#792822 The most depressing medal...

#792819 Composing - In Detail (Revision 1.1)

Posted by RebornJedi on 02 June 2013 - 16:37

Every time HCS does something like this it makes the old-school power levellers achievement just that little bit less.

in my eyes, it makes them a little bit more..

gotta keep in mind this game has evolved from an old school dungeon crawler with wild west PvP rules and Item farming events to a game of many aspects and playing styles. when potions were introduced, thats when the crack addictions began

You always need a "dont care" option.

They made it so you can cancel your ad and most people with a brain do so after the sale of whatever it was or other timely thing.

While its a ok idea (news box has it and that helps a lot too) you can check the activity, SE or chest log or other stuff to see if the ad is still going and a stamp would just be work that could be done on other stuff thats already been announced as getting done.

so I can only vote no

#792629 Composing - In Detail (Revision 1.1)

Wouldn't it be refreshing that a " new player " joining the game is actually on equal footing with everyone else with regards to Composing. Might even keep them playing. ;)

you silly, willy

#792012 GvG and New Players.

Posted by RebornJedi on 29 May 2013 - 15:42

My vote was Yes but i think the GvG protection is good untill lvl 25... lvl 50 is way too far and some people join in for PvP and once they start loving it they level and make more levels.. others get to GvG for making FSPs and upgrading their character and making it at lvl 50 will seem a far distance to my opinion!!. . .

If a new player is brought into a helpful guild and instructed about the Epic quest line, game mechanics, and buffed properly they can easily make it to level 30-50 in ONE run.. in the guild i am in, seems that most players get the taste for GvG/PvP after level 50-75+. after being able to wear a variety of sets and seeing a lot more of the game.. most are just excited about making levels at the start.

#792005 GvG and New Players.

Posted by RebornJedi on 29 May 2013 - 15:31

A time limit for GvG protection would be way too messy.. finding targets and what not.. might as well link it to a level like what BigGrim is suggesting..

GvG should start after level 50..

Think it might be tricky to introduce and instruct this aspect of the game, just like many others.. the best way to do it is just to point the player to the GvG Conflict page..hard to do if they stay guildless but i think it should be up to the Guild to fully instruct players on certain aspects..

GvG being one of them. hard to make a quest where you GvG but other aspects like Super Elite, Titan Hunting, PvP, etc can be done with a quest easily without throwing TOO much information their way..

#791364 Booster Packs coming soon...

Posted by RebornJedi on 26 May 2013 - 16:38

to respond to the above post: i'm gonna assume that HCS has an agreement with the gaming sites to help with advertisement on both ends.. they tell us about the sites to get a bonus > we visit > excellent advertisement for gaming site.. would make it worthless if we could get bonus in game and never leave the shell that is fallen sword. we all know there are other games out there. i don't think HCS cares or is worried that we will play them. because most likely, a lot of us already play other games but still choose to come here as much as we want to.

we are not FORCED to do anything. if you don't want to support a site that is helping support the game you play, then have guildmate or stranger toss you a code. tis an easy work around... if you are worried about people leaving, how about you go to these sites and give a fantastic review of fallen sword to get more new players here to replace those who have jumped ship ;) just a thought..

#789820 New Idea's for the game

Posted by RebornJedi on 17 May 2013 - 21:02

i don't like the idea of a low level only XP event.. would see a LOT of multiple accounts being created during it. plus i think it would screw with top monthly for the months these events pop up in..

i'm ALL for some creature kill'n, set loot'n, plant farm'n, potion brew'n, item craft'n events for the lower levels!! it's these events and aspects that got me hooked on the game. who cares if these items and low level potions flood the market. lets just give these players some fun exciting events to join in

For those with spare, overflowing, or just TOO much stamina here's a great way to help out new players into the game!!

Bookmark the New Player List or alternatively go to the Actions > Find Player > Click the button near the top "View New Player List"

Randomly check it out to see if anyone has joined up that could use your help!

