#989934 Relics

Posted by Chazz224 on 06 February 2018 - 17:04

With so many relics in the game now I would like to propose a new action.
Abandonment - The ability to abandon a relic that you have held for a minimum amount of time say 60 or 90 days. This could also include a fee of 25 to 50 FSP. Thoughts?

Given the current list of suggestions to improve this game - I have to say this is not something I or many others would be in favor of. Make some friends pal and ask them to capture the relic you no longer want. Furthermore while I think our "Content designers" are open minded (Cough) this is not something they should be investing time into.

Have a nice day !

#989688 GvG rework proposal

Posted by Chazz224 on 26 January 2018 - 15:06

Once the App is completed, I believe we'll be able to add push notifications to be sent to your phone (i.e. A Guild Conflict has been initiated, that kinda thing.). Don't quote me on that but it would make sense.

~ Grim

Grim, can you elaborate with some specificity? Please...!  That quote implies that there will be no improvements made to the game until the Fallen Sword App is completed, surely this can not be...? No offense but that App has been in development since 2014. I've quit and returned to the game twice so far in that time. At the rate this app is going I'll be making tickets to examine if I can grandfather my account to my child? Let's not wait that long, I'd like to see some new GvG content and other in game improvements while I still have my youth.

Thank you

#972713 Help Promote PvP and make Fallen Sword GREAT AGAIN !

Posted by Chazz224 on 30 November 2016 - 17:56

Let's Make Fallen Sword and PvP GREAT AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!

PvP is apart of THIS GAME !!! *crowd yells yay !!!*

Let's work on a new model for expanding the level ranges so players in game have more potential PvP targets !! *crowd yells YAY!!!*

Let's work towards expanding GvG ranges so players have more viable targets that have logged on this week ! *Crowed again yells YAY !!!!!!!!!!!*

Let's work towards creating a Top Rated List that has a reset so that anyone and everyone can get to the top if they work hard in this game !!! *Crowd yells YAYYYYYYY !!!!!!!!!!!! <---- Also would include PvE aspects as well as many others FYI

Let's encourage more players to take part in PvP - create PvP wars - Spend more Money !!! - Take some levels - Regain some levels !!!!!!!!!! *The crowd ---------- is out on that one still* LOL

Let's talk to our Dev's about creating new upgrades so we can have Higher Hourly Stam ticks so players with small stam banks can hunt 3 and 4 or 5 times a week and those players with 600k Boat Loads of Stam can hunt more than once per year !!

We want to do more - play more - spend more stam - hunt more - SE hunt more - did I say do more? LOL

Hi Chazz224. I know there is PvP Protection but, if burning my full stamina gives me approximately 400k gold each day and a half, am I supposed to spend more than 50% of what I got just to not be attacked? It is a lot expensive. Maybe for high level players is not expensive, but not all of us can afford it. In the end we have two options: give gold back to the game or be a target. An additional bank deposit protects 31.25% instead of 50%. We need gold to level up, to craft, to buy FSP and so on. There is no real protection, even buffs are not guaranteed.

I would like a PvP system good for PvPers and non-PvPers.

Cheers.

This is derailing my topic here - However there are " many "  + " Different " ways to handle being attacked in this PvP game/ environment.  Join a guild - socialize create a network of friends to help educate you in PvP buffs also PvP Gear. If friends and guilds fail to help you solve your issue there is the BB  where friends can help cripple a player by taking five levels from them (while also earning them selves medals and reward money) - IF that doesn't work ... you can invest in PvP protention for a day or a week or more. If that is affordable you can attempt to talk to the attack (be nice while doing this and polite - people like having respect).

So how to deal with PvP attackers?

1. Join a guild

2. Create a social network of friends

3. Help Educate your self in terms of PvP buffs + Gear

4. Use the Bounty Board and help those friends you made get some medals while they help drop that person that was attacking you.

