Does anyone know if soldier skill: strike leader works with mercs only in a squad?

Strike leader: "Increases Damage by +0.1% per point for each Soldier in the Squad. (Squad Leader only)"

 

my guess would be: mercs are not soldiers, so no

Thnks bro.  You saved me from that mistake.  I mistakenly thought it was for each member in a squad, but now I realize it only applies to soldiers.  I thought it sounded to good to be true.  LoL
