Have so many great memories of this game, after all I'm still playing after over 11 years.

 

I remember attacking that damn level 120ish elite (Ethereal Guardian or something) in the realm via Mountain Path and getting deleveled back to 1 - a classic. 

 

I remember when legendary events were a huge deal. I remember when the Ghostly creature (level 55 LE) was released into the realms and the realm was flooded with players. I remember racing to get kills every ten minutes on xx:x7 because that was when new ones would spawn. I remember selling my 1 or 2 drops for a few fsp and being delighted with myself.

 

I remember someone buying blood bloom plants for 60k from me when they were first released. I just so happened to be level 30ish at the time and hunted in the realm where the relevant creature spawned.

 

I remember winning my first arena. Feralnoob who was a top arena player at the time showed me some tips and I became addicted. I remember when arena rewards were valuable (hint hint), racing other players to join the 16-player tourneys for prizes like Boar Tusks, Fire Stone of Bothild and Xind Essence. Those tourneys would fill up in 1-2 minutes. Arenas would refresh every 15 minutes with dozens taking place every hour. It was also a nice way to earn fsps considering it took me a long time to significantly upgrade my character.

 

I remember when GvG was reworked and it was crazy popular because there were a new string of epics for people to invent. I joined a small guild and we GvGed for a while, earned a nice amount of RP and then the founder bought the RP items, left and we got nothing LOL 

 

I remember when titan hunting first came out, I remember securing our first titan in Legends of Amber. We had multiple hunters and we were one of the top titan hunting guilds for a short time. I remember it taking actual skill (and a fast connection lol) to be good at titan hunting. No teleport, no titan doubler, no flood of epics. I also remember when RP was awarded to the top 5 guilds instead of TKP!

 

But most of all I do remember the people and the thousands of great players who have come and gone over the past decade. I still search some people's player names in hope to see some of them being active recently. I really do hope that this game will somehow pick up a bit more once this app is done. I feel like it's becoming more and more neglected, which is sad. Not sure if there is a point to this thread or if HCS were just feeling sentimental but it felt nice writing this post. Thanks HCS for giving us a great game!

i remmember when i started to play there was only cca 6medals....guildmates told me not to buy fsp for 30k of gold wait when its 22k, took me about a month to buy 1fsp, then i buyed 100bounty tickets and earn more.....

i remember the pvp back then top rated was for the whole game and medal was for only 1. place, the legends back in the days was delux906, seath and darkpig...delux and seath was cca lvl200 holding best player place and darkpig was best pvper, and richest player was holding 5mil. gold....later i remember super elite creatures show up it was mad times on each map with SE 20ppl searching every full hour heaving a full group to kill malphas hoping to get an item then sold it fast for 300fsps, HAHA......later titans, and pvp arena.....

i keep playing coz the game is not limited whit the gameplay there are so many spectars of the game, and u guys always make something new so there is always something to do.....in less then a month it will be 12years i play this game, i never quit or stop playing im here almost every day and i dont intend to stop

I remember when ...

• FSP only cost 75,000 gold
• A Writing Ward cost 3,000 FSP
• UB200 would prevent damage to crystal gear
• There was constantly over 1,000 people online at a time
• I also remember the first time I tried to invent a Writing Ward... and failed
• When we used to delevel ourselves so we could get more GXP
• My guild chat would constantly have 30+ pages of txt
• TEW lost #1 spot
• FS Helper was first introduced (I haven't used it since new map was introduced)
• The race to composing level 60 was something we watched everyday
• I had to figure out how to correctly use Counter Attack Buff to 1-hit based on Doubler level

Most of all I remember all the cool people met along the way that are still friends to this day.

The rise and fall of the trolls

 

As I look into the campfire I recall old events. This is my story & I am the narrator of this tale. In the golden age wars were a common thing, many skirmishes occurred & among them a war between 2 super powers in which I took part in. Not a day went by without blood being spilt, heroes and warriors emerged, as did a certain individual. This particular one started calling himself the strongest in the whole realm, even went as far as crowning himself the leader. He had a deep rage burning inside him towards all races, he started demanding total obedience, dictating who to ally ourselves with, whom to talk to and the list goes on. When confronted by his allies he totally lost it, consumed by rage he started swinging his sword like a madman, attacking allies and enemies alike as his appearance took the shape of a troll. This led to the end of the war with his side losing due to his crazy actions & it is rumored that the mad troll was spotted mortally wounded in the “sacred plains”, waiting for his return …….

