So its old news how garbage the mage class is...the problem is individuals are defining the entire classes effectiveness by 1 individual.
current scale in the game for AOE and single dps below
Single dps by highest to lowest-Assassin,rangers,warriors,templar,mage,prophet
AOe dps highest to lowest=warriors(soon be rangers at 50),rangers,assassins,prophets,mages,templars
why are support classes higher in dps then a dps class supposed to be based on high slow dmg's?
Why does a mage class that is supposed to be ranged distance require half of its moves to be within melee distance? why does it have lower overall dps then all of its fellow dps classes in every single aspect?
why are mobs and dungeons built reducing the dmg of the already lowest dps class in the game?


people are saying...but they can heal? but they have ovl and blizzard to slow/stun/snare
1) half the mobs in this game cast slows on you from a ranged distance anyways...so your slow = useless you will continue to be hit trying to kite.
2) mages snares/slows require melee distance= you can die in the time of casting them...(even limiting to the amount of mobs hit by these!)
3) 1 single heal...in every 30 seconds..isn't a "good source" of healing...hell in pvp its barely even worth using at this point.
4)mages are lowest dps in aoe and single target..and only have what move to make them even seem a competition? PLASMA SHIELD! without this move...mages are useless in pvp too..
5) even if you reduced the cd on db by 50% AND increased Blizzard by 30% its effectiveness would still be below the list above...due to the fact they have to stop attacking to try and flee to live...why? because not only do they have the lowest dmg ever..they also have the lowest armor and defense in the game.
6) its aoe damage moves..have much lower range based attacking then other classes as well....
Why does a class that is a mage ranged class with the lowest armor require its most effective moves to be in melee distance?
7) again...fulmination...im not sure what is going on with this,a move for lvl 50,requires 1k gold and required 3 pnts from tree...and with all that its less them 1/3 as useful as a lvl 24 ish move that requires only 1 pnt from your talent tree...and requires you to be in the dead center of a mob to cast it for effectiveness.


point being made...not only is its dps bad,its armor bad and such..its entire tree is bad...more then 70% of it isn't effective for its class.

Vote for Overhaul on this least balanced class.

Effective moves for classes
Rangers-creeping vines,monsoon,detonate,black fang,blood fang,blazing arrow,envenom,hemorrhage,storm,spectral barrage,celestial recall
Warriors-ruin,bloodbath,bane,rupture,sear,sever,hailstorm,maelstrom,meteorite,frenzy
mages-incinerate,ignite,erupt,dragons breath,plasma shield...boiling blood cant be mentioned..cauterize..is meh


looking forward to feedback or opposing ideas...as anything being said otherwise can easily be countered.

i suggest any mages in the game to just spec hyb into proph or tank or fully respec to a prophet..as prophets can out dps you,have 3x your reductions and heal for 3x-4x.

This feature is where certain pets can do certain things to help the player with different tasks E.G. fight on your side etc..

 

plus adding a falconry training feature (similar to mounts and mount training) allows the player to have a bird of prey to help hunt and fight on your side can help if in pursuit of a hostile or provoked Mob.

 

certain birds can have certain strengths and weaknesses according to their tier e.g.

 

eagle- stronger than most birds but less navigation skill during night

 

owl- average strength but higher navigation skill during day and night

 

falcon- fastest bird but less attack power- basic navigation skills

 

hawk- basic tier bird- extremely fast

 

buzzard-starter bird

 

most birds of prey will be affected by their vision due to time of day this is their navigation due to time of day.

 

however training can increase your chosen birds skills and strength but will cost similar money to the mount merchant training.

 

for example

 

eagle=400 gold

owl= 250 gold

falcon= 100 gold

hawk= 10 gold

buzzad=1 gold

 

this is just an idea which I think can improve the game a bit

 

possibly there could be a really expensive spell that could transform you into the bird and act as a mount, it is a bit of a wild suggestion but it could be added. :/

You realise that you are basically asking for everyone to only have to earn an Ascended set once and then swap out the items as freely as they like with only a minor value loss? Meaning cheap and easy respecs to different classes without having to put in the work for a new Fabled set. These are supposed to be the most elite items in the game and this would seriously cheapen them.

Server error this morning - finally fixed

 

Two issues when it it cam back on, loading locked between realms, had to reload game.

 

Just did it again and - its not loading at all AGAIN in FF or IE.

 

I am getting tired of this.

I want to open up by apologizing to the community.  I took on a large responsibility when I signed up to do development on FSH, and I can’t help but feeling that I have let you down.  I know many of you have come to rely on the features that have been provided by those who have donated their time to help improve this game.

