If you're looking for something special for an avatar or signature and you'd like to get a couple of choices. Maybe you should hold a contest.

Recommended information to put in your thread if you want to host a contest.

1. Title of thread - include something like "Avi Contest" or "Sig Contest", maybe even what the prize is to attract artists' attention

2. Prize - If you don't put up a prize(s) people aren't going to enter! Recommended minimum is 2FSPs to get serious attention. If you want a lot of entries to choose from try 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes (recommended minimum: 5, 3, 1). Remember the bigger the prize the better and more entries you'll receive.

3. End Date/time - When the contest will end. Please use game time to set the date and time. Recommended contest length is 3-7 days. The longer the time more entries you are likely to receive.

4. Subject - IMPORTANT! Please, please, please give the artists an idea of what you want the central figure to be in the avi/sig. Just a few examples: warrior, demon, angel, animal, werewolf, etc. It also helps greatly to include a "feel" for the art. Examples: noble, evil, silly, sexy, cute, etc. Alternately you can include a render or stock image you would like to be used in the avi/sig. (you can find renders at www.sxc.hu)

5. Text - Please note what text you would like on your avi/sig. Name, guild name, or something else. Be very specific here.

6. Size - For sigs only! Please include a preferred size for the sig entries.

If you like more than one entry, you can negotiate with the artist to purchase the piece. Just because it was an entry to the contest does not give you the right to use the art if you have not purchased it. Some people will say something like. "I'll pay 1FSP for any non-winning entries that I like" That will also help you get more entries.

Once you have finished the contest please make an post (or edit your original post) to reflect who won. Bonus good forum etiquette points if you edit the thread title to reflect the contest is completed. If you don't end the contest people might think you didn't pay out.

Possibly add this to it

Once you have finished the contest please tell everyone who won because they might think you just quit it