5. Invest in PvP Protection.

6. Communicate with the person attacking you (please be nice and show respect)

7. Level out of the attackers range - Pvpers don't level all too often if they are going to the bb alot (friendly FYI)

Why bother with any of the above? You decided to login - You decided that there is something you like about this game and that you have fun while playing this game. You also found Friends in this game. Many of these reasons are why people take time to "Learn something or participate in something"

Remember upon logging in... this is what? "A PvP BASED GAME so you are signing up to be possibly attacked as someone might be equally attacked by you one day.

Chazz, repeating this mantra really doesn't push your case forward.

Sure PVP is part of the game. But that doesn't mean its a big part of the game. That doesn't imply anything about whether it is dominated by, or should dominate over other aspects of the game. That doesn't mean it has to be a universal part of the game.

And most importantly for discussions like this, this is a mantra about the way the game *is*, and that is something that you are trying to change. That statement says absolutely nothing about needing to change, nor about whether such change should make PVP a bigger---or, indeed, a smaller---part of the game.

MSCruz was trying to find a way to free up PVP for those that enjoy it, without invoking the opposition of those who don't. PVP changes might get a lot further if they showed a similarly broad consideration for desires within the FS community.

PvP is at the heart of this game the numbers are undeniable, you don't have to actually participate in PvP to acknowledge this neither. The core fabric of this game is based on mathematical numbers and this is the heart of PvP - PvE - SE hunting - Arena based players - The numbers are even consistent with Potion making + inventing.

I'm not making an argument that "PvP is apart of the game" - I'm stating a fact, its not a mantra at all its just a game. Hoof should have enabled a warning upon the login - name/ email - pw login ----- BUT than the WARNING - THIS IS A PvP BASED GAME - LOGGING in - Creating an account that you intend to level up means you are authorizing the check box that you are agreeing to take part in PvP.

PvP is the heart of this game - As are the mathematical numbers that the game runs on - without PvP - neither Hoof or Grim would have never got to the PvE aspect of the game.

The Purpose of PvE - is to gain levels so you can use Higher level gear to PvP or .... Re-gain the levels you have lost in PvP.

This game demands attention - people should log on and socialize - and when your character is PvP'd you and your friends can decide how you wish to handle it - BB - single attack - PvP Protection (which is made cheaply available now), but make no mistake - when you log in this is a PvP Game.

-1 on expanding level ranges; the way it is.

But, I have another suggestion:

One checkbox to not get into PvP for non-PvP players. To the others, no level restriction. Everybody happy, I think.

Cheers!

We currently have a system in play for Players who do not wish to par - take in pvp it's called " PvP Protection" you can buy it for a day - a month - doesn't even cost a lot... We do not need a box to check - PvP is Part of THIS GAME !!!!!!!!! =)

#971810 ... a fighting chance?

Posted by Chazz224 on 15 November 2016 - 21:19

Make it simpler. Allow for a 'revenge hit'.

As an option alongside 'ignore' and 'bounty' allow for a revenge hit that can't be bountied.

Might tempt more people in if they know they can fight back without being smashed into the ground by a pvp'ers guild on the BB?

Free hits in PvP  where there is no risk ... wow that's an idea - Can we suggest leveling where it doesn't use stam ? While we are on the improvement list I'd like to just fix Master Thief so that it kicks in 200% for any attack that ends with a victory for a PvPer =D fair right?

Perhaps ...?

Or maybe a little too game breaking perhaps or game killing instead...

PvP in this game is wonderful and works brilliantly - To this I will also add the PvP in this game is more advanced than any other game out there which is also why I came back to this game. There are plenty of options in this game to help beginners learn the concepts of the game, all of which range from mentor's - tutorials - guilds - pvp ladder players - arena players - fs guide - wiki and etc..

As Mzz commented there are also "PLENTY" of "SOLUTIONS" when dealing with a PvP attack. You can reply with an attack of your own, you can bounty, you can ask friends and guild to hit on the bounty.

The posters idea of creating a 24hr period to gear up or counter attack is anti-climatic. There are no win buttons in this game, and perhaps that has frustrated some over time. The beauty of this game remains in its ability to be so flexible regarding how you prefer to dress/gear your character - or BB/ Hit back/ de-level. I don't believe creating a 24 hr cycle will do anything other than disappoint people and cause them to leave the game. This would be like leveling your character up and using all your stam but waiting a week's time to see .... if you lost in any of the combats - receive your levels - gold etc... No no and NO ! This idea is not an improvement to the game this would be horrible of which I can and will not support.

