think it could have a possibility to be added.

IMO it should be as powerful as the season chests, we got 12 Epic Chests for just throwing stam around for a week with no XP loss or durability loss, so definitely for a ladder where you lose TONS of XP, FSPs, gold, Stamina, an Epic Chest would be the least to get

IMO it should be as powerful as the season chests, we got 12 Epic Chests for just throwing stam around for a week with no XP loss or durability loss, so definitely for a ladder where you lose TONS of XP, FSPs, gold, Stamina, an Epic Chest would be the least to get

idk about you but i lost around 10 lvls before xp loss was removed from seasons...I spent countless fsp/gold on buffs, I'm in debt for my FS career to a few buffers and friends. And i spent easily 50k stam+ on defending my spot in the titan league. So comparing 2 days of ladder to 2 weeks of Season is not even a fair comparison...toss in the fact that even after XP loss was removed from season hits, I was auto-bountied at least 1-2x a day....I ended up a total of 15 levels down....

 

 

Im all for adding some nice POTENT chests/Epic potions to the ladder but I'd want them to be bound and not quite as awesome as the season chests...maybe only get 1 use from em instead of 12....maybe have the duration a little shorter(not much but enough to make it a more appropriate reward). I'd also like to see a way to profit from the ladder. Maybe some nice leveling pots that are unbound...similar to the arenas....Lib300,AL300,BM300,etc. stuff thats gonna be worth more than 1 fsp in the AH. Maybe even a few unbound epic items acrossed the 2600+ levels we have now....they could have extreme token prices for the components and require either other epics or legendary gear to create....something us PvP players could sell to recoup our losses of xp/fsp/gold/stam from the ladder with

To be honest, I'm a bit weary of the rubbish that gets spouted in the forums. The statement that there was no XP loss and no durabilty loss during Seasons is completely untrue. Do you forget the automated Bounty Board system?!? As Dom, I lost levels and had to repair gear regularly and this was during the "updated" PvP season event.

 

In my opinion, the PvP Season, it's Leagues and Bounty Board were removed far to quickly. And c'mon, replacing Seasons with the old Ladder system. What a joke. The PvP Season should have remained and tweaked and tweaked and tweaked again to get it somewhere near acceptable. Like all things in the game it would never please everyone no matter the tinkering. Opting into the Seasons knowing that XP loss for both failed attacks and defences could have been a start. XP gain for successful attacks and defences could have been another. The automated BBoard worked, those that say they couldn't post a Bounty are fibbing, you could. All that was required was to add gold to the attackers Bounty and bingo, as if by magic, that player would appear on the BBoard. Ok, when that player was posted was a bit of a lottery. but still, posted they were.

 

What are we left with now? The Old ladder and BBoard system and HCS and players trying desperately to increase participation in both. Not a chance. It will always look flawed to too many. Best rewards in the game ain't going to have any effect on their participation rate and everyone knows it.

 

Here is a quote from Zorg in reply to a comment in another of HCS's game threads. Hope you don't mind the quote mate.

 

" If I was to take combat and entirely revamp it with new equations, better UI and design, at least 50% of players would hate it and I'd be more likely to kill the game entirely that revitalize it.  As has been shown recently on Fallen Sword with our attempts to revamp PVP Combat to a newer more modern system.  Players think they want updates, but they're also set in their ways and change often just serves to annoy them."
 

He hit's the nail on the head as to why it is so difficult for the Cows to move the game forward. Many in the game should put aside personal agendas, gains, losses or what ever else they think "change" will effect their character, game play or Guild and just look at the bigger bloomin picture.

I enjoyed the Season/League but as overall PvP no....As a global type event...YES YES YES....it benefited those with massive stam banks, and those at EoC had a distinct advantage. Also paying to hit someone was a pretty poor idea imho. I didnt mind the auto-bounty for gold hits, prestige hits,etc but the season should never be auto-bountied....its an optional participation event...if im gonna be punished for participating whats the point? PvP Ladder+0 xp loss+rewards that are worthwhile are what i feel will revive it. As for the BB I see XP loss for losing attacks as a bad thing...its surely slowed hunters down from taking on bounties where they might lose. the reward isnt worth the risk to most. so remove the xp loss for lost attacks on bounties, do something to try and increase gold hits....i know more gold in the game is a bad thing for overall economy but as a gold hitter i RARELY see anything really worth swinging at anymore. maybe during pvp season/global also run a 2-3x gold event....or something that would entice gold hits...as after all...thats what some if not most PvP'rs are after in the first place. 

 

 

 

 

 

I have no personal agenda to push...I dont try to profit from anyone or anything in this game. I rely on friends and guildmates for almost everything i have because i give as much as possible to help the game and players.

If the ladder is so easy, why aren't you in there collecting all those free rewards hand over fist?

I do think we need more rewards for sure - I'm going to be looking at what else we're going to with BigGrim and Mojawk soon :)

Perhaps the reward can be on a sliding scale like GE's (Ruby, Crystal, etc...)... the more participants in the ladder, the more epic the reward. If it's a sparse ladder, you get sparse rewards ;-p If you can survive the blood bath of a crowded ladder, you deserve epicness.

ok, thanks hoof :) also its not about just the number of rewards, you can have tons of rewards that nobody likes but you can have one or a few rewards that will attach everybody ;)

This is actually a good idea, but it needs some more specifications, for example you can have a ladder with 30 people on it but with only 3 or 4 really active and hitting and on the other hand you can have a ladder with 6 or 7 people on it but they are all active and smashing
