BUYER BEWARE!
Prices in Gothador are highly subjective. Do some pricing research before you jump on any offer in the "newbie help" or "trading" section.
DO NOT POST IN ALL CAPS.
It's like you're shouting. Irrational as it may be, people will hate you for it.
Do not beg or pander
Asking for help is one thing. What do do, where to go, etc. It is a faux pas, however, if you start threads asking for free items, gold pieces, etc. This will not make you any friends.
There are lots of cults and people that help newbies, so check out those threads and see what they have to offer.
Do not spam the boards
do not post a thread for each question you have. Start one thread and carry on a dialogue there.
Read the forums thoroughly. Check out all the sections on items, locations, etc.
Learn how to use the "search" function on this forum - most of your answers are buried within the threads on this very forum.
Posting questions about things that are easily found on the forums or in a community resource will get you a thread full of flames.
Enjoy the Journey.

nice post ... I think that this is worth a fixed place at the top
To take that one step further your time here on the forum may be more enjoyable if you follow these simple rules ...
* Some general posting guidelines.
* Don't use all capital letters, excessive !!! (exclamation marks) or ??? (question marks)... it seems like you're shouting!
* No double posting, there's an edit button, use it.
* No flaming, be pleasant and polite. Don't use offensive language, and don't be confrontational for the sake of confrontation.
* Try not to ask stupid questions. A stupid question is one that you could have found the answer to yourself with a little research, or one that you're asking in the wrong place. If you do the basic research ie search the forums or the GoW site posted above and don't find the answer to your question, then go ahead and ask.
* Be sure you read all the stickys. They are there for a reason
* Use descriptive and specific subject lines. This helps others decide whether your particular words of wisdom relate to a topic they care about.
* Try not to post comments that don't add anything to the discussion. When you're just cruising through a thread in a leisurely manner, it's not too annoying to read through a lot of "hear, hear"'s and "I agree"'s. But if you're actually trying to find information, it's a pain in the neck. So save those one-word responses for threads that have degenerated to the point where none but true aficionados are following them any more.
Or short: NO spamming
* Refrain from quoting excessively. When quoting someone, use only the portion of the quote that is absolutely necessary.
* Please refrain from starting political or religious discussions. These types of discussions lead to arguments and flaming users, something that will not be tolerated.
* Don't waste other people's bandwidth by posting images of a large file size.
* Be patient with newcomers. Once you have become an Gothador expert, it is easy to forget that you started out as a newbie too.
