#915509 Super elites have died....

Posted by BadPenny on 15 January 2015 - 19:15

Hmm.. NG, if only big titan hunting guilds can secure titans... however did those in the tiny guilds, like my friend B______, do it.  They do it consistently, not as often as the big guilds, like mine, or those others, but they do accomplish it, and on a regular basis.  It's a matter of teamwork for titans

Back on topic.....

Hoofie, I'm a relatively new SE hunter, late to the game cuz of my affinity for PvP.  Fix the gear, change it, whatever, but make SE hunting an attractive venture again.  For me to be able to run kill one hours after it's left in global chat is unacceptable.

Oh, the ones in Paladir Forest East , and Randal Caves level 4, especially, command a lot of stam for travelling.  With Twinkle Toes running, it costs approximately 500 stam to get to Ramdal Caves level 4 when you have to use the secret passage... And Luz likes to show up in that spot.... And an anything that shows up  in Paladir Forest East can be almost as costly.  SE hunting, like bounty hunting, has become a money pit.  Can we do something to reduce these costs somehow?  Please.

#915501 Gear Donation Center

Posted by BadPenny on 15 January 2015 - 18:42

This is a really sweet idea.  I especially like that it's donated stuff.  I would even donate whatever SE drops I got, as I never sell them anyway (they just end up fragged in the end).

As for a limit  of items bought.  This could be okay in theory, but as quickly as lower levels progress, and with the many gear changes thereof (have we forgotten how often gear changes are between 1-200?)  I don't think a limit is fair.  This would only penalize that new guy who knocks the epic quests out with a quickness and hits 100 in a couple of days.  That would be wrong.  However, a limit for us big dogs would probably be a good idea, especially as many items we have will be kept for hundreds of levels.

All in all, this is a great idea, especially for players that have limited resources.

One more thing.  Donors should get some kind of incentive... like the angel pins you get when you donate to the United Way (yeah I have one of those, I wear it on my coat proudly)  It doesn't need to be valuable, in fact shouldn't be.... Maybe just a mention on one's bio would suffice...  Or we could bring back Karma (institute it?)

BTW Bound items are ineligible for fragging guys

#915498 An idea to help improve the PVP Ladder

Posted by BadPenny on 15 January 2015 - 18:28

I agree, the mass loss of XP via the ladder is stupid.  It's not the primary reason I hate the ladder system as it is today (the lack of activity is my big problem) but it's right up there.  They took XP loss off the table for bounty hunters when they lose a battle.  Hopefully under the new tournament system, XP loss will be a thing of the past.  There was a lot of controversy about XP loss in the not so distant past.  Many wanted it taken completely out of PvP, whereas just as many clamored to have it stay.  It was deemed it would stay, as far as I know.  IDK how the new tournament system will work.  I sincerely hope it's not pillow fighting, like GvG, or PvP in the dark like the arena.  I do wish that XP loss be at least minimized for this endeavor, if not removed completely, as this is an opt in competition, and I don't see how XP should possibly fit into the equation.  And why should we have to sacrifice XP to be in a contest?  Give me an entry fee, in gold.... I promise I'll sacrifice my XP when I steal it :P

#915495 Different Type of Global

Posted by BadPenny on 15 January 2015 - 18:16

Ok, then instead of the creatures dropping frag stashes have them just drop common items we can give away to whom ever we please. Much simplier.

I would have to disagree with this.  If you want to farm items, farm items.  Globals are supposed to be off the scale.  And they're about sharing, not profiting.

I, like Chewy, collect my frags from global beasties 1 x 1, because I compose, and I want to catch him in levels someday.  Although I know lots that have massive BP space for farming, etc, I would imagine the majority of us do not.  I prefer the ease of plodding along, fragging everything in sight.  I'm sure almost all of us do this during a frag event (not the 1 x 1 part, although I doubt Chewy and I are the only crazy people around here).

I reiterate.... a global event is for sharing.... It's so all of us can stock up.  But it's not made for us to go about the farming of commons for others. If they made it so we could send items or frags to others during an event, it would cause bedlam, and tbh, I think less would participate, as people are lazy and self centered for the most part.... and those that typically do the bare minimum at best would just sit and wait for somebody to be sending them free stuff.... How would this be good for Erildath?  I don't see how it could be at all...

#915120 Guest Players

Posted by BadPenny on 13 January 2015 - 21:14

I don't see how naming a character first off or later or will make a whole lot of difference, TBH.  Maybe I'm missing something here, but naming my character when I start a new game is an extremely important step to me.  What gets me started on a game and keeps me going, however, is how the game is introduced, how the devs of said game have set things up to teach me how to play it.  And I try a lot of new games all the time.  No, I'm not looking to replace FS, I don't think there is a game out there that ever could.... but I do play many games.  And I do prefer to be able to personalize my character first off when  I start a new game.  It helps me to feel that I am part of things, and that I will fit in.  I think that feeling is an important one for any newcomer.  Maybe I'm wrong, IDK, just saying.....

#914837 Guild Visiting - Players interaction idea.

