#1006874 Fallen Sword Roadmap (March - June 2022)

Posted by Windbattle on 11 February 2022 - 04:14

i would hope the 'new titan items' includes a few new recipes for the hunted cow titan, it is one titan keeping people checking in for throughout the day and adds value to the realm chests, low enough level that anyone can get in its range and kinda is a bit of a flagship titan bearing the hunted cow name on it.

The titan clears every 15-20 minutes it spawns. Not much chance for most guilds. They should remove the personal secure from hunted cow titan to give more chances to people. Actually in general, they should consider removing personal secures as well. Overall, the effect of having personal secures means a lot more epics come into the game and reduce its value quicker.

Doesn't the community normally say that epics have become worthless in value (over a short period of time) and we wish they would retain value longer? It made no sense to add personal secures into the game except to pad people titan medal and extra profits for people in large guilds.

The damage has been done for the current epics, but I hope they seriously think about it before releasing more titans.

I think they could come up with a new mid level titan (higher than the cow titan) that would be a resource (not savable with inventor 2) OR extremely low chance of success (savable with inventor 2) to make other epics.

Extremely well put EpicPiety ... about problems facing the game in the above message. I agree with most points.

I luckily got my bronze before Boats had it for 2-3 years.

#1006351 Guild Leader Chat Broke Again?

Posted by Windbattle on 03 December 2021 - 10:44

everyone should be moving away from game chats and create a discord channel. communication is much better on discord and you can control your notifications.

Discord is nice but you should have a properly working in-game chat and leader chat. I wish everyone would stop saying go to discord as the solution. Its not really a solution, its a fix.

That being said, the leader chat notification is working for me on chrome.

#1006332 Updating Titan Rewards Information

Posted by Windbattle on 03 December 2021 - 00:10

The titan rewards screen could be broken up into 2 pages like you suggested or at least put a (Month) in which is spawns in the game. that at least would queue you into it being a seasonal titan.

Totally agree on the scout tower shortcut in the guild tab.

Personal secures are mentioned nowhere and should be added to the basic information on the scout tower as a minimum. Plus, it would be nice if the game could track your personal kills to make that easier to track since you need to get 1st in order to get anything out of it.

I'm looking forward to the new potions. Let's go.

#1006134 Feedback and Suggestions

Posted by Windbattle on 09 November 2021 - 19:15

Something that's not been mentioned yet is the "new player" experience.

I tried to get my wife to play the game half a year ago. And she did for a while, but also needed help, all the time.

The game is hard to get into. And my biggest wish, after most of the bugs are fixed, is for this game to get more players. Here's a few suggestions based on what we ran into.

1. Consider adding more tutorial to the game. Not many questions are answered when you create a new character. How does all your stats work? How does combat work? How do you know that you'll beat a monster? How does stamina work? What uses stamina and how much? What should you do when your inventory is full? What's the goal of the game? What happens if you're carrying 5.000.000 gold while being almost naked and level 7? Little to none of this is explained to new players. They have to figure it out themselves.

2. Consider hiding/locking a lot more content away for new players. It doesn't take many minutes to hit level 2, 3, 4 and 5. But at these levels you have no idea if you should put your stat points to attack, defense or HP. You have no idea which buffs are good, or if you should save your points for level 25. And you don't have a clue about all the options you have in the menu. Crafting? Hell Forge? Blacksmith? Bounties?  Consider hiding these things until level 10, 20, 30 something. (OK don't lock the blacksmith, explain that one instead!)

3. Grinding is how you play this game. Quests give you XP, which is a bonus. But quests are just that. It's a bonus to your XP, but now how you progress in general. Problem is that you added so much stuff in the low level areas that you removed the need to grind entirely. You can get the first many levels by just doing quests. My wife got good at doing these quests. But all of a sudden there were no quests left, and she had no idea what to do. There was no mission and she was "stuck". Grinding hadn't been introduced to her as a concept. It's understandable that you can't quest your way through almost 5.000 levels of content. But with grinding being an essential part of the game, a tutorial should be given, showing that you can and should in fact just kill things until you ding the next level. The concept should be fed in slowly, so that you have to grind just a little already in the beginning of the game, more and more, until it's a regular part of what the player does in between quests. To that extent I would suggest litterally moving some of the low-level quests to higher level areas, or nerfing the XP rewards. It's ok on the lower levels if quests are 75% of the XP. Just as long as there's a little grind necessary between levels.

4. Speaking of low-level areas, they are the most complex areas in the whole game. Think about it. First real area you encounter is Mountain Path. And there's so many places to go, and so many things on the map. Compare that to a random level 1234 map which has two waypoints and a shop. You're throwing new people out on the deep end first. I would suggest that you move some of the fluff out of Mountain Path (And possibly other low-level areas) and put it elsewhere. Furthermore, consider adding a few more tutorial areas before you introduce Mountain Path. You go from a teeny tiny 6x6 map to a huge 18x18 map, and that's overwhelming. How about a 10x10 in between or something like that.

