#994397 Hello Everyone!

Posted by GrayNight on 24 October 2018 - 10:41

Hey there!

Just in case you were wondering who this 'GrayNight' character was, appearing in the admin guild like some sort of maniac, I thought I'd introduce myself. It's always a little intimidating joining a new community, especially one so well-established, so bare with me here!

It's an honour to be working at Hunted Cow, as part of the Fallen Sword team, helping to bring the game to mobile with a sleek new User Interface. I've not been here long but you seem like a great bunch, and I can't wait to contribute to your Fallen Sword journeys!

All the best,

GrayNight

Heh heh. I liked the thieves theme so every item has a different word for stolen in it but I decided the item name should alliterate because I enjoy a little word play. Got harder after the seventh! Called in aid from Anakiro and she came up with a few corkers. biggrin.png

#989959 My introduction and a couple of development screens

Posted by kamicazer7 on 07 February 2018 - 14:17

Hello everyone, hope you are all fine.

I'm creating this topic to introduce myself as the newest team member of Hunted Cow, and also to give you guys an update on the client development.

A little bit about me:
I have been interested in programming since I was 6 years old, starting with the old Logo program for kids.
Throughout my studies, I have developed several small personal game projects and professionally medical and corp training games.
My latest job as a games tester gave me the opportunity to work with a lot of different game concepts and to get a grasp of where the games industry is going towards.

I am now working on the Fallen Sword client, with my first contribution being on the development of the Level Up screen.

levelUpScreen.jpg

levelUpScreenHint.jpg

The idea is the same as the Browser client, however it functions a bit different. Instead of clicking on each stat to add, the player can click to add or remove one point each time or hold the button to add automatically, then pressing the level up button to confirm all points.
The description of each attribute can be displayed by clicking on each.

Please let us know if you have any inputs on this.

Cheers,

#989773 My work at Hunted Cow... So Far!

Posted by JustConix on 30 January 2018 - 17:13

It has been just over two weeks since I started working for Hunted Cow and I am pleased to tell you that I have been hard at work on the Fallen Sword Mobile Port! My first task at the company was to create a new and improved quest book based on the one found on the web page. This task is nearing completion and I am happy to share a couple screenshots of my progress!

ActiveQuests.jpg Quest Details.jpg

Filter By Letter.jpg Quest Search.jpg

As you can see from the above images, the quest book is now displayed as an overlay to the main game and will display all the same information that can be found on the Fallen Sword website! We have worked hard to compress a large amount of information onto a single screen while keeping it easy to read and navigate.

Most of the layout is the same however you may notice a few differences. An obvious difference is that we are now using a drop down menu to display the options used to filter quests instead of the line of options that display them on the website. Another difference is that seasonal quests and normal quests use a single toggle button instead of the two individual buttons on the computer version. These quests can be toggled using the "Normal" button at the top right of the screen. The guide button still works the same way it always has, however it has now been given a new home tidily away on the details screen. A not so obvious change is that all quests will be displayed in a single list saving you flicking through pages upon pages of quests to find the one you want. We have also added a search bar to allow players to quickly search for quests by name.

We hope you like these changes and are happy with the progress made over the last couple weeks. I will try and post updates regularly and keep you all in the loop as the mobile port is develops.

But before I go, I have one more announcement to make. Next week we have another programmer joining the Hunted Cow team and will be working alongside me on this mobile port! I hope you are all as excited to meet him as we are!

Anyways, That's all from me for now, Catch you all later and Happy Hunting! :)

Posted by Zue on 22 June 2017 - 11:28

Hi there everyone!  ^_^

I just wanted to introduce myself to you all.  I'm Zue, and I'll be helping out with Fallen Sword support from now on.  I also assist our Operation: New Earth players, so you may have seen me around their forums if you play that as well.

I have a passion for gaming just like the rest of the Hunted Cow team, and I look forward to getting to know all of the regular players around here.  :)

#970059 A Beginner's Guide to Game Mechanics and Survival (PDF)

Posted by inderekt on 09 October 2016 - 23:00

Update: I have decided to remove the download link for now as I've been getting a lot of requests to where my file is hosted and do not have an alternate storage location at this time. Additionally, I believe it may be prudent that if interest in such a guide continues, major updates are done so that it is aligned with the state of the game. Thanks for all the views over the years! Have fun!

Note: Document is in final state at this time as of 27 October 2021. Link has been updated per newest Google standards since this post.

UPDATE: 10-Oct-2016
PDF now available for download in link provided below.

Guide Revision................1.0
Compatible Game Version.......1.3.x

Hello fellow New Earth citizens!

I have been working on a guide for players to learn the main concepts of the game.  The guide is 64 pages in length with a cover page.  The hope is that it can ease the learning curve that new players experience when playing this game.  Through asking questions and getting some tips from my fellow alliance members of The Hive, I was able to create this finished product.

The guide took me numerous hours to complete over the course of a couple of weeks, with most of it going towards research, screenshots, editing and formatting, and of course the composition of the document.

I welcome feedback on the guide and will keep the major components of it updated as changes are made to the game through updates.  Keep in mind that I did not receive any sort of assistance from the developers in creating this guide nor any sort of monetary contributions.  I did it in hopes of helping new players (some veterans may find it of interest as well).

The PDF is around 8MB in size.  It's a good thing I am providing the PDF as the Word document was around 77MB in size. wink.png

>> Download the guide in PDF format (REMOVED)

Note: the table of contents may not be clickable when viewed in browser.  It is recommended to download the PDF to enjoy the capability to click on the section you want to go to via the table of contents.

Developers:  Thanks for allowing me to share the PDF with fellow players!

Thanks and enjoy!

Can you add this in for Halloween event please. These guys walking round EC are the same size as us so its not like you need to make the design for the vanity.

Just let us obtain and wear it :)

Make it for achievement for killing 20k of those things and I will go do it...

Posted by SagaTeller on 21 October 2015 - 16:26

If you could go ahead and let us know where you are when you find incorporeal tree stumps, we could find them and fix them up. :)

1. Crannoch castle, when u first enter the castle and go down the stairs -> wall next to stairs have tiny hole (still shows wall) that u can pass through.

2. Defiler room, one of the corners u can go inside.

3. Near that Lady/Queen boss there's parts of wall that u can go inside.

Not gamebreaking or anything u can take advantage of, so I just report them here.

#887662 Tea: the tale of the missing beverage

Posted by Savanc on 28 August 2014 - 14:29

After looking for it for weeks I can safely say there is no tea at all in Eldevin.

For a UK based game this seems like a rather huge oversight.

How on earth can a game survive without a proper cup of tea?

Therefore I suggest the Cows introduce tea to the game.

The easy (but boring) way would make the shopkeepers sell tea alongside the water and beer they are selling.

A much more interesting way would be a quest that makes you make your own cup of tea.

First you get some materials to make a cup or glass. Peter the glass maker in EC can help us with that.

Next we grow tea at a farm. Tea can be low level because everyone should have access to it.

Then we get some water (from a well) and boil it. This can be done at the cooking area or the alchemist. And now we add the tea to make a proper cup of tea. Depending on the tea we may add milk (cooking ingredient) or lemon juice (alchemy ingredient) to it.

Last but surely not least, we share the proper cup of tea with our friends. ;)

And since a cup of tea a day isn't too much to ask this quest can be a daily one. B)

The reward of making, drinking and sharing this cup of tea may be a few artisan awards and a nice group buff. Or something equally nice that the Cows think of. ;)
