The next few days were unsettling to say the least for both Claude and his new house guest. If only she would do as he asked of her, he growled as he watched her skip off down the street to the tavern she favoured. Vampires gazed at her from either side openly hostile, yet she seemed totally oblivious to it. This was the first night she walked alone, for the previous ones he had shadowed her, warding off those who might cause her harm ‘by accident.’ However, on this night, she had refused his company.

As Seraphim lay sleeping A cold breeze caused him to shiver and awaken.
Walking to the large frame window he stood looking at the night-time sky.
He could hear the the voice of an elderly woman echoing in his mind...
