Sorry if this has been stated before, but something is way, way off when it comes to Prestige Points. If you are lucky each daily will give you 4 prestige points. If you work at it, you can do 6 of these quests in 1 day and earn yourself, at best, 24 prestige points every day. Now, say that you are dying for a full set of a vanity set. Well, that would run you 20,500 prestige points. Now, 20,500 divided by 24 would give you 855 days of never missing a daily prestige point quest (also you could never receive 2 or 3 points either from any of those bags (like that would happen)).

So, is it reasonable that one would dedicate every day of their life for at least an hour for the next 2.34 years for just 1 of the 5 vanity sets? Would it be even close to reasonable to expect a player to play every day, for at least 1 hour, for 11.7 years to get all of the vanity sets from prestige points?

So, unless I am missing something big, the prestige gear is entirely unobtainable. Feel free to correct me, or feel free to make their cost anywhere reasonable...

I happen to like the excessive cost of prestige items, as it really makes you persevere on a daily basis to get points. It also makes 'prestige events', such as the one we had over the Christmas holiday season, very appealing(you could get a solid amount of prestige from Festive Cracker opening).

It's true that they're quite a grind, but that's also why there's such a sense of accomplishment in acquiring them. I think that non-essential items such as vanity items should be a grind to get.

But yes, other than the ten daily 'faction' quests from Mythos, Ilaneska, Order of Life Hall, Eldevin Barracks, and Arcane Sanctum(two from each location), there are other repeatable methods of acquiring Prestige:

There's the daily Perfecting a Profession quest(scales with combat level), the five weekly Legendary Quests(at 40), as well as Arena quests(daily? weekly), and the A Test of Might dungeon daily quest. There might be others as well that even I don't know about!

Players might want to look into some of these alternative sources for Prestige, as the faction dailies are currently the only repeatable source for city faction, of which you need Revered with to equip Prestige armor(Friendly 6000 -> Honored 12000 -> Dignified 18000 -> Revered).

What I would hope in the future, though, is to be able to access more of the faction-specific costumes. While I do think the ones available look pretty snazzy, with a few minor gripes(fix the shoulderpads on the Arcane Council robe, please!), I would also love the option of being able to wear ANY of the gear from that faction.

Some of the NPC-specific gear looks amazing, and in my opinion way, way cooler than the available prestige gear(in particular, some of the Arcane Council NPC robes, and some of the Illanon NPC armors).

Edit: Oh right! I also forgot to mention, HCS staff did mention that there will be additional daily quests at higher levels(either 45, or 50) which means that the amount of Prestige you can acquire per day will increase greatly, as higher level quests generally give larger bags of points.

Shouldn't they just fix the underlying problem instead of giving us events to make up for a system that is broken? You should not be wasting your time by selecting a bag of prestige points. They should give you a decent amount of points per bag, or they should not exist at all. Glazing over the problem with events is silly, and quite frankly, lazy.

Even if you get 10 bags of prestige points thats around 36 points for about 2 hours of daily exclusive time. That is still 570 days in a row for a set of vanity items. That's totally unreasonable.

A challenge would be 2 or 3 months, not 2 or 3 years.

Level 40 Prestige bags(Large Bag of Prestige Points) give 5-6 prestige points on average. You can get several of these per day/week. They are much better than the ones you get for doing the Level 25 daily quests(which, as you point out, give 3-4 points on average).

Going by this, the upcoming daily quests at 45 and/or 50 should give even more prestige points, in addition to the profession and dungeon daily rewards scaling upwards as well. By level 50, you could likely get upwards of 100 prestige points, per day, on a good day of grinding.

(For the record, even at current rates, I don't find two years of grinding unacceptable for getting EVERY single prestige vanity item in the game. It's called vanity for a reason!)

To address your other point, I don't believe prestige events are a way to fix a broken system, but rather, incentive for participating in an event without giving away items that may break the game. It also allows newer players to catch up on prestige, or, for players less interested in prestige, access to a commodity to trade for other currency.

Edit: I am certainly biased in that I relish long-term challenges over instant gratification. I understand that many players desire to get things quicker and for less effort than I do. However, since the release of the game, a great many game mechanics have already been adjusted to cater to a 'less-grindy' style of gameplay in Eldevin(quest exp, gathering/crafting exp, & etc.).

While I understand and agree with the reasons behind these previous changes(even if I dislike them, I realize they are good for the game, so I accept them) when it comes to grinding for items that have no direct impact on gameplay such as vanity items, I really would like to see at least some of these things be a long grind and stay a long grind. Eldevin can most certainly be seen as a retro, throwback MMO and one of my favorite things to do in games personally is grind for items. Without at least some form of grinding, the game's content would be exhausted too rapidly(as is somewhat problematic with many modern MMO's these days that cater to more casual, instant-gratification gamers).

I would prefer if there were some items left in the game which were difficult/took a long time to obtain. They could increase the amount that the bags & arena gives slightly but I would hate to see these sets take a couple of months to obtain, they are vanity after all and have 0 effect on gameplay.
