Aww, how sweet. Go try getting 10 prestige. Maybe if they made prestige 100% xp increase, right? That's what needs to be done though. The devs have always diluted PvP, always. Any 'fixes' they make only require more fixes. It's horrible! Talk about concessions... PvP smasher was diluted to only BB and Ladder, BB has been and will be dillutted even more, PvP protection added, and so many others it makes me sick.

I'm sure you would like nothing better then to see me on the BB and tee off... I imagine it would be quite fun not just for you but many others who are agitated by my responses. Sure make it 100% xp increase why not. That could encourage activity... although that may a bit much. combine it with a 2x event and the global pots would be a power leveler's dream. Probably will have those that exploit it too... sigh. no easy answers.

The real problem is:

PvP = Player vs. Player....And we don't have enough players in the game to pratice it, the activity numbers are getting lower and lower everyday.

How would we 'save the game'?
- Levelling, titans, composing and things like that.
- Increasing PvP?

I believe the idea is to make it a selfish game, where you don't need to interact with anyone, only kill titans, join arenas, do pots at composing, and log in an hour to do another pot. The interaction towards PvP is not much aproved by Devs anymore.

"dude" is derogatory? Sorry (oops almost said bro). Sorry Sir El Presidente Gentleman... I'm not advocating for no conflict... your the one that claimed this game is ALL CONFLICT. I asked for clarification. That is all.

To me, FS IS an MMORPG with MANY aspects... you could do PVP, GVG, Levelling, potion making, merchanting, farming, medal collecting, titan hunting, adventuring in quests, socialize among the few I could think of... I think it's a multi dimensional game that people can play in a multitude of ways... not just conflict as you put it... but I am ready to learn so school me why it's ALL about conflict.

AND! I would never advocate any player to go play another game... That's just not cool in my humbe opinion SIR!

This is my idea of bringing pvp back to life ...

What if you take a radical approach?

1) Remove Deflect from the game

2) Stray away from limiting bountying in the game (do 10 stam clearers get bountied that often .. really?)

3) PvP Rewards System (you gain a point each time you successfully defeat an opponent in regular pvp .. tied to some sort of reward shop / system)

4) Change Smasher Medal back to any 100 stam hit (pvp protection is the counter to that if you don't want to lose XP)

5) Implement an Active PvPer battle system .. pitting active players versus active players

6) Add a PvP component to the game tutorial and possibly high light both the benefits and disadvantages

of pvping in the game / give some general tips about pvp .. such as game etiquette.

7) Double PvP Prestige Days / Double Thievery Activation Days ... no advanced notice given

8) Guild Arena - Battle your guild mates for fun or for wager .. possible medal down the road?

1. Deflect should not be removed from the game.

2. Either allow the counter bounties or don't allow them, I see no change in PvP with that change.

3. Isn't that just the ladder system?

4. This would be the best change to make to liven up the BB and possibly PvP overall.

5. Not sure what you mean here...

6. This would be nice. Game etiquette? No.

7. PvP events would be nice to have. Would get a lot more PvPing in the game.

8. This would be nice to have. Medal? No.

Can you show me where it says that? They need to highlight and bold it so it's easier to see since it's ALL about conflict:

Fallen Sword is a massively multiplayer role playing game set in the exciting and evolving world of Erildath. Players enter the world and explore, adventure across a vast number of realms with thousands of other players.

Fallen Sword is a great game to play on your own or with friends. It has an old school MUD (Multi-User Dungeon) feel to it, with a great combat system. Slice your way through the many dungeons and group with your friends to defeat Legendary creatures.

Game Features:
  • Over a thousand levels worth of content, realms and creatures.
  • State of the art HTML5 canvas game play.
  • A vast array of skills and abilities for your character.
  • Thousands of items and quests to collect.
  • Free to play with no downloads.
  • Trading and auction systems.
  • Variety of exciting community events.
  • Regular updates and improvements.
  • An active and dynamic community of thousands of other players.