The poster clearly lacks in game experience - and while any suggestion to improve the game in any way is welcomed - I have to say this suggestion is entirley flawed on many levels including the main concept which would also be in contradiction of the game it self.

PvP - promotes activity - log on - talk to friends - see what happened. Wait... what? You wanna wait a week and think about how you should react? LOL Ideas and suggestions are good but talk to people in game - chat with the PvP community this won't work, but I thank you for sharing your idea with us all.

#970990 Improvements to PvP

Posted by Chazz224 on 28 October 2016 - 21:48

I agree with Davros on the collusion issue. However, I would note that collusion will always exist and already does despite the Guild issue. I do think that's part of the game as well.

I also think Chazz that you should separate your post into PvP and GvG suggestions. These are severely different game aspects in my eye.

I have a long-standing thought that the real issue with the BB is how rewards are allocated. I've spoken on occasion about how to reallocate for both sides of the equation.

On the one-hand, not to the detriment of Guilds that strive to protect their members. On the other, making a sliding scale on punishment-payment that will encourage players to bother to post bounties.

I insist on keeping the counter-bounty system.

The payment issue, in my eye, is the major reasons why non-PvPers don't bother to bounty and why Bounty Hunters have no targets.

My suggestion is low on my priority list. Check back in 2020, lmao.

To get right to my opinion on your points:

Firstly. Nope.

Secondly, if there was really an overwhelming game population, there would be more players in each range. Beyond that, leveling out of range is key for levelers. That said, you can level up or down to have more targets if you PvP.

Thirdly. Again, I'd keep GvG separate. But yes... new top rateds based on activity need to be considered. A first shot just on the Guild XP is still being looked at.

Edit... needed to find the quote.

Anyway, this was Hoof's response (which pretty much applies to all Guild rankings and which I think most agree with):

The game has a small population of players at this time - this is why I suggest expanding the PvP Ranges. When I was talking about the over population it was intended to be a sarcastic.

The reason that people don't bounty as often as they once did - is due to the lack of players that are participating in pvp at this time. Any lack of population will slow things down on all aspects. PvP good, bad, indifferent - creates competition among other players and also creates bonds and friendships where it get's people talking to one and other. I've also said that the only reason to level in this game is to have and maintain a tactical advantage over other players, but at the end of the day it's all about PvP. Increased Level - Increased Stats = PvP and tactical advantages over other players. The NPC's were only created to help entertain us in between leveling and PvP...

#970846 Improvements to PvP

Posted by Chazz224 on 27 October 2016 - 01:41

Here in this forum I'd like to make a few quality of life suggestions for the PvP and the game.

- First:

In the PvP Ladder: it seems that Guild mates are unable to compete with one and other this should be addressed. Anyone who has opted into the PvP ladder should be able to compete. However currently if multiple people from the same guild opt into the ladder they are unable to compete this is totally unfair and should be fixed.

- Secondly:

Due to the overwhelming population in this game, I strongly feel that the attack range between Player vs Players needs to be expanded especially in the higher levels.

700 - 999 = Should be able to attack anyone within 25 levels of their own personal virtual level

1000 - 1999 = Should be able to attack anyone within 50 levels of their own personal virtual level

2000 - 3000 = Should be able to attack anyone within 100 levels of their own personal virtual level

- Thirdly:

Above I suggested increasing the range of personal attacks in game, the same should be done for GvG.

In addition the games " TOP RATED " contains many inactive guilds - WHY??? History is nice but it should not hold a place on a Top Rated section of the game. In addition to the TOP RATED being brought up to date I'd like to suggest Quarterly Resets for the Top Rated GvG guilds. By doing this accomplishes clean competition and proper incentive for guilds to compete and not lose focus especially due to the quarterly resets.

Also note that Guild RP packages could use some love as well - Remove older packs and replace with new packs please.

