#987512 Inactive Player Removal

It is inevitable in online games like ours that some players will leave and become inactive. In the past our approach has been to remove these players from the region as they got destroyed, if they met certain criteria.

 

It's important to note that players are never deleted entirely, and if these inactive players return they will be placed back in to the region they were removed from.

 

The criteria we used previously was:

 

1. The player must have been inactive for over 14 days.

2. The player must be below Headquarters level 10.

 

However, in response to player feedback we have now changed the second rule to be:

 

2. The player's Hero must be below level 30.

 

Our thought behind this change is that players with a Hero of level 30 or above can have their Hero captured and executed. Giving them value towards Hero killing challenges.

 

This change will be effective immediately.

the Specialized troops had no buffs or research,this new research makes them stronger

normal reserch(excluding specialzed) does not apply to these troops

 

What this guy said. We're not gonna stealthly nerf stuff just to add research for it. :D

#978555 Capturing sectors not counting on you total

Capturing with teleports / outpost does not count towards tiles captured.

 

Also, if you pull back your deployment as soon as the tile becomes friendly you only get credit for capturing 50% of a tile. If you want full credit the deployment must sit on the tile until it at 100% and come back on its own.

#971584 Inactive Player Removal

If a player has been inactive for 14+ days and is less than HQ level 10 they will now be removed from the region if their main facility is destroyed.  All other players will be randomly teleported as before.

 

This is effective immediately, so if inactive players are annoying you, destroy them!

 

If the inactive player returns (which happens rarely) they will be placed back at random within their old region.

I'm down with that, I'm ahead on most of my current work so I literally have the time it's just motivation I lack.

Some small changes and bug fixes in preperation for our first official PVP Season.

  • Once you have fought a rated battle against another player you will not be given that target again for an hour. This may result in no targets being available at times (no cost is deducted when this is the case).
  • Finding a combat target now costs 500 gold minimum, even if you don't currently have a target.
  • Players will no longer receive unexpected costs when searching for opponents, or errors saying they did not have enough gold for a search.
  • Settings will now automatically save once you confirm you wish to opt-in or out of PVP Seasons to avoid confusion of players forgetting to click the 'Save Settings' button.
  • Spell Breaker and Spell Leech have been fixed to once again not work on 'Special' buffs from potions.

The new Season will commence at 12:00 server time today!

We've made some improvements to our code that handles moving around the world on a map with an active Titan. We're hoping this will resolve the errors players were getting that they moved too quickly.
 
Please let us know how you get on. We've noticed you still sometimes get the 'You cannot move more than 1 square.' errors but the client should now resolve your moment without moving your character backwards if it can.