This was changed..and I think recently too - I swear on all I hold dearly that in the games description in a not so far past it highlighted it's "unique, and complex PvP system" as being like no other in any other game....which only makes me agree more with Sweetlou - but why not just be straight up with us - tell us it's over - that they are taking game in new direction, and the PvP we once knew is not in the game plan.  would make putting down the pack or beer so much easier for me - stop serving me this non alcoholic beer in hopes I buy more - let me off quick HCS  Done posting, and think I am almost ready to walk away now - but going out with a bang.

i think luisspamer is 100% correct in the problem, it is the rewards, as long as the stigma of pvp being a negative thing on your character exists then things will only go anti-pvp, there is no plus's for your character by pvp'ing as opposed to other areas where u "gain" aside from medals, people have no problem with conflict or they wouldnt attack a creature or titan, major improvements to pvp rewards that outweigh any other area is the only way the game would shift to where people MAY prefer pvp over other aspects, simple.

well being a lvler is all about conflict,,,except it's with mobs that are too easy to kill,,,,titan hunting is about conflict,,again to easy to kill,,,,se hunting is about conflict,,,again to easy,,,,I been useing the same gear for way to many lvls to hunt with,,and can keep useing it because lvling has been made to easy,,,I just say that pvping is a very important aspect of the game and if it is not fixed,,,,,,,,,,,,then there will be no game

I don't PvP, unless cornered or peeved, but will be soon on a regular basis.  I love the idea of a complete reworking.  Arena mechanics needs to be utterly trashed and reworked, more transparent.  PvP is a computer face time element of the game, and might draw numbers back.  I'm a leveller, but recognize that PvP gets the blood boiling and adds excitement.  What do most EOCers or near EOCers do? They start smashing the hell outta each other, its a great and necessary aspect of the game.  Instead of "this won't work, see how smart I am", or "that is gibberish", add to the proposal and let's see how it might play out in a beta world....the Cows DO HAVE A BETA SERVER DON'T THEY?!?! (even if an internal one).

Without the Dark side of the Force, there is no light.

1. Deflect should not be removed from the game.

Yes, my friend, it should.  Elaborate if you are to make such an assertion.  Deflect adds an odd deferral effect.  To what end?

2. Either allow the counter bounties or don't allow them, I see no change in PvP with that change.

3. Isn't that just the ladder system?

Regular PvP, I assume not a special opt in.

4. This would be the best change to make to liven up the BB and possibly PvP overall.

5. Not sure what you mean here...

I'm not sure either

6. This would be nice. Game etiquette? No.

Game etiquette, such as don't taunt, or highlight the consequences of such actions, like a deleveling party...

7. PvP events would be nice to have. Would get a lot more PvPing in the game.

110%

8. This would be nice to have. Medal? No.

Why no medal?  Why no GvG medal?

I'm in agreement with Ryebred, a reworking of PvP, making it a more prominent part of the game, might be the only road to FS salvation.  Many leveling games out there with mediocre at best PvP, but not one like this...and for goodness sakes....FS needs advertising.

No comments on my suggestion to change the system?

http://forums.hunted...e=2#entry858543

Curious to see if the PVP crowd would find this fun or challenging. Normal gold theft PVP will still be apart of the game but this change might make it fun because all the PVPers from different ranges can now compete with each other. No more sitting on dead ladders getting free coins for hitting one person with a 10 stam.

I like the suggested changes , its nice to see some solutions being talked about . As for the other debate that always takes place PVP is a great aspect of the game and for those that don't like it there are options , my question is what ever happened to having your guild defending their players. In the past guild leaders would make an example and watch out for their players , not just soak up taxes and ignore the guildies. I say great idea lets fix the pvp system good suggestion on the original post.

I have personally seen a lot of radical idea's being thrown around for a while now, and I'm starting to think that they are not that radical. every previous update has left the game with less and less members and i THINK it might be time for the cows to pick some of the PVPers ideas and see what happens.

All this false optimism by players saddens me. HCS will only be further denigrating PvP with upcoming changes. Can they prove me wrong? They appear now to have made up their mind prior to asking for input. NOTHING is improving PvP. Will they stop there? The last half dozen "changes" have only conceded more practices to dumb down the game, evaporating what some players such as myself enjoy playing. We have asked for improvements for years, which has only led to disappointments every time causing the need for more fixes. Whatever their motives are is a veiled mystery only known to them. GONE are the days when players had real input, where players could exchange ideas with Hoof who would be asking questions and actually listening. It's what made the game successful and unique. It's why we have a game to play today.  All that is left is a dictatorial process searching for any semblance of better times and to rattle the donation jar once again.

Here's a crazy idea for you all; how about we remove the ladders and make a new "king of the hill" system? Mix the arena with the old school pvp ladder. ......

Good thoughts, as it gets people thinking.   From my experience, an Opt in/out system is just a bad road and that's been proven already.  Maybe I'm just so not a fan of them that I'm less open to the concept.  If a new system was devised though with yet another opt in method, I'd probably give it a go to at least see how it went -- give it the old college try so to speak.

7) Double PvP Prestige Days / Double Thievery Activation Days ... no advanced notice given

8) Guild Arena - Battle your guild mates for fun or for wager .. possible medal down the road?

