As a Harmonica player, i myself find the word 'Flute' to be very offensive )

You wouldn't consider a person greedy if they did need or greed on every drop? In other games, I usually use pass unless I want it. I guess that's a bad idea if everyone is the same level.

 

From my experience, people that join a game and immediately ask for repeated favors, do not play the game long. The more of a challenge a game is, the more likely they are to enjoy playing it. So, I would say that helping people is fine, but you're not doing anyone any good if you carry them along so far that they lose interest in the game.

 

Also, new players tend to be oblivious to the chat box, since there is too much going on. From personal experience, people with trouble in English tend to neglect or be oblivious to what we would perceive as "good manners." I use to get upset at the tone of voice that some people would use on forums, until I realized that it happened quite a bit from people from a specific country, and there was no ill intent in it.

 

That said, I do understand what you mean, and I fully back what you are saying. See you on the farm.

Agree with everything in the thread except the title word Man   a joke though I know its a parable. 
If sometimes I delay in replying to messages in game its only because I am translating the message in Google translate and translating some of my reply. 
So far I have been lucky as most people in game have either shown each other respect in gathering or messaging.

Well, it seems we still have these selfish players in game (or maybe haven't read this thread) i did Odhar Scar to help a player and he/she chose need on every single drop and chest, then not a word of thanks after the run (nor a word during the run) he/she knows who they are if they read this thread and i'm seriously thinking of starting a name and shame thread (don't want to go down that road just yet) obviously this player is not new to the game as he/she can do Odhar, therefore should know to only choose need on gear for class and also know how to spell thank you.

 

Hello, I agree with being polite in the game. However I strongly recommend not to start a name and shame thread, even if you just thinking about it.

 

It can effect players and situation can get out of control very fast.

I'm having a very hard time imaging Fiz being impolite to anyone who was polite to him.  I'd be curious to know what he did, but forum rules mean you can't say.

 

Yes, if a player was impolite, a beggar, inviting him to groups without asking first, needing, asking for help and then not listening, or otherwise ignoring MMO etiquette.  But you're none of these Gog, which is why I don't get it.  Yet what I saw was someone often helping new players.  Usually ready to lend a hand, as long as you asked in chat first.
