I was always disapointed with Grendeldog, It came from at least 50 trys of different spellings,,in fact Grendl was a friend of mine that was still playing then  

 

I tried Grendel, it was taken by a inactive player. 

I looked it up today,, Grendel is a inactive player that started Oct 2010????

 

Is this right? the name got recycled but I missed the chance?

 

Either way is there any way a player can change their character name? Even if it cost in a upgrade id consider it but if not and you have recycled names can we get the chance to claim one thats similar to our old one that we had wanted??

Yeah, more or less the same thing with guild names which I thought might be possible.. but there is some technical issue about it or something that they can't delete the name because someone created it and has the rights to the name or something like that.

Then how was Grendel taken in 08 then used in 10?

That was the first name I tried and was taken by a player who joined Nov 07

Now player search says one was named Grendel in Oct 10,, check it out.

 

How did someone get that name after another player had it and after I tried and was told it was taken?

I looked him up after I joined he was from 07 and already inactive then.

 

Moreover,,

grendel does not appear to be taken tho I tried it in 08 <---as its still free can I have that please??

Grendel1, grendel69, grendel arent even taken now and Its possable a cap doesnt change the name but,,,

 

thegrendel isnt taken

nor is sirgrendel

or MrGrendel

and Iamgrendel

 

I know I tried them and when I joined they were taken and not allowed,, like I said grendeldog is not really my first choice and if there was any way I could I would have changed to any others I had tried first,, its what this one guy we knew,,, ya know the guy in the burbs who has heard a couple rap songs and thinks hes a gangsta now.

Or for the brits Ali G,,, that was on in England right??

 

I digress he had an annoying habit of calling everyone "Dawg" and as a laugh I put that in,,, guess which one wasnt taken????

Every other MMORPG I've ever played allows for it so I don't see why it's an impossible task. Especially considering the rules limit us to one character. Create an upgrade for it and charge an exorbitant amount of FSPs that increase every time you purchase it. I believe in the people in HCS and I know they can do it despite what is said to the contrary. We are patiently waiting for this epic new upgrade.

I'm sure the cows COULD do it - the issue is whether they WANT to do it

 

I know the issues surrounding it when previously suggested were things like allies / enemies lists, ignore lists and other things like that, but surely, if you change a name, then all previous "attributes" could stay the same ?

 

The only thing I'd like, if they DO allow character renames, is something like :-

 

"Grendle, previously known as Grendledog" or something prominent on the bio stating the old character name ...
