I would love a function where you can disable anything from professions in chat - because when i mine its hardly impossible to write with someone because every few seconds there come 2 lines into the chat ...

Try being on group chat or world chat, I very rarely use local chat, so it;s never an issue

well, when im mining im usually on local chat talking with the guys that are nearby

I would prefer a separate tab altogether for "logs" (quest advances, npc quest chats, gathering logs etc).

 

I don't feel these fit in with the local chat option. If I am farming (or gathering in general), and a (new) player posts a question it can often go unnoticed amongst all the clutter. I think chat still has a way to go before it is perfect and that it definitely needs to be more customisable depending on play style.

Well I do on occasion chat locally on accident and I think I've inadvertently ignored people trying to communicate with me there because I didn't see their message so I'd like to see the professions moved to another tab by itself. It's a bit unorganized I feel.
