Decided to start this fun post to see what motivates the community to keep playing FS.

Seems like this thread rehashed and simplified ??
But, to answer the question, habit, I guess
Homer : Marge, don't discourage the boy. Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals .. except the weasel.
Eddie Izzard : The National Rifle Association say that guns don't kill people, people do. But I think the gun helps, you know ? I think it helps. I think just standing there going "BANG" - that's not going to kill too many people, is it ?
I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but it seems that everything I eat lately turns to poo ...

The community... hands down. Nothing beats it
I have over a thousand games (yes, seriously), and none of the other games have a community quite like this one.
I must agree with mzzery it is the community .nothing like it in any other game i have ever played.

It was the quests that first captivated me 10 years ago, then one day a guy named TDA robbed me of about 50k gold. Back then, that was a lot of gold. I have to admit I was a bit ticked off and I told him so. He laughed off my dismay, returned my gold and soon became my first friend in the game, and eventually had me hooked on robbing and pillaging too. For years I didn't level much, but I stole a boatload of gold. I became acquainted with many of you, in this way, and this community has become like my extended family. I've had rough patches I wouldn't have gotten through without the FS community.
I still love the quests, but like Miss mzz, it's the people that keep me here, from the most hardcore pvper to the dedicated leveler and even my hero, the cow god with the heavy banhammer and a heart of gold, BG...
I truly love them all and they enrich my tortured soul.
Just one old lady's opinion

My oozing need to stay in a game to the bitter end until its shut down.
I think this was my 1st or 2nd MMORPG that I started playing. Funny that this is one of the few games in that genre that keeps going. The playerbase may be small but still. Its fascinating how few of these games survived. I wonder if HCS knows themselves what they did right with this game in comparison to the other games.

I stay because of the friends I have made. They are from all over the world. Pretty cool if u ask me.

Use to think it was just my addiction to the game.. Noticed that has went away alot of late. Really just log in to say hi to friends in guild now.. Buff a few Players.. Hunt when full Stamina.. ( Dont get to Full Stam often due to buffing ) so really this game is slipping away for me.. but hopefully a second wind comes around and I get back into the game like i use to be.
