#1004429 Egg - unable to be picked up

Posted by Irradiated on 08 July 2021 - 17:48

This will be fixed in the next update.

This is two posts now I see referring to "the next update".

Is there really an update planned?

Will it just be a few bug fixes or ... (I don't dare say it)

#1001499 How many evoluition points have gotten?

Posted by Irradiated on 18 September 2020 - 19:37

Level 283, no idea how many points that translates to.  I tried to return and play some more, but without the Sigmastorm Helper it just didn't fly.

#953862 the game needs a graphical update

Posted by Irradiated on 24 November 2015 - 20:52

we need a  graphical update  the developers are lazy its 2015 for gods sake what are you doing

Probably repeated about 847 times now, they are a tiny indie company with a game that's not rolling in money (SICWGTNRIM).  We all get a bit frustrated waiting, but there is absolutely no reason to be insulting.  Besides, I really like the classic look.

the game needs updates every 2 weeks and that can be done right now nothing big

They're a SICWGTNRIM, not blizzard, they could never afford a dedicated release team.  This would all but grind development to a halt.  As discussed in a previous thread, releases are very time consuming.

the game has 3 empty why not have a mega server

Tried, overwhelming majority preferred it this way.  You can dig up the thread if you want the reasons.

tell us your plans

They keep people informed to some degree, although I agree not enough.  On the other hand, when they do say something and it doesn't work out they get even bigger backlash then when they stay quiet.

get off your back sides put some effort in to the game

They are putting in effort, but they are a SICWGTNRIM.  See previous answers.

#951055 game crash.

Posted by Irradiated on 13 October 2015 - 17:08

Does it cost money to release a patch to a game on steam or something ?? HCS seem to be bundling updates together to release ?? Does it save on money.

Can't speak for HCS or Steam specifically, answer based on many years of development experience.

Releases generally have no or minimal direct costs (e.g. may have to pay the server company for tech support).  But they are expensive indirectly, as they takes a fair amount of time from several people.  This is further complicated when it's going to a live server (as opposed to a downloadable package).

Just a few of the major steps involved:

*  Compile all the changes that are going with this release

*  Put together a deployment package that minimizes downtime

*  Install and test on a local server

*  Install and test on a remote server

*  Arrange and perform actual release, including some basic testing (will it run).

*  Repeat above for multiple platforms in close coordination so they all release simultaneously when servers restarted.

*  Release notes

*  The (almost) inevitable rush of bugs (inevitable for virtually all companies  these days, there was once a time when this wasn't true.)

#949564 hunted cow mount:

Posted by Irradiated on 24 September 2015 - 19:40

That would make Mongo happy, maybe even see him in game.  He's been trying to get a bull mount for a very long time.

For now, cows 1, tanks 0

#949101 lower exp on story mode

Posted by Irradiated on 19 September 2015 - 02:26

This old suggestion would solve this for everyone.

https://forums.hunte...d-stop-xp-gain/

This way everyone is satisfied.  If you enjoy the great story lines and questing at level turn off XP as necessary.  If you just want to get leveled (multiple alts) leave it on.

#948093 New forum category

Posted by Irradiated on 09 September 2015 - 19:27

I've suggested this before, going to mention it again as I still like the idea :)

With people once again posting and discussing builds, I'd like to see a 'build discussion' category.  As it currently stands, these discussions get lost in the general or help category, and have to be dug out or redone when someone inevitably asks again.

It would also be interesting to track how builds have evolved over time.

I've considered sub-categories for each class (plus one for hybrid), but I think that would be overkill.

#947169 Manners Maketh Man

Posted by Irradiated on 31 August 2015 - 03:14

I'm having a very hard time imaging Fiz being impolite to anyone who was polite to him.  I'd be curious to know what he did, but forum rules mean you can't say.

Yes, if a player was impolite, a beggar, inviting him to groups without asking first, needing, asking for help and then not listening, or otherwise ignoring MMO etiquette.  But you're none of these Gog, which is why I don't get it.  Yet what I saw was someone often helping new players.  Usually ready to lend a hand, as long as you asked in chat first.