Please feel free to comment - Open to ideas and suggestions.

#869068 Guild Conflict Update

Posted by Chazz224 on 16 May 2014 - 18:50

About this new change, rather than set a level for the GvGs for level 50, why not just set a requirement that a player has to have been playing this game for X amount of days/hours. There are players out there that I am sure are happy as they will ever be under level 50 to GvG, etc. why do we have to push them up to level above level 50 just to play the GvG aspect of the game?

Gomez.

No....

Currently I am content with the level 50 cap regarding GvGs. It's not good to prevent anyone from trying anything out, nor is it fair to limit anyone and say " hey you can't do that cause you haven't played as long as I have. " The overall goal is to make things fun and entertaining for people. We want them to explore and try new things out not limit them. The only reason for the level 50 cap is to make sure no one is discouraged between starting the game and learning how things go.

However that said there are always more things we can do. I would like to see Quest's related to PvP, I'd like to see SE's - LE's that require a PvP rating of XXX or you can't kill it. Little things to inspire and encourage PvP within levels and ranges. Perhaps the creation of a PvP test Dummy players can summon / buff and practice on as well ... Something where more guides and tutorials are shared and put out so players are aware of what PvP is and how to properly defend them selves online or offline. All of the above are positives for players and the game. Years ago Xp was a huge issue but now with global events - donation offers, composing, etc.... Many people are open to the mind of losing a little xp and are understanding it's fun and just like gold on hand or a level it may be lost but can also be easily re-gained, and if players enjoy all the above and can accomplish things in between it's a win win for the player, the community and the game.

#862173 PvP - Days of Glory

Posted by Chazz224 on 12 April 2014 - 00:11

Having spoken with Hoofmaster, we're seriously reconsidering the PvP Ladder system. We're looking to review it, possibly removing it and replacing it with the original PvP system. We think that might help. I personally think the ladder watered PvP down.

I support this idea 100%

I believe our Devs are on the right track with this idea - The Opt in System has proven to be a failure for the community and game as a whole.. Restoring the original PvP ladder seems more positive in the sense that it will encourage more players to take part in the aspect of PvP - encourage others to purchase gear so that they don't appear to be " Bunnies" or easy targets as well, and in return flourish the bounty board with people.

In addition to this idea - I purpose expanding the current attack range as I feel it will help increase the amount of PvP activity in game, especially in the higher level ranges. Presently we are allowed to attack anyone that is plus ( + ) or minus ( - ) 10 levels of our V.L. This new expansion aside from being long over due would increase players options in terms of targets.

I purpose that we slowly increase the attack range of players starting at level 500 through 2000 by ( 5 ).  We gradually increase the players attack range little by little expanding their options. We begin increasing everyone's attack range by 5 starting at level 500 (which would provide players between 500 and 599 a    + or -  ( 15 ) level attack range, presently this is set at 10 through out all levels.)

Given this formula of increased attack range it would appear as follows:

@ Level 500 to 599 any player would be able to attack anyone within + or -  15 levels of their VL
@ Level 600 to 699 any player would be able to attack anyone within + or -  20 levels of their VL
@ Level 700 to 799 any player would be able to attack anyone within + or -  25 levels of their VL
@ Level 800 to 899 any player would be able to attack anyone within + or -  30 levels of their VL
@ Level 900 to 999 any player would be able to attack anyone within + or -  35 levels of their VL
@ Level 1000 to 1099 any player would be able to attack anyone within + or - 40 levels of their VL
@ Level 1100 to 1199 any player would be able to attack anyone within + or - 45 levels of their VL
@ Level 1200 to 1299 any player would be able to attack anyone within + or - 50 levels of their VL
@ Level 1300 to 1399 any player would be able to attack anyone within + or - 55 levels of their VL
@ Level 1400 to 1499 any player would be able to attack anyone within + or - 60 levels of their VL
@ Level 1500 to 1599 any player would be able to attack anyone within + or - 65 levels of their VL
@ Level 1600 to 1699 any player would be able to attack anyone within + or - 70 levels of their VL
@ Level 1700 to 1799 any player would be able to attack anyone within + or - 75 levels of their VL
@ Level 1800 to 1899 any player would be able to attack anyone within + or - 80 levels of their VL
@ Level 1900 to 1999 any player would be able to attack anyone within + or - 85 levels of their VL
@ Level 2000 to 2099 any player would be able to attack anyone within + or - 100 levels of their VL