Helpful Leveling Buffs

Adept Learner

Librarian

Conserve

Treasure Hunter

Merchant

Animal Magnetism

Light Foot

Reckoning (oh how i wish i was level 900+)

Overkill

Stalker (if they are wearing a complete set.. will help them learn what the Elite Hunter enhancement is)

NO DOUBLER.. just a preference but i feel like they will get to enjoy the game more without it in the start. especially if they start with the Epic quests

Questing Buffs

Find Item

Quest Finder

Resource Finder (invent/extract not really needed at lower levels)[/list]

Be ready to explain any or all buffs!!

Have a copy/paste explanation/s in your Notepad for easy access if need be..

#788498 So just in case someone out there is against it,,,,

Posted by RebornJedi on 05 May 2013 - 19:44

That is a nice idea that someone should make a post about! I personally think every 20 min would work just fine especially when deflect has won many last hour ladders.

wasn't making a suggestion.. just pointing out that you shouldn't be able to hit someone more than once an hour.. deflect is the only way some can even compete due to other player's activity level.

the ladder's rules work fine how they should. except for the bounty board being involved..

take away the bounty board, add in new shinys to fight over, and make the ladder system more mobile efficient (easy to view stats, buff up, drink potions, change combat sets, etc)

#788432 will there be an even for this easter?

#786321 Potions / Items for new players...

Posted by RebornJedi on 23 April 2013 - 00:06

Same things goes for buffs. I bet there are many new players using their points in damage and then get Rage as skill, and things like that.

i notice a LOT of new players getting Rage and i just wonder what their Attributes are.. i think those type of 'base stat' increasing buffs are confusing. especially when in the Character menu, its labeled Attributes and in that page, they are some what labeled as 'level points'. then for the column for the amount of the attribute it's labeled as  Current Value (Base)

i wonder if you get a free reset nowadays? i'm gonna assume and say no because we were never given one my entire time playing this game.. usually if the new players get something, we get some equal value reimbursement

i'm not really for HCS suggesting what to put your level points into based on your playstyle.. you'll eventually find out what you need them for by word of mouth from other players.. some new players ask me what they should put them in, which gives me a chance to explain to them. player fueled questions or guidance should be the route for learning where to locate those points.

don't think new players should be assigned to an active guild automatically.. no player should be forced to do anything they don't want to. BUT guilds should be explained to news players (don't know if they already are).. i've had new players who haven't played other MMOs and were wondering what guilds were exactly.

i know some things should be left to be uncovered and discovered while you play the path of the Fallen Sword but some things can't be left up solely to player interaction/word of mouth..

all in all, i hope this new player revamp brings older, experienced, bored, helpful players into the field of assisting new players with starting off on the right foot. if more players just checked the New Players Listunder the Find Player page and tossed out some buffs, copy/paste or on the spot helpful information, or just a warm greeting i could see this community raising a wonderful, excited new generation of players.

lets not forget THE CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE!! lol  :P

ive seen lots of older even middle aged players complain about how Fallen Sword is dying blah blah blah.. but aren't willing to take the time to be there for the new/er players. which in turn will help secure and grow our game's population.. HCS isn't the only community that makes the game.. we do too!!

#785119 Are there Forum Skin Options?

Posted by RebornJedi on 17 April 2013 - 01:01

If there are more themes added, please be sure to keep this one as an option. My computer room stays fairly dark, and light/white pages are hard on the eyes, so dark pages are preferred.

i also enjoy the dark side...

#777957 Guild Invitations

Posted by RebornJedi on 12 February 2013 - 16:42

Can we get a link to the inviting guild in the Join a Guild page OR even on the invitation itself??? currently there are no hyperlinks in the invitation list on the Join a Guild page. The guilds that you can apply to have links, but not from guilds who personally invited you..

as of now, i have to go to the A-Z List and type(or copy/paste) the guild's name to search them up..even if the invitation came with a link to the player's profile(only has link to Join a Guild page) i'd be only two clicks away from seeing what guild is trying to recruit me..this has got to be a bit confusing for new players when they just get invitations with no recruitment message.
