Unbearable Lag

Please look into the 3-4 second delay. I'm trying to SE hunt and the "Moving..." each square takes many seconds making this activity unplayable. Thank you!

I have been struggling with this issue and you guys tell me it is my network...

 

 

I think you need to check with CloudFlare service you are using if it is not the servers.

I've been noticing it too. It seems to be intermittent. When the game is slow I just leave it and come back later. It seems different to the kind of slowness we get when there are 300+ players online. We might have to log the exact times to help Hoof track it down?

We need you to put in Support tickets:

Is this the App, on Browser or both?
Detail what you are doing in game.
The time and date the slow down occured.
What browser you're using.
What scripts are installed.
Where you are geographically.

 

We need as much data as you can provide because we're just not seeing it here. I'm not saying it ain't happening, I'm saying whatever is causing it for you is something we're not seeing. We need data from you to know where to look. "It's lagging!" simply is not helpful.

Its wide spread not isolated to any one individual and has been getting worse over the last week.

Just check global chat. Has been many references.

Im on full site using Chrome

After 15 and a half years of playing I thought the game's issues would be easier to report, there would be more transparency to the way information is shared. Alas after a week of the same old run around we see jack all. I wasted my time and made a ticket reluctantly. I have previously never had to make that effort, but I thought let's see. Now I'm just privately ignored without any action. Nothing changes.

Hello everyone!

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing some lag issues when playing the game. We hope to resolve this issue for you as soon as we can.

 

It is always helpful to send in a ticket to at least let us know what you were doing when the lag happened, and the approx time if you can  :) It will be easier for Hoof to pinpoint where the problem is.

 

I understand it is frustrating waiting for a resolution.

I understand how to wait for an update in Fallensword, I really do. When you say, "trust me, we feel it too" my question is: are the staff at HCS experiencing lag as well?

I did while testing the Epic Quests, but it was fairly brief when it hit. Not while just playing around in the game. Arioche has while playing around ingame on occasion I believe.

Duplicating a ticket in case others saw the same thing..:

 

- Chrome, using only TamperMonkey and FSH
- Ubuntu 20.20
- Literally ANY activity in any realm (I have visited >100 since this started) will be impacted and even movement/combat can take 10-15 seconds for a single tile, or refreshing a tab can stall out completely (black background).
- Other websites do not display lag simultaneously with the FS issue

Having said the above, something happened yesterday early afternoon that may help. I was SE hunting and suddenly the FSH list of historic kills ('SE Tracker') reset to 4 days previous and lost all the kills I had just completed (it had refreshed correctly within an hour or two). This coincided with a massive reduction in lag which gradually built up again although it is still better than it has been. Possibly just a coincidence BUT if a server was rebooted or some cache cleared around that time it might be worth investigating.

Good luck replicating and tracking it down.. needles in haystacks!!

EDIT - I cannot specify the exact time I noticed this, but it was between 11-00 and 15-00 ST as I recall ish :P
