Dear HCS,

 

Is there any chance that in the near future, we'll see quango island again? It's been over two years now as far as I could see on the Wiki. For some reason, I seem to remember the event being activated somewhere between 2012 and today, but besides being unsure of this, I definitely feel it's been a very long time. 

 

I understand that players are preparing for an early-summer double xp event somewhere in june (I was very happy to hear about it a few times in the past few days), but it would be the top of the tops if you could squeeze in our beloved birds before it!

 

Thank you for your consideration, even if by any chance it turns out to be a negative answer!

quango events are usually around easter i thought. Didn't we just have one?

I'm almost certain we didn't. I've been online nearly every day since I left "fs retirement" in november, and I just can't seem to be able to recall it. If it WAS activated however, I would also be happy to know about it (I have absolutely no idea how I could miss it!), but as far as I got in confirming the last quango event, it seems to have been 2 years ago.

Can't remember exactly when, but I know there's been one since 2012 ..

Springtime is nearly upon us with all it entails and there is talk of another journey to Quango Island in the next few week.

The above quote is from page 8 of the Content Roadmap thread and as you can see dated March 17th. Haven't seen any posts that state a change of plans and I've just sort of assumed they've been busy and it's still set to come out, but that's just assumptions on my part.

Don't we normally get a week advance notice plus a 20% offer during that before week or during the event?

Thanks for the update.  Dedicating time to EOC is good for the game community as a whole!  

Not that it will affect me, but maybe it's time for a Quango Set near EOC and maybe at least one more set between EOC and 1130, which I think is currently the highest Quango set?   Don't mean to be greedy, just know we all love new gear, though I know that could be too much right now and don't want to put off a Quango event indefinitely.

 

For the future, if we the players can be of assistance with ideas about future Quango sets and even quests- maybe a small diverse task group of Arena-PvP-PvE players who could work together to make a couple recommendations for HCS' consideration?  Maybe a series of polls would assist?  Just thoughts - not sure if they're helpful or not

Last time they had an offer either during the event or after the announcement so that everyone could get all that extra FSP.

I have three new Quangos in place and Forn has given them their art. Just need to write quests and create items. But Content and Support work are my immediate concerns though I wish to get to Quango (and Storybook) sooner rather than later.

I'm considering asking for assistance when I get round to writing some new early quests. I want to explain PvP, GvG and the Arena, though I figure those are probably best once the code changes are in place instead of having to retire quests and rewrite them.

BG, what happened to the low level quest that was completed when you reached a certain amount of PvP Rating? I really enjoyed that quest a lot. I think it should still be on file somewhere, right? That one and a few others made like that one would be a good thing to periodically add. Maybe give potion rewards with good defensive/offensive pvp buffs with them to encourage others to do it and thus pvp a bit as well.

 

As to Quango. I enjoy these kinds of periodic quests myself. Gives incentive to be constantly active so I don't miss something.

It's exciting that you may solicit player assistance on new quests and yeah, your reasoning around implementation timing is logical.