Let's start from the top :

1. Deflect <--- It helps levelers in times of hunting - it delays bounties all the time and in truth I hate the buff but.. it has it's positives and negatives and I am not totally opposed to seeing this buff limited to PvE only or out of game.

2. All attacks = the possibility of a bounty and should not change.

3. PvP reward System sounds good I am all about creating incentives for more to enjoy PvP in this game.

4. I am 100% with changing the smasher medal to it's original format.

5. Implement an Active PvPer battle system .. pitting active players versus active players <---- I am not sure how this would work - the idea of " ADDING MORE PvP to the game is great ! But if this is an idea of dropping how current PvP works than I would NOT be in favor of this I need more detail as to how something like this would work in game.

6. 100% in favor of this idea !!

7. 100% in favor of as well !!

How do you prevent farming of bunnies? If the reward "points" were tied to the pvp skill level of the opponent, then this idea would have merit otherwise open season on bunnies which would be very bad for the game.

Bunnies and bad for the game? Your view on this is controversial for certain.  The reason is due to any new player joining the game it takes a while to learn how to level up - what gear to use - how to properly dress your character and so on. But all the same rules apply to PvP <----  Why would it be bad for the game if a bunny was attacked and learned how to defend and fight back? If I learned a new aspect of the game that helped me gain 200 or more fsp a year I would be pleased.

PvP is great for people that want to participate, and I even join the ladder once in the while (my choice). However, you should have to opt in. As far as a PvP global event goes, same thing. Great to have them for people that like them, but don't force me in.

The idea of the " Opt in system " was great but has proven as a total failure so I don't see this idea working out actually - Originally when this game was created PvP flourished and in my opinion I feel we need more incentives + wider attack ranges without the need of an Opt in or out given how much is available to everyone in terms of gaining levels and xp

i've been playing FS for over 5 years and don't consider this a solely PvP game. In fact, i hardly PvP at all. This game has A LOT of different  aspects, something for everyone. i don't understand why some people want to force other people to play a part of the game they don't care for. You will just drive them away. How is that good for FS? I'm all for new PvP events, improving the ladder and arena, new prizes, and whatever else that will make PvP enjoyable for people who engage in that activity, as long as I am not forced to participate.

Hoof created Fallen Sword as a PvP Game - now whether you personally choose to view it differently that's your choice of course however, the fact remains that Fallen Sword is and always will be a PvP Based Game <----- Hoof said this.

This said Every character in this game is PvP based - every aspect of this game from : Titan hunting - SE Hunting - Arena - GvG - Leveling - and of course PvP are all based on aspects of PvP - Stats vs Stats - Regardless if it's Player vs Player or Titan or SE. Even Potions are created with PvP bases - To level up - to gain stat advantages and etc.

Honestly, I really don't think we need more rewards PvP, just less penalty for it and more encouragement from HCS to bring other players into this field and show them that it is not actually the workings of Satan. Prestige and Ladder token/items were meant to bring more into PvP and reward those who were doing good. Where did that really get thiings?

Love to see a PvPGlobal Event to go with the Frag event that does:

  • Put all bounties on a hold until after event when timer will stat back up
  • Put PvP protection already bought also on hold until after event
  • All players put into Ladder, whether opted before hand or not
  • Only 10 stam attacks are allowed during event and none of the attacks can be bountied, during or after
  • 50% of xp taken is actually goes to attacker (only during event)
  • Rewards for pots placed on # of kills a player makes, maybe 50/day for length of event (some ranges are small, so could be even less with only 1 attempt/ hr)
  • XP lock is not available until after event
  • Players wishing to opt out can buy protection after event starts, but at a higher than normal cost, and forfeiting any chance of reward or ability to jump back in
  • Top 100 kill totals get bonus 2 Ruby chests, and all bracket winners get 1 bonus Ruby chest

I know. Dumb idea.

I purposefully didn't go into detail with my ideas because I wanted it to be a free for all with conversation / debating.  I'm NOT new to the game by any means, so I knew sparks would fly between Pro PvP and Anti-PvP groups duking it out on here.  Guys .. I'm trying to get to a larger point. I'm not interested if you think PvP is Good or Bad in the game. I don't care if you participate or don't participate in a Pro PvP change. (Please take a minute to vote in the poll though,

I'm interested in finding out what ideas could spur on a bit more pvp activity and bring this aspect of the game back to life.

I don't presume to have all the answers for this complex area of the game. I've been both a power leveler and a pvper (both on the boards, ladders, and hitting people). From my perspective (playing this game for nearly 5 years), I feel some Pro PvP changes should occur.