 

Unbeknownst to us all another troll was biding his time in the darkness, gathering information & observing those brave warriors. When he first made his move, he was accompanied by his obedient sidekicks, 2 naïve inferior goblins. He was a grotesque creature & unlike his predecessor he prided himself in lying, deceit & cowardice. The 2-faced troll twisted facts to his own liking with the help of his 2 naïve sidekicks & even had a god trusting him. Thus it lead to the realm deteriorating & people emigrating. He basked in the misfortune of others & as the people started losing all hope, a higher god descended enforcing a law that was not to the liking of the troll as he had seen through the trolls lies & deceit. Enraged that he could not find joy in the misfortune of others anymore he vanished, leaving behind his loyal sidekicks with a single message saying “Snow Shrine” …..

 

As time passed the 3rd & most insignificant troll made his appearance. He came from a wealthy family but as a child was neglected by his parents so he sought the attention of others, no matter what, which led to his delusions.  He built himself a secret base underneath his families estate & his wealthy lifestyle was provided by stealing from his grandma. His delusions grew so severe that he was banished from “free speech” which fueled his need for attention even more. He started stalking & pestering “the eternal defenders”, an order he admired by slipping letters under their doors just to get a reaction out of them. Seeing them ignoring him, he applied to join his idols but when they denied him entry his delusions manifested. Even after the troll joined the “laughing stock” order he would at nights stalk each member of “the eternal defenders”, sometimes slipping them letters and every now and then going after their flags, just to satisfy his abnormal need for attention. As I sit around the campfire I make my way back home, feeling the presence of the troll circling around my order excitingly shrieking in a high pitched voice for attention …..

ok so we have one for defending  a relic ,why not have one for taking a relic .

 

now some will say that it will be exploited ,well about as much as the defence one is so that cant be used against it

There are also players who had delevelled 'on purpose' remaining in high level realm in prep for double xp. They are now buggered at the drop of a hat. Ultimately it probably wasn't quite right a level 300-400 player being able to fast track to level 1500, but the easy fix there is to just simply change spawning locations out of those areas for the bigger SE's. That would allow SE hunting, keep the fun and by default limit xp gains to moderate proportions as they already are for a player at level 1500 hitting an SE at 2500.

At the very least there could have been a 2 week warning. Sounds to me like some have complained at the situation and the cows have been observing and developing the fix.

What I really want to know is:

 

Why was this an issue?

 

Aren't we concentrating hardcore on the app? 

 

Seems like that's not the case... so should we really start actually talking about things that really affect the game and player population?

 

Hmmm... nah, really what I want to know is how this became an "issue". Might be handy to actually getting things done. )o0

I remember first signing up to help test an FS app when the idea was first mentioned by hoof, but it was well after 2012.  Late 2014 or early 2015.  And the first version was about a year in the making... idk what app you're referring to.

MediaWiki is simple CMS. Idk how it can be so hard to repair it for devs.

This is like watching footie on the telly and everyone is up in the face of the ref, whining and yelling. As if anyone, EVER, made a referee change her/his ruling due to their complaining

Erm not really!

Personally wont make too much difference to me, but the fact the change is taking place at such short notice is like the referee blowing his whistle and changing goal posts, shape of ball and numbers of players allowed on the pitch with immediate effect irrespective of the cost incurred in building your team.

Double XP Event Incoming



We will be running a Double XP event next week! This means that during the event, all creatures will give DOUBLE their normal xp.

The event will start on Friday the 12th of July at 16:00 hours (Server Time) and will be running for 96 hours.

Wiki login has been more or less broken for some time.  BG is aware of this and says it's been passed on to hoof.  No clue when it will be fixed, but I imagine sometime after the next app update.
