Group 1

A: 4 - I can't really make this one out so had to score it a little low, sorry.

B: 5 - Definitely portrays the horror theme, but a bit dark for me.  I would have liked to have seen a bit more contrast and sharpness in the face area.

 

Group 2

A: 8 - Love the mouthful of eyeballs! Colors are  a bit cheery but he looks to be melting and fading away from the light, so nicely done.

B: 6 - he render hits the theme but I think it is too centered which makes the text look off to me.

 

Group 3

A: 8 - I like the render and the double up effect.  Very nice blending job.

B: 4 -  thought we are doing sigs? While the blending and render is good but a bit yellow and the font does nothing for me.

 

Group 4

A: 6 - Decent render and decent blending but it feels like it could use a few more layers to give it a little more punch.

B: 9 - Love this piece and I am pretty  sure I know who made this.  It's made masterfully, but can't give it a 10 since it does not scream horror to me.  Apocalyptic, yes.

This was very tough but here is my try.

 

Ok, here is my second entry.  I had to use the image you liked.  It was abit hard because the original was already so beautiful so it was hard to transform it.

 

Here is my submission.  I will try to make one more, if I have time.

 

Good job on both but the quality of render #2 isn't good. It instantly lowers the quality of the piece. And also, we don't want to flood signatures with just 1 color. A different color fractal on the carnage sig would have looked better because its hard to see the current one on the red background. However, its a nice fractal. I may save it myself

Yeah, the quality is  a bit crummy because I rendered it...lol

LoL, I was knocked out first round. 

 

Cq, I have tried to stand by your decisions the best I can but I was totally un-aware this was going to be a 1v1 contest. Nay, did I realize that it was a "lottery" pick or luck of the draw event. If the highest skilled artists are not moving on (not talking about myself mind you) then what kind of contest is this if there are clear differences in the quality of work. Just something to ponder on. 

 

Good luck advancing artists. 

I kinda agree with Chagryn on this one.  I thought it was a bit weird to be paired up in the first place.  head to head is no fun in  a contest of this type.  Maybe in the second round you give the voters a total of 50 points and they have to disperse it accordingly among all 8 artists. Just my 2 cents.