In essence it's all about making sure that you get to explain important concepts to new players while not overwhelming them. Right now, if you start the game from scratch you're thrown out on the deep end and there's not much to help you. It's pretty much just Kate Winslet being fat on a floating door, and it's impossible for you to get up.

Honestly a huge bump from me. I've been wanting this for over 10 years.

#1006131 Game Version 3.6.0

Posted by Windbattle on 09 November 2021 - 18:49

Hi there everyone.

We have several fixes in place we wish to let you know about!
  • The buff "Avert Gaze" is now functioning as intended.
  • The buff "Critical Hit" is now functioning as intended.
  • The buff "Distil" is now functioning as intended. It no longer pushes buffs beyond their cap.

Thank you for the reports that allowed us to track and fix these issues.

~ The Fallen Sword Team.

These 3 points trouble me. I thought the activation of Avert Gaze and Critical Hit worked fine. So did the activation rate go up or down? Its kind of ambiguous to say it works as intended now.

As for distil, you really should have provided a list of what skills are capped. I have never heard of such a thing in FS before. From the posts above, it sounds like UB 190 potion no longer is increased beyond 200 if used after a distil pot.

If you are capping certain buffs, then you need to change the distil buff description so its very clear what is or isn't capped.

Otherwise, the changes look good.

#1006065 Super Elite hunting - some tips

Would be nice to see more than the last 10 SE kills. The last 30-40 kills would be better.

Let's stay on topic, yes? Loyalty Potions proposal, not polls.

Not sure why everyone had to comment on the merits of a poll or not. I believe it is on topic BG. Let's take the remaining potion ideas with a few different levels / durations to the active player base in-game.

#1005688 Composing Template Removal

Posted by Windbattle on 06 October 2021 - 10:17

Even better - that would negate the need to delete templates at all ...

I would also like that option. If you level up composing, its time consuming to delete and remake templates for the skills that went up in level.

#1005493 Reign of Rosmeriat I

They are unnecessary buffs for any global creature..
and they make reckoning less efficient since when they hit on those buffs, which are unneeded and do nothing, they detract from the whole purpose of reckoning...

Every event you post YOUR list of things that YOU think are needed for it... Some are repetitions of what is already included in Egami's post, which is linked to in every news post of an event.

This would be great if you weren't posting erroneous misinformation as well...
Please check your facts.... I know you're trying to help, but giving bad information only confuses new players and irritates those of us who know better

Penny your wasting your time on them. They perpetually always think they are right on the forum. I've seen it on many threads and they will just keep arguing.

It is kind of funny when BG and several experienced players are telling him why hes incorrect and the rationale behind it. Then he comes back and say no your wrong cause thats what i've always done. It's very clear to anyone who understands the reckoning buff, that less buffs are desirable when frag hunting. You want reckoning to kick in on FI, Lady Luck, or Frag Finder mainly and secondly on conserve to save on stam.

Before using potions, have Brew Master (potion ideally), Distil (only available via potion), and Pride (only available via potion) to increase the duration and level of other potions.

Find Item (potion ideally) + Lady Luck (only available via potion) + Conserve (potion ideally) + Animal Magnetism (potion ideally) + Reckoning (potion ideally) + Frag Finder (only available via potion) (new composing skill)  -- All that is needed for frag farming provided your above level 100 (You may need stat raising skills to kill global monsters if below level 100, from what I recall).

Back to topic, I like the new take of a quest + global event. I don't think I've seen that before. The global event monsters gave a nice variety of frags. Successful event in my opinion.

#1005488 Composing Update (v3.0.0)

Posted by Windbattle on 24 September 2021 - 15:21

Hi Michael,

We believed the old method of sending messages to other player logs to be a bit dated and thought this system to be a smoother and cleaner way to do so. We may need to put in more work to tidy it up and improve its functionality, but we do believe a private messaging system is a better way to handle this going forward.

~The Fallen Sword Team

I respectively disagree and would like a toggle option to have messages go back into my main log. Messaging was done this way from day 1 and people got used to it. To be frank, unless you are selling or buying lots of items, your log isn't that cluttered. I think you guys should have polled the player base more before implementing this change.

Also, the "new message" notification takes you to your regular log currently which does not have your messages anymore. At the very least, could you link up the new message notification to your message box? I'm using the web version of the game, not mobile.

#1005413 Dark Curse & Arena Adjustments

Good job acting on what the player base was talking about. The Arena FAQ should be updated to say every 5 minutes between rounds now.

#1005399 Feedback and Suggestions

Bring back the chat messages to your main log. It may seem cluttered to some but the vast majority of players got used to this format and prefer it. Consider giving us the toggle option to allow chat messages to go back into our main log.