By expanding the attack range this way it will help higher level players find targets (where as few exist) and encourage other players as well ( by gaining a few more) , but at the same time this gradual increase wouldn't be too much for the community as a whole nor would this lead to " abuse of the bunnies or weaker geared players" given the variety of options.

In addition - I recommend using the Bounty Board for punishment only and to prevent farming of PvP rating (as this was the original problem with this system) and since players couldn't farm the BB for rating this would entice players into attacking other players within their own ranges and in turn of course leading to a very flourished bounty board system.

I would appreciate any feed back - PLEASE PLEASE NO FLAMING THE TOPIC as I know many are very sensitive to such topics. Feel free to agree or disagree and if possible share a logical reasoning for why you agree or disagree, thank you.

#861962 My Suggestions for reviving the Bounty Board (And this is quite radical)

Posted by Chazz224 on 11 April 2014 - 04:05

No offense Grim but I've been waiting weeks to hear some Hoof ideas. While it's nice of you to post yours and relay what's going on behind the scenes, it would be even better to get the big cowmaster himself spitting out thoughts in the forum, like back in the day... He's always been the ultimate say anyways. Enough of all this speculation.

I agree +1

Hoof needs to make some time and say a few words it would be really nice.

Plus I would love to see PvP go back to how it originally was in the first year this game was made.

#861504 My Suggestions for reviving the Bounty Board (And this is quite radical)

Posted by Chazz224 on 09 April 2014 - 18:23

I've stated my opinions on this forum already on pages 2 ( at the bottom) - through 4 as to why I don't agree with the Topic ideas. Some have said I've made Hyperbolic suggestions which only means that some people didn't like my examples feeling they meaning greatly exaggerated in not realistic.

I have a question for Belaric - in this new system Belaric has argued that this change to PvP and the Bounty Board would entice more people to play the game and encourage PvP in it. <----- This being said in this new system - speaking honestly would you Belaric join the ranks of PvP and steal someone's gold knowing that you will be held accountable and lose three levels?  Be honest with the people here sir - it's clear that you Belaric have no PvP medals and no experience in this field but I wanna know would you take part in this idea of yours?

I don't mean you attack someone just once in your lifetime - I mean would you be willing to PvP on a daily basis with this system you are proposing to the community?

I suspect your answer to be a very strong No but if so keep in mind it sincerely should be a strong YES if you are so noble should it not?

I feel differently than Belaric - I've explained many times how PvP ( in it's current state while lacking at the moment has great potential)  PvP keeps people playing - it keeps them " Active - Online " PvP supports the AH and the Buff Market. <------ I've advocated in prior and previous threads / topics  for expanding these areas of the game. It's my feeling that if everyone was well versed and new how to PvP where they would be able to capitalize here and there with the current system more would take part in this which would lead to a healthy bounty board - also a very active community of people.

I don't feel that turning fallen sword into a Sigma Storm will help. I could be wrong about this just as I could be wrong about Belaric willing to join the PvP community. Yes, very unlikely that I am wrong on either account but it's possible. There are numerous threads / topics up at this very minute that support PvP - support the community - ideas that positively help and encourage PvP through out the game, I may not feel this is one or one of the best - however that's just my opinion.

So Belaric if you are not willing to join the PvP community now or even with your new idea - my question is why should any of us? I've told you I wouldn't be one of the people you will see there.... Also Belaric if you are unwilling to 100 stam people and go to the bounty board to lose your level what makes you think anyone else would just curious? <---- Does this sound very motivating and positive for the game ? Sounds like we are talking about killing pvp or making it punishable by the max and than hopping more will join due to this idea - but it was and is my belief we've lost more people due to PvP being nerf'd.