Posted by BadPenny on 12 January 2015 - 13:29

When I left WK, I had considered taking a "World Tour".  Leaving my guild was a tough decision, as I sacrificed a Ruby medal when I did, and burned a bridge behind me in the process.  I'm not complaining, mind you, I know I will always be part of their family, and I love my new one as well...  But the option to take a short vacation may have changed my final decision.  Taking tours used to be a big thing with vets in the old days.  DarkArchon did it, Phool did it.  I think Mzz has done it too.  For this to be an option for these players to do this without it costing a guild and the player as it does now may be a good thing.  And with restrictions in place to prevent abuse, I don't see how it could be a bad thing.  I like it.  IDK if it will fly, but I do like it.  It has the Penny Seal of Approval ™ :P

#914836 game suggestion

Posted by BadPenny on 12 January 2015 - 13:22

If possible could we get some filters for the inventing section even with folders it can be long winded trying to find a recipe and it only gets worse as the game goes on as we cant delete old recipes.

a-z or a search function would be great

And about deleting unneeded recipes.  Most of mine were for quests.  I don't need to make those things anymore.  Can we have the option to at least hide those?  I mean I made a folder for them, but even at my low level, that folder alone is already 5 pages long.  Come on, it's kinda dumb we can't just delete those when we finish the corresponding quests.....

#914752 Speaking of Pride

Posted by BadPenny on 12 January 2015 - 00:57

I'm not saying I don't derive great joy from my pursuits.  Even losing levels can be fun if you look at it in the right light.   But I think of it this way.  We have diamond bounty hunters, SE hunters, Titan hunters.... There has always been fun in doing these things, the last can be very profitable, SE's not so much, bounty hunting, well, it's always been a money pit.  We bounty hunt for fun AND the medals.  My point is, it takes a lot of time and effort, not to mention a true cash investment, to achieve a Diamond medal for any of these things.  I'm sure our top bounty hunter did it for fun, not recognition.  HOWEVER, shouldn't his efforts  be recognized as more than those of a new bronze medal holder?  I think they should ....

I think you just like to banter with me, though.  I like bantering with you, too, tbh, but here, I think I'm right.

#914728 Selling Fragmented Fragments

Posted by BadPenny on 11 January 2015 - 17:55

Selling our frags could have the same consequences that selling composed potions would.  It's too easy to abuse and manipulate this.  And, tbh, if I understand correctly, composing was designed to give us an item sink and gold sink, not for us to gain more profits.  I know a handful folks that don't compose with hundreds of thousands of commons (breathe. Chewy, dear), and they could make trillions if they could sell those.  We can sell the items and whatever stashes we run across, there is only a small profit margin there, but it does exist.  We don't need a new one.

Those who don't compose should start, imo, grinding is tedious and time consuming, but at level 11 I'm already making some very sweet and useful potions, not only for my personal use, but the guild as well...

Composing and our frags are pretty good as is.  The only thing we really need is a couple of buffs for composing and fragging.... one that gives a chance to double XP from composing,  and another that gives a chance of double frags from items  (make them bound specials, lvl 100, duration 60 min, cost starts at 25K each)... Call the first Master Alchemist, the second Salvage Boost (ok, my names are stupid, but the concept is nice)

Nope, and over half of them on my top 100 list are inactives or terms.  OMG, I FINALLY made top 100!

#914067 Location of spawning of seasonal titans

Posted by BadPenny on 08 January 2015 - 01:20

I just did that series of quests.  I knew to keep the strange man's rune, and to go back and do a quest somewhere between 475 and 495 that is a prerequisite to doing the second in this chain.  I think I mentioned this in the forum.  It would help, Big Guy, if the guide (or the quest we just finished) told us when we get a quest item if it is needed for a subsequent quest.  The wiki does have the information about these items, but not in the quests themselves, but in the item descriptions.  This informations needs to be cross referenced.  I didn't think to try to edit the questline description itself in the wiki though.

And, FYI, I also found another quest later on, that needed an item from the quest right before it (yeah, I fragged it).  This was Christmas day.  I sent a ticket, thinking I would get my replacement on Jan 5th, when the office reopened.  Hoofmaster himself was here December 26th doing those tickets, cuz I got my item, and he was the only Cow God logged in that day, or for a few days prior for that matter.

There's no sense in complaining about having to finish quests to get to titans.  There are silly little level 80 quests to get to the Land of Elements.  Two of the Halloween Titans have quests tied to them.  Krumpers also has a quest.  It's a seasonal titan, and if BigGrim decides to add a little challenge to make the items a little more precious, accept that there is a method to his madness.... I commend him on his creativity and having a knack for being able to tie all this stuff together coherently.

#914058 Speaking of Pride

Hey, to those naysayers, what 2, 3 of you?  I have 2 diamond no life medals, that I earned simply for being part of this community.  The rest, I put blood, sweat, tears and YES $$$ into. My smasher, dominance and bounty hunter medals also cost me many levels.   My medals should hold some kind of weight somehow, should give me more than just pretty pixels. Everybody else can say the same, even you.  We deserve recognition, and the level of our medals deserves it as well.  It's just a buff, naysayers, we're not asking for fireworks, parades or cash incentives, just props for our efforts.

#914046 Would or could it be possible to make a minor update(Arena Stuff)

Hmm, should I be hanging out in the arena and watching Brice?  Am I that mean?
