#814582 NON optional mass Boss dungeons for Dungon lovers.

Posted by RikkaLarn on 02 October 2013 - 22:49

Ah... ralex already, guys.. i know ye re pretty upset some people had 150+ of these temple "ye dont live in" relics :D

Some test shigras, some test various builds in dungeons in party\solowing to make further report with concrete calculations. Its just the way it is. SO there is no much need in some deep mental issues here.

BTW Rikkallarn, could you public some of or PM discussion as you were intendet to, so people do no misunderstand your real opinion. Thank you.

here you go mate...

ok, i get that, look there is nothing WRONG with the idea, its just that as someone who enjoys almost every aspect of the game it comes over as one dimensional. I get that its this side of this type of game that you like, but as it stands many of us are trying to understand the thinking behind how the crafting will work, the time needed to get the mats (flakes) and the relative weakness of these items given that you can run an instance a dozen times and get better gear in one day....

....there is no balance in this as it makes crafting obsolete,

and then you bring this idea into the thinking..... which is basically asking for yet another way to farm bosses...

in fact if you are happy i've explained myself i'll post most of this

cheers for responding

Can't disagree looking at your Farming achievements :)

I alredy figured out that most of the public here is Craft oriented.

Still there are Dungeon farmers on server, and more to come after release. People just like killing something hard, as you guys like shaving shigras.

Obviously you like playing differently to I, or so you assume.....rather than repeatedly do the same thing over and over again, and camp in one spot whilst boring the life out of others with meaningless drivel, I test/play all aspects of the game including dungeons both solo and within groups as i'm positive many can attest to, I enjoy helping others am are accessible to anyone for that. The only aspect of the game i cannot enjoy is pvp, as my disability doesnt allow me to use both keyboard and mouse at the same time and i can use the keyboard only 1 handed. Personally I dont care how you want to play the game but I do object to assumptions being made about me or insults thrown. We are all here for the same purpose....to test....powergaming my friend can be done once game goes live.

As to my initial comment?

It was in response to your idea in a general perspective.....you spent time putting together an idea with very little upside. The game has 2 arena type functions already, plus pvp not to mention the facility for solo and group dungeoneering. Nothing really wrong with the idea other that being so insignificant as to be a waste of yours and everyone elses time. You generally have quite a few good ideas...this is not one of them.

Maybe read your own signature before insulting others

#808633 Manners Maketh Man

Posted by RikkaLarn on 27 August 2013 - 12:05

(and Woman)

Ok, so it seems to me that a lot of players lack basic common curtesy, so i'll start a thread here explaining unwritten rules that original testers adhere to.

If i miss anything, please add to this thread, these are not in any particular order, but are meant as a guide to those players who don't understand the concept of good manners.

When a player is Prospecting/Mining a particular node, it is extremely rude to start on that same node, especially when there is another node right next to him/her, please mine a different node.

If you ask a player to craft something for you, be sure to have all the materials required for the item/s, including the materials from the Vendors, don't expect the player that is helping you to spend his/her cash on your items.

Please/Thank you, shouldn't really need to explain this, but many players seem to lack this basic curtesy, always say please and thank you to players that help you.

When doing instances/group runs, i see a lot of players choosing need on all drops, have consideration for others in the group, (more so if helping you with quest instance) only choose need if you really do need the item and it is for your class, otherwise choose greed and let the RNG decide who gets the drop.

If a high level player asks if you need any in game help, reply to them instead of ignoring them, even if it's 'no thanks' they are trying to help you and there WILL come a time when you will need help and if you've ignored people, chances are they will not help you.

If i have missed anything here please add to the thread and i hope that the rude players will read this and learn manners

Oh i DO like this thread...

Whilst I am happy to help anyone IG with quests/crafting etc. Please be reasonable, none of the higher level or more established testers are the to be personal guides and protectors, let alone sugar daddies. This IS Beta and any and every problem needs to be reported. The "can you buy me backpacks because i had no points" query has been asked many times, and while I accept that this may be true, Its a bug report that is needed as the developers need to know about every time this happens.

Please and Thank you should go without saying (i'll happily take them in many languages...Welsh/English/French/German/Spanish/Italian....others i may struggle with)

If you are asking me to craft then i NEED all materials provided as it is unlikely I will have them on hand. Feel free to ask if I have mats and need anything else....I might be open to barter....and tips are always appreciated, though I stress not necessary.

I think it is sad that people feel the need to be cheeky, nag, lie or just downright selfish in a community game, let alone in testing. Its equally incredible that as a result of these character flaws people have made my iggy list and that of others during testing :(

#807512 Account/Char tracking (friends/block lists)

Posted by RikkaLarn on 20 August 2013 - 13:49

Excuse topic title please, as I wasn't sure how to put it really.

I've not come across a topic covering this, but I believe it was Bart that I was chatting IG to about it.

You make a friend, they are a friend, irrespective of which character they are using at the time. With the friends list so short I find that a good third of my list is taken up by Alt characters of existing friends, with me having to delete some that have not been on so much.

My proposal is that your friends list reflects when an account is online not a character. The "account" would be either that persons 1st character, or better still the character that you added to friends list, and so are most familiar with.

This would show on friends list with active character in brackets in different colour after the "account" name and would report in chat box in the same way.

ie

RikkaLarn (Caracatus)  or RikkaLarn (RikkaLarn)

or

RikkaLarn (Caracatus) is offline!

RikkaLarn (RikkaLarn) is online!

Much of my suggestions lean towards creating and maintaining a strong game community. I hope plenty of you share your thoughts on this.

Cheers all

#805176 gems...

Posted by RikkaLarn on 08 August 2013 - 14:47

I think we'd prefer if you guys experimented and got some drops for yourselves before we spill the exact spacing and drop-locations of gems. I doubt it'll be too long before the community is pooling their information and you'll have your answers anyway. :)

In other words.....testers......go test!!!! ;)

#793339 Equipping from two weapons to a two-handed weapon.

Posted by RikkaLarn on 04 June 2013 - 12:43

We're working on improving this currently should equip/unequip normally in the future.

It is normal, its just that it hasn't got a shortcut built in. And although I'd prefer both hands to unequip when equipping a two handed weapon, there is nothing wrong with how it works right now. Definitely one for suggestions this, its not a bug.

#787928 Notice board idea

Posted by RikkaLarn on 01 May 2013 - 13:14

Kinda covering the idea of "How important is the "role" in role playing" a bit, but it would be great if you could "pin" notices to the board directed at individuals, and then when checking it, a "personal messages" option could be displayed.

Although this can be done via forums etc. I think it would be great to have it as an in-game function. There is clearly a serious attempt to create a genuine in game economy, which I have seen the beginnings of personally, though the ability to place orders with people offline that they can pick up on would be awesome. The facility could be used to advertise guilds, open requests for people to form groups for specific purposes and many other reasons, however an in game cost should probably be attached to some options.

I guess I feel keeping as much of the experience in game enriches it.
