Arthur put his hands on Amy's shoulders, and knelt down in front of her. "You have to breath slowly, take it easy"

Gallen breathed a heavy sigh, relieved that they finally gave up. He looked around him with a grave look on his face. So many dead, and for what, what could have been worth so much carnage. He walked over to arthur and amy. "Looks like it was all a bit much for her. Can't say as I blame her. No one should have to see such things. We should leave as soon as possible so they can return and bury their dead. No one deserves to be left out in the open to preyed on by the crows."

Arthur looked up at Gallen "your right, we should leave. Get further away then rest up"

"lets go, Amy can you walk" Arthur stood up taking one last look at the carnage.

she slowley tries to stand her legs are shaky she then falls to the floor on her knees "no...sorry" she looks away at the floor with a disappointed look on her face

Gallen knelt down in front of Amy. He looked worn out and had many cuts on him, but he managed to avoid any serious injury. "Here, hop on my back. I'll carry you till we are somewhere safe and can rest." He looked back and gave her reassuring smile.

she falls asleep while being carried as the group begins to walk

Arthur moved along at the back of the group, watching the forest for signs of returning natives, but as they moved along his uneasiness wore off.

He Looked over at his friends, Gallen carrying the sleeping Amy and iggy, and smiled that he had such good friends.


Arthur called ahead "We Should make camp soon, its getting dark and the area looks safe enough"

Gallen looked back and spoke in a low tone so as to not wake Amy. "I suppose your right. Besides Amy could use a proper bed. Can't imagine my back is very comfortable."

Arthur gave a quiet chuckle, and looked off through the trees ahead he could see the twinkle of lights from a nearby village.

"Lets See if we can get a place to sleep over there gallen" Arthur said

and began walking off towards the village

"Capital idea my friend. Nothing like a warm bath and a cool drink to wash away the wear and tear of battle." Gallen smiled and started following Arthur. "Come on Iggy, don't get left behind."

Arthur entered the village and looked round, to his left, he could hear a ruckus coming from what must be the tavern, and to his right was the inn, or looked like a inn. it had the sign of the inn, and the look of a inn, but it was the most dilapidated place he had ever seen.

He looked at it in amazement, at the broken windows and the the roof that looked like it might collapse. "Well its better than the floor" he thought to him self "Ill leave it till later, to the pub!"


he walked to his left and entered the buss ling tavern. As he entered everyone looked at him, and the place went quite.

Gallen stood between the two buildings torn. On one side, his favorite establishment in any town. On the other, was his duty to Amy to see to she got a nice bed to sleep. After a minute of deep consideration of the two he decided he could wait a few more minutes to have a drink and went to get Amy a room at the inn.

The interior of the inn was not much better than the outside. Much of the furniture was dusty and some of it broken. Obviously this village does not get too many travelers but it would have to do. He went over to the front desk. There was an old man sleeping in a chair behind it. Gallen rang the bell and the man leaped up from the chair in a start.

"Oh dear, forgive me, must have fallen asleep for a minute there." The old man was still trying to wipe the sleep from his eyes. "How may I help you?"

"I'd like one room for now for this young lady," Gallen said as he pointed to the girl on his back. "We will likely need more a little later this evening, but she has had a rough day and could really use some immediate respite."

The old man looked simply overjoyed. "A customer, oh splendid. We don't get many folks coming all the way out here." He yelled over to what must have been the kitchen door. "Agatha, we have some guests. Get a room ready" An elderly woman came out of the kitchen in a hurry.

"Right away sir," she said as she starting heading up the stairs. She turned to Gallen and Amy. "Follow me if you would."

Gallen complied and they arrived in a small room. It was in much the same shape as the rest of the building but there was no hole in the room nor broken windows. The maid laid down fresh blankets and started tidying up the room. He waited for her to finish and leave the room.

"Have a pleasant evening sir," She said. Gallen thanked her and she left. He laid Amy on the bed and pulled the covers over her. He smiled at the sight of her sleeping. "Sweet dreams," he whispered and then turned to leave and head over to the inn.

she woke up her eyes were squinting "huh?... Gallen" she looked down and realized she was sleeping she smiled "thank you Gallen." she didnt get to finish her sentence before she fell asleep

Arthur felt awkward. Every single person was looking at him. so he looked down and saw what they must be looking at he was covered in blood.

Arthur quickly pulled off his surcoat and chain mail and stuffed it in his bag, just leaving his white shirt on, and made a beeline to the bar.

behind the bar stood a overweight barman using the dirtiest cloth to clean glasses.

"excuse me, could i get a pint of ale please my good fellow" Arthur said to him.

the barman gave a grunt and started to pull the pint, and gave it to Arthur.

Arthur stood at the bar and looked at looked around the tavern. There were the regulars laughing away to the friends talking about the days events. But his eyes kept crossing to the men in the dark corner with big black cloaks on. For some reason he had a bad feeling about them, but he shrugged it off. the past few months had been bad, and he had come to see evil and no good rapscallions all over the place.

Arthur picked his ale up and took a swig

Gallen didn't say a word. He simply looked back and smiled at her and then left. He hung his gi up on his way out and then headed for the tavern. When he entered he got a few glances which he attributed to his rugged good looks and not his tattered pants spotted with blood. He saw Arthur and sat down beside him. He looked to the bar tender and slammed down a massive mug onto the bar. It was more a pitcher than a mug.

"Fill this up with the strongest ale you got my good sir." The bartender raised a brow at the large mug but simply grunted and filled it up. Gallen took a swig and turned to Arthur. "Amy is fast asleep so we can relax and enjoy ourselves without having to worry. Hopefully she will be feeling better in the morning." Gallen smiled and started drinking some more.

"Yeah she has had a few long days" Arthur said "hopefully we can have a few days when nothing bad happened s" He took another gulp from his drink and though of the past couple of days the battle with the natives, and the return of Amy.

He had missed not having her around, even though he didn't show it, he felt there tight nit group was missing a big part of it and only now did it feel back together again