#946153 FAQ: Game doesn't load

java update today

The primary reason I've switched to the client (on Windows).  So I don't have to update Java.

Maybe HCS should add a dominatrix vanity? :D

#945182 Sub Classes?? ( please read Mod's)

Posted by Irradiated on 17 August 2015 - 21:56

I ment like an example of a GOOD combination  that you know of, that works well..

Most hybrids are just a few points in another tree, such as the ranger with Dual-Wield Mastery, or prophet with Mental Agility.  But some true hybrids are possible.

In the right hands the healtank is extremely effective.  The warsin is another proven hybrid.  I don't know if this is still true, but apparently the prophmage ruled PvP.  Someone recently posted a tanksin build that looked very interesting.  (How did it actually go?  Update?)  And probably others I'm not thinking of at the moment.

Back to the original topic.

While talent subclasses sound interesting, that would involve a game redesign.  Eldevin is just not set up for that level of specialization, with characters requiring solo, group instances (that have both AOE and single targets), and PvP.  Especially with only a single talent spec.  Speaking of PvP, that would probably have to be completely rewritten.  I'm sure there are easier ways deal with the current criticisms.

On the other hand, subclasses is worth considering for end game.  If we can get the population for 10 or 25 player raids, perhaps players could earn 'raid points', specialized talents along the lines of your suggestion, useful in more difficult raids.  If the talents are only allowed during a raid they would not add to the difficulty of balancing the current game.

#941945 leave it as it is

Posted by Irradiated on 28 July 2015 - 22:45

While this quest is obviously not designed for people with 16 characters, I see the logic in what HCS is saying.  If there is a problem with a quest it should be fixed.  Using an exploit is not the way to address it.  And people have been suggesting HCS add incentives for more bt/rg runs.  This, along with ToM, accomplishes that.

Really, we'll just have to wait and see how it turns out. Much will depend on the flag respawn rate, something I've always ignored.  It could be the reality is 30-40 flags per run, the only extra time is waiting for the actual clicks.

If it doesn't work out, then I suggest HCS reduce the number of flags required.  That should be a very easy change.  Based on 14 flags per run I suggest no more then 6.  This will mean an average of two runs per alt over the course of a week if shared equally (sorry Mog) while still accomplishing HCS' goal.

(I have to say this, although it only makes sense if you live in or around NJ, but six flags makes a great adventure.)

#941456 leave it as it is

Posted by Irradiated on 26 July 2015 - 21:25

I see HCS locked the bug report on this issue, saying it will be fixed in the next patch.

Message to HCS:  Can you please respond to this thread?  If you're going to change it, are you considering any of the suggestions here?  As was said many times, changing this arbitrarily makes BT more difficult without adding anything.  Actually, 'more difficult' is the wrong word here.  Should say a PITA.

Please don't ignore your player base (again).  Tell us what's going on.  And more important, if you're not considering what was said here, why?

(I have no problem with fixing this in C HQ, as it just raises the quest to the intended challenge.  It's BT I'm concerned with.)

Re:  The realism argument.  IMHO, the main concern should be fun game play.  If we're really concerned with realism much of the game needs a rewrite :).

#939046 Discrepancy between armor classes

Posted by Irradiated on 16 July 2015 - 13:34

Everyone is saying medium 50/50.  Perhaps that works best for PvP or the assassin, but as a PvE ranger I really don't need that much more HP.  The energy is far more useful to a PvE ranger.

No reason I can see that the two medium sets need be the same bonuses.

#938460 Self Defense Feature

Posted by Irradiated on 09 July 2015 - 17:17

I like the concept.  Sometimes you don't even have a couple of minutes to get to a safe area.  (I've been in your situation.  I can see the look when you tell your customer, "just one minute, I have to move to a safe corner so I don't die". :P )

But rather then an auto-fight, I'd suggest a 'ghost' mode (/ghost).  In ghost mode the mobs ignore you.  To prevent exploiting there can be a few seconds delay, if you get attacked 'ghost' fails.  If you walk away without waiting you'll still die in some situations (the same situations where logging off fails), but it should help.
