Make it so armour does not degrade in GvG combat

Or if people are salty about that, make it so the defenders armour does not degrade in GvG :)

This is one of the things that people who do not take part in GvG Dislike the most, so implementing this will make people not so opposed to GvG, and may encourage them to get involved knowing there are no negative side effects, apart from stam cost ofc

thanks

How does this make sense though. There has to be some sort of consequence to something related to pvp.

I have to agree with EP....

However, I believe guilds that don't wish to participate in GvG should be able to opt out, like the ladder, but I doubt this will happen anytime in the near future.

As it is now though, you can always protect potential targets by checking out who is active and online in the challenging guild, as this could be a good indicator of who is hitting, and buffing active members in that range.  Since most players go offline in Epics, deflect and erosion are good deterrents, and simpler buffs like LD, EA and EW, SW and the like....

Gvg should be more challenging. It's annoying having to search for the member that's getting hit in big guilds. There should be a notification of whose getting hit so guilds know how to react. Stop the easy wins -_-

War is never an invite though BP. It's a one sided choice. If you could opt out GvG would once and for all be dead because simply there isnt enough players and guild to rely on enough opting in.

There is a way currently through Twitter and activating an option in preferences. I wish it was easier and showed up in guild log tho.

90% + of the GvGs worked out on me have been while I was offline. When the 100 hit ones were all on me, it hurt. Now as I fight cancer too, I'm here even less often but I do try to check in, on  and off, during the day or night depending how the sleep and pain goes.

I do not care for GvG farming I don't consider them warriors, they are farmers only.

Could you add another classification to GvG to indicate farming? I would feel less insulted by someone calling themselves a farmer than a warrior.  Oh and I would like them to have a farming avatar instead of a warrior avatar.

:P

GvG has needed a whole overhaul for awhile. Wasn't it a to-do on the old roadmap they never did?

GvG has needed a whole overhaul for awhile. Wasn't it a to-do on the old roadmap they never did?

Yes, it has, and I believe that GvG "improvements" were on the now abandoned roadmap.  There was even a great plan thought out by Ryebred to give both GvG and PvP a shot in the arm, which BG said that was a great idea.  All these things were apparently preempted by the app, unfortunately, so no idea if anything was ever planned or not.

Now that the app is close to completion, hopefully this and many other ideas, suggestions and previously promised updates will be moved back to the front burner.  I just hope that Hoof and the team(s) are listening to our pleas to make FS exciting and challenging again, rather than the current grind of 12345678-0 rinse and repeat.

IMHO, all this work to make the app will have been in vain if things don't change, because as a avid mobile player, I know that FS won't be able to compete with flashy MMO's like the ones I play regularly, and whatever new players are drawn in via the app store and play store will quickly lose interest, leaving a horrid review before deleting it and moving on to greener pastures.  GvG and PvP are just the tip of the iceberg, tbh, just as are the economy and the shrinking player base.

Many of my long time friends have left in just the last year, and many more in recent years as well,  granted for various reasons including lack of new content besides just new levels. Almost all could be contributed to boredom and a feeling that they just aren't being heard.  Isn't this a good indicator that this and many other needs expressed in this forum need to be addressed sooner rather than later?

Yes, go to Character > Preferences > FS Updater and enter your Twitter name.  When you do, your followers will get a tweet every time you get hit, or finish a quest.... FB friends will also get this tweet because FB now owns Twitter.  BUt your guildmates and FS allies have to be Twitter followers or FB friends to get this information, obviously.

it is no secret gvg needs a full overhaul

im also not here to discuss gvg farming as i know where people stand on that :D

But the reason i suggest this is because it is a simple change to do, which would take probably 30 minutes to implement, and could encourage gvg more

as being probably the most active gvg guild in terms of initiated conflicts, the most common message i get is from people frustrated they lost a lot of gold from repairs. So i suggest getting rid of repair costs for defenders, as they have no choice to participate or not,

and maybe if this is implemented, people will start to look more favorably at gvg, as it wont frustrate them as much, and maybe they will one day feel the desire to try it, knowing they won't lose out on much

When I get hit in a GvG, I average 15K in repairs.  That's 2 critters worth of gold with DBL 1200 and TH 175.  Repair costs seem to be a small thing compared to the fun participating can be....

btw, the app has push notifications now... idk if GvG is included as of yet, but I do know that it is something planned.  I would suggest it you are a high traffic defender, you advise members most often hit (I know as well as you do that it's usually the same guilds that challenge you, so those who complain most often should do this) to download the app into their smartphone, then take precautions to be an undesirable target (deflect and erosion are the best buffs, and proper defense gear is a must, or no gear at all if you don't care about causing a miss)  If they want to sit unbuffed in epics anyway, they have no one to blame but themselves, in this old lady's opinion.  Repairs is the ONLY downside to GvG, as you lose nothing but that.

Fist fight buffs is also a good "defense" with players using epics as offline.
