He's the Demon on the Forbidding Island. Is he supposed to be killable? I can get maybe 1/3 of his health before dying. Has anyone managed to take him down?

Are you the same lvl as him? I was full warrior and 2 lvl under him. In no way was I able to beat him because I kept missing, glancing or he dodged. Then I retried 1 lvl under him and got him. The thing is, you don't actually kill him. You have to lower him enough so he flees. Make sure you have a lot of potions, that you are buffed up and that you start drinking potions as soon as possible to not get screwed by their cooldown.
If you need help whisper me in-game (unless the quest is a solo-instance, then I don't think I can help).

I'm 1 lvl over and I'm having the same problem he keeps evading and 50% of my attacks arent doing anything. It is a solo-instance I already tried to bring someone with me.

It must be something about his melee defense or dodge, because I've just won the fight without any troubles on my ranger and I don't remember anything hard about him when I was fighting him with a healer. Maybe for melee classes it's a hard fight, but for others it's more like a standard solo boss fight.

Well that sounds about right considering everything else is somewhat easier for melee users, its only fair that something is harder for us.

took me a little bit to work out the right tactics as a ranger, by which time I was 1 level higher, but with the right tactics (potions, familiar etc.) I had no problems.
Robet (Proph 49) Orbet (mage 49) Ebrot (magepro 49)
Tebor (warsin 49) Orteb(sin 49) Beort (warsin 49 - might become tank)
Betro (ranger 49) Trobe (??? 6 - there for bene runs - just whisper)

I just did this at two levels under with a templar. My problem was once I got him down to 1/2 health, he kept healing himself faster than I could damage him. I just kept him around 1/2 health never gaining or losing ground. I thought I figured out his strategy, that he would actually heal me instead of himself...but I could only get that to work a few times and then it didn't seem to work any more so he healed back up to 1/2 again. I finally put away the sword and shield and took out a 2 hand axe and beat on him more that way. Took me about 20 minutes and quite a few potions, but he finally flew away. I was just in standard crafted gears with no special buffs.

I had the same issue. It is possible with VERY well timed tremors to break his heal, but if you miss one it goes back up by alot...