 

However as many of you have learned, the demands on my time at home and at work have shifted dramatically.  I now have a 19 month old son who I love spending as much time as I can with.  As you can well imagine the focus of my free time has gone away from idle time I can spend coding.  On top of this, I have recently shifted jobs to a better paying, but more demanding job.  At my last job (before I became a father) I could spend much of my days programming FSH in between projects at work.  As we are a much smaller company I work most days, and then into the evenings after the little one is tucked into bed.

 

About a 6 months ago I had talked with Hoofmaster about starting a Kickstarter campaign.  We have always discussed the option of HCS hiring me officially to port all the FSH code into native Fallensword Code.  This option would have taken the financial burden off of HCS and allowed to community to really have a say in what they wanted ported over.

 

Alas, I could not start the campaign in good conscience knowing that it might be more than a year before all the work would be completed.  The only time I could really dedicate to the work would be off hours when the baby is sleeping – cutting into the precious time that I have to sleep or into the time that I could be spending with my son as he explores the world around him.

 

It is unfortunate that the other members of the FSH team have been burnt out over the years of maintaining the series of hacks that is FSH, or simply lost interest in the game itself.  I want to say that I really do enjoy programming FSH.  It makes me sad to see the string of messages that I get when HCS improves their code causing a section of FSH to break (or when GreaseMonkey updates causing all of FSH to break).

 

The blame for who is at fault has been thrown around from time to time.  Or comments to the effect of “Why don’t they just fix it” without the real knowledge of what it might take to do so.  If I am to be fully honest, the fact that I get more complaints then compliments (even when FSH was updating more often) does grate on my patience and willingness to devote time to the community.

 

To those of you who have offered thanks and appreciation along the way – it is your kind words that make me feel that I have let down the community.

 

What can we do?

 

Well I am still around, I just lack the time to develop all the fixes needed.  While I could pass the reigns onto someone else I feel that it would be breaching the trust that has been provided by the community to the FSH team in general.  I know of at least a dozen different occasions where a user has programmed a “FSH” feature and provided the code to those who have asked.  This code always contained malicious code that caused peoples accounts to be emptied of their possessions.

 

If there are member(s) of the community that feel they have what it takes to take up the mantle of FSH then by all means feel free to contact me.  I can implement fixes that are provided to me to maintain the integrity of the software until such time that I feel the trust of the community is behind the new developer.  This will allow me to put my eyes on each fix before it is implemented to ensure that there is no malicious code.

 

I have not given up on FSH, it is only a matter of free time available to devote to the code.

Have people actually seen hybrid items with stats better than a decently gemmed fabled weapon (considering the set bonus too)? If so can you post the item stats here for us to take a look at.

 

There's stuff going on under the hood of these items which should limit just how awesome they can become. There may be a problem with it, but we need to see examples if that's the case.

Disagree with out gem slot pointless adding these weapon's in first place.

Topic:

 

Over all farly sure with lvl 35 end skill tree = incentive for hybered option then pure.

Lack of deeep skill Tree just mean's hybered build spec are only option to go vs pure.

 

Weapon would still be useful without gem slot because it provides a bonus stat to melee, ranged, or sorcery.

 

And there have been other discussions requesting a deeper skill tree so that pures remain a viable option on par with hybrids...

Prophets with repent and level 50 "sorcery sword and shield" are gonna be OP

Along with glaciate a team member when he is about to die and heal him back to full health while prophet goes repent/reju/redepmtion/rigtheus defense/ and if needed why not 4 second despair at a whole area and radiance.

 

i am gonna love when that happens, and i will be doing pvp by then

 

still 8.5 secs silence with a lovelly bleed selection will wipe it out if fast enough(if not attentive and fast enough to cast repent)

 

ranger will have tornado and at that speed and distance its gonna be hard to survive that crystal blast-tornado-blood fang-creeping vines...

 

but still repent with shield and sorcery blade sounds like paradise for me

yeah i know healers are ok but i would like to bring up 1 talent in perticular... (well i guess mention 2 but focus on 1)

 

Prophecy...  increases mana rageneration 2/4/6 percent per piece of light armor..   

 

without this skill mana regen during combat is 8.12 for me. so that means for 3 talent points i can get 2.9 mana per second....

 

i know prophets can go into mage tree and get the haste for wearing light armor... but does that mean we should have  a totaly useless talent???

 

ontop of that body and soul... give a target that is healed "manalized" and increase their mana regen 80% 

 

so most people have about 8% mana regen during combat...  and lets say i have prophecy talent (waste 3 points) i'ld have about 11 mana per second.. so for another point i can have a whole 19 mana per second for 4 points... 3 in prophecy and 1 in body and soul....

