So The first World Boss of the game is fun and the pvp twist is great,but there still lies no real incentive to do it. I'm anxious to see non pvp world bosses of course but for this being the start its still quite amazing and fun.

yes there are tons of new rewards you can earn,but they are bound and can't be sold. and this becomes a quick way to take resources from others which is fine because that's he cost of being in pvp. 

requires something that makes everyone want to do it.

new world boss vanity
new weapon vanity 
new world boss weapons that are heroic 
new world boss armor
chance at a higher tiered gem above a defined(not every single kill)
titles
 

any of the above would be fine if not all.

IDK I think this is my fault for placing my expectations maybe a bit too high.

I want titles!  I want it so you are able to select a single achievement that you have done, and choose it as a title displayable to others.  Groped in the shadows... :o

I'd be all for adding something else to it's loot table which had a seriously low drop rate, perhaps gear or vanity. We'll see how it works out over the weekend though.

I'll still say that best weapon in game only from dungeon is not a good idea.

 

LC is not working on the boss.

That is about it.

For now, until i find more bugs.

I do have to agree with others that best weapon shouldnt be from a dungeon..but anything could happen. As for this comment l3fty i seriously hope so. A ton of things need to be added to this world boss to make it a desired event. 

If I had a choice for what to add it would be new world boss weapons,new armors and a title.

meaning and reasons:
1) more variety is very much needed at this point(new world boss armor set(s) ) but dont make it op to devalue dungeon sets.
2) a heroic weapon set,yes a set that is different from usual things...ex: everything has been crossbow,longsword,short sword, I don't see heroic or decent stated large maces short maces or etc ever.
3) title for x kill of world boss.

aslong as it is bound and not lost on death then it gives pve'rs a reason to go there otherwise it just makes it less fun for those who don't pvp and like killing world bosses all the loot gotten from killing the world bosses in ta should not drop on death it wouldn't be fair to the pve'rs who went there to help or just to kill it

Protip, don't enter pvp if you're afraid of losing something (goes for any game).

 

I have no doubt hcs will cater to this suggestion though, they seem to like no risk/reward.

It is great fun, you can go in with a group, and hunt down stragglers, and fight other groups.  Or you can be a lone wolf, and see how long you can last before someone kills you.  Or you can be a hider, farm up all those resources and run away from killers.  (I think I'll spec a running away coward soon, just to see how many will be frustrated trying to catch me :P)  The resource nodes is approximately 2x as fast as the normal nodes outside Trappers, but you lose around 55% (?) of them when you die.  

 

Anyways, I hope crystal powders/wood sap will be added to the smuggled goods, as well as some random mobs for hides and skins :P Not aggressive so you don't accidentally tab target them when a PvPer is running right at you.  

 

Sure wish I have my fabled staff so I can spec out of PvE, and go pure PvP build already.  Or a separate talent/attrib set for Trappers and PvP is implemented.

I was adding crystal powder/sap at the end of the day, oversight on my part forgetting you cant really craft without those. Yeah non hostile mobs might be an idea too. I don't think anyone would be nuts enough to try and farm there though so we can probably get away with not adding farm plots ;)

And, don't forget server hopping to kill the PL, before anyone else has a chance at it, as i've seen a group of players do, exploit? :o

Hmm so you get something for killing players and they lose something for dieing? Like from what I gathered all it is, is you get resources from killing someone and they lose tokens/resources that they've collected. That is a very, very mild form and should in no way be considered a working system if you want good pvp.

 

Unless I'm missing something then apologies, but if someone enters this zone and another enters and kills them after doing nothing there what do they actually get/lose?

Looks likely I'll never do this WB.  With the exception of true team PvP (which requires guilds and a large player base), PvP is something I only casually do to kill some time.  My talents, attributes, and gem selection are all built around maximizing PvE.  As a result I feel nerfed when doing PvP against similar level and geared PvP specialists.

 

The result is, I don't like risk.  I may consider going for some easy resourcing, but I'm not going to fight a WB only to lose it to a cheap shot.

 

That said, I still think the PvPvE boss and Trapper's Atoll is a great idea.  There are certainly enough PvPers to justify the implementation time, and as l3fty said

But now that it's in place, going forward I'd prefer HCS to focus on the overall game and new PvE content.

I am sure i can solo it, maybe i will have to pop a repair kit mid fight, requires pacience though

I was the first to arrive to one the other day and simply stayed 5 min alone fighting him without my hp dropping (red/reju/righteus/bene/spirit)

 

Still i dont know maybe one hour to kill him lol

I would farm their on my alt lol after all I take it there to die rofl just saying really think farming should be there to for the faster gathering just saying

I agree with this guy, solo players won't be able to achieve the best weapons if they are from dungeons, dungeons in my opinion should give good exp from the quests and ordinary armor for people in that dungeon level who haven't found any yet.

Best weapons should come from random mobs.

As for vanity from bosses, I would say yes if I had some kind of vanity closet I can put that in, but since my vault and stash has limited space I'm going to hold off on buying vanity or getting it.

If you could speed up the actions to at least double the speed, then people would farm, because they get smuggled resources too. Doing the actions faster when you are in danger is quite logical, ain't it?

I would definetly farm there either way the resources stack in stacks of 999 taking up much less space I also think the pvpers should get valor for killing us and yes we should drop our resources but they should be destroyed as some pvpers give them back thus not giving us a risk and them no real reward if we have no tokens
