When the client was new and you tried to get into the game during maintenance it just gave an error about login failed i think. Checking now there is a rotating golden balls thing lX4sENK.png which it pretty but not very helpful. Couldn't the client not poll a server and display something like

In your case it would be trying to connect to the server while they are offline. Basically there is a long time out on it where it's actually still trying to connect, but it may look like nothing is happening.

 

Currently we don't have any maintenance screens in the actual client and it's not something we are planning to add in the near future.

Well I am sure you have more than one server that you could poll  :)

Then if you were running over the time you stated you could change the hand to red and send it round again

 

OK so you are not planning in the near future but it would be VERY bloody useful  :)

Not sure on what is happening but would like some straight answers for a change changed routers and have not been able to connect to game comes up log in failed, that not possible I am logged in  but servers not seeing this and time out tried every link I can find in forums tried every server in both browser and client with same results getting very upset with not getting answers through forums or even  tickets I have sumited please contact me through an email that you can find in my profile

Game worked, changed routers, game stopped working.  Others not getting this particular issue.  Seems pretty clear it's on your end, in particular the router.

 

Check the router settings, particularly the firewall.

Q: I can reach the login screen but cannot connect to the server

A: If the server is running normally and we are not performing maintenance then it might be that your firewall/router/internet service provider is blocking port 7777/7778 which Eldevin requires to connect to the server.

 

(Note:  There may be other settings to consider as well.  I'm just reposting here.)

 

Guess.  Multiple stages to logging in.  You may be successfully logging into an authentication server, but then blocked when connecting to the game server.

Could you please reconsider this. I was playing the game so I knew it was going down but if i had just come along to play the game I would get all the loading core, running core, downloading starter pack, unpacking, downloading, unpacking and after 30 seconds i just get this.

This is not very helpful at all. Knowing how badly this is handled i have to now go to the forums to see if perhaps there is an update. And if there is try and glean from the post how long it will take. The post doesn't say so through experience i count the number of changes multiply by 5 minutes and guestimate how long it will be down.

 

You could make this easier for everyone if this screen said AT LEAST "Down for maintenance, back in 10 minutes" 

 

Instead I have to keep restarting the client just hoping that it is back!

 

Getting into the game shouldn't be an Eldevin Quest!!!!!!!! I demand my achievement points for bloody perseverance!!!
