Official Asylum Records: Due to a syphilis infection that was not treated until its advanced stages, Charles had succumb to an incurable madness. In his delusion, he believes that a group of "Cadaver People" live in hollowed out spaces behind his eyes.

Going into further depth, these "Cadaver People", Charles believes, gain power by stealing his brain waves while he dreams. Once they become strong enough, they "play with the bad wiring in his spine" to control his actions.

Charles believes that brushing his teeth creates fumes which make these "Cadaver People" become sick and weak. This is his "only defense."

All and all, I believe that Charles is, to say the least, an interesting subject of the effects of Acute Syphilitic Meningitis