 

both talents are completly wasted  really should concider changing them :) 

 

 

 

 

now dont get me wrong i know other things are more important (like fixing the mage class) but thought these deserved a mention/look :)

Remove the option to enter the arena for player vs player dueling!
Remove the option to visit TA  from the harbors of eld city!

Instead!
Make a giant portal directly across from the Ascended dungeon portal in Eldevin city square!
1) this is a better location in every aspect
2) more likely for players to find it and what the point of it is!

(the fun part ;))

This portal will take you to a giant player battleground! While in this area itself there is no pvp but there is organizing,vendors,traders,quest starters etc. But within the battleground there are more portals.

1) 2 different portals on each side of the battleground to tele those who choose to trappers atoll! 
2)sign up boards for organized pvp of players 1v1-4v4 or guild vs guild
3)portals to the hall of valor! In this Hall of Valor will be plaques and/or trophies with names under them for each type of challenge corresponding!
So a trophy for Captures,domination captures,flag defend,points defends,assists,kills,killing spree....obviously these can be changed and updated weekly or real time.
4) yes you can normal pvp queue still from anywhere and be returned to where you queue from.
5) this creates a nice custom hangout for those of the pvp community,and appreciation and incentive.
6)there will be a little check up board where you can click and scroll through current active games or a quick search option and this will allow you to gain the ability to spectate a already started or etc game.
6) vendors will be here with new and old items! remove the pvp vanity and potions etc from the eld shop and move them here to vendors here in the area,these vendors will have the crusader vanity,new pvp vanity for much higher valor cost (also require a pvp rank to wear,or a new one requiring x games players,x captures,x defends, x killing spree. New pvp mount,pvp pets,pvp weapon vanity,pvp weapons and armors that require not only valor but bonus stats or rolls for its usage to the corresponding purpose.
Example: defender tunic= +5% absorb +10% defense = 4k valor 500 point defends and 100 wins of domination.
7) a bank here also! (you may think well there's one right there in eld city...but this is just more friendly and will require less load outs and less time consumption)
8) roster boards showing daily rankings
9)pvp guild based rosters and joining area.
10) weekly raid pvp styled events or invasion weekly or even daily pvp based events,that hand out rewards by activity and participation of certain aspects of the actual event itself.( defending role can win defensive styled pvp gears,offensive obj players get offensive styled gears,etc.)
11) players who win the daily/weekly events from (10) defend the next wave going forward into the event.
12)Spectation of pvp based events,so you can access current games or waiting load outs to spectate the pvp games or minis going on.

just saw some people getting 300-350 killls in 24hours and just felt how,

 

how ? -> there are some people who just want there names on top of the leaderboard in pvp section  (doesnt deserve)  , who r giving money or a acceptable trade to the low lvl folks or there own friends to kill steal and cooperate ( just lol), such a shameful thing , but just dont want to name them out :ph34r:  .

 

What can be done to stop this ? ->

reduce the kills count of people by say 100 or 200 if they kill a same person say more than 15 or 20 times a day ,( or ) let them lose a part of valor points or gold .

 

Felt a major exploit to me , which needs to be taken care soon.

-Make separate pvp sets, with new pvp stats such as resistance, make them into 3-5tiers, which would need some tokens from the events( something 20vs20) matches in TA to be upgraded. [atol tokens or w/e you name it.]

 

-In pvp arena mode [NOT TA] implement a system of balancing the sets. 

Make everyone's gear have the same stats as the highest level set on entering the arena.

A player would need to have the equipment , in the equipment slot for it to be made the same stats as the highest level set. Implement this in TA also if you think it's right.

 

-remove the sets from relics, make the sets into Tiers, relics would be needed to upgrade the PvE sets.

Make the sets drop from bosses with a rare chance.

You get the set, you run the dungeon more , you get the relics, you upgrade your set using the relics.

 

-World boss or RAID boss should have different sets, with different tokens for defeating it, Hence upgrading it more further using the tokens.

 

-Add a new skill- Something that make enhancements for sets. Each piece of set can have some specific enhancements runes that can be attached to them. The skill would require making those runes, Player would buy it and apply it on his set, according to his need. The runes can be anything from basic character stats like attack power to anything else. These should be an addition to the already in-game gem slots. Do not remove one or reduce effect of either one.

 

-PVE sets should be of more damage stats & low sustainability>upgrading> will add more dps but low sustainability.

There should be talent in the tank tree to increase Armour by 200% , reducing damage done by tank by 30-40%, Increasing threat by 200%. Also adding more skills with threat generation & aoe effects.

-PVP sets should be of more sustainable stats & low dps.>upgrading> More sustainability but less dps.

-Raid bosses sets should be more of mixture of the combined two. With the possibility of upgrading it into either PVE sets, or pvp sets, using tokens. and choosing the path b/w pve & pvp.
