Reminisce of the old times

When there was 1 Ladder which was dominated by DaFlunk (no reset "pew I can't reach it") you had ability to fight almost everyone when there was only buffs upon level 500 and 175 buffs was rare/uniqe
Back when players had FUN
Back when FallenSword was FUN
That's what I miss the most

You don't even have to look that far behind to see something lovely dies in game.

The old ladder system was flawed, unless you were in 5 level range of someone on it ( hard if the top players were EOC, or were lucky enough to catch them on the board, they gained free dominance LOL.
Remember when bounties were cleared by eoc for rating to climb the ladder? Heck even wars started over it. The band system gives everyone in a certain range equal opportunity to fight amongst players in that range.
I remember the days of watching someone hunt, then pouncing on them hoping to get some gold. Or the days of buying someones potions, then slappin em. Sadly, they are few to none now due to pvp protection.
The cows are beginning to listen ( arena, ladder, buff fixes) While i dont see many new players coming to this game, if the cows can right the ship... some might stay for a while longer.

I miss when normal days had over 5000 players on any given time. I miss a lot of the old players. I miss the way the guild conflicts were before rep points were included. I miss the times when you could hunt, go to the market place fsp requests in at 90 to 110k each and didn't have to wait that long before an exchange was made.
I also miss the times when forging and crafting gear was worth the effort.
 That's what I miss.

I miss everything back when i was a beginner... when giggles set was the coolest to wear. when guild wars were fun. when smacking someone on the bb 200 levels above you was cool (flunky i miss you) lol when people cared about others. When there was less drama.
It wasn't just about the set, but the quest as well. That made giggles that much sweeter to own.

I'm going to have to try that....

I miss when the cows fixes didn't screw things up more
Ah but were you around when a Cow's "fix" would shut the game down for days? Not something I want back at all...
I miss many things: the feeling that hunting was at least somewhat of a challenge. When getting a gurgis set was something I wanted VERY badly and would pay out the rear for it. When people who were asked to join a guild were greatful... my list goes on and on....

I was not here for the good old days, I have only been here for three and a half years. I am a noob.
If we can distil what was good, if we can identify what worked then and what does not now, maybe looking back would serve a purpose to make now better.
Game dynamics and complexity are much greater now than then.
Are we comparing apples to arctic hares here?

+1I miss this game being something I loved and looked forward to after a hard day of work and or school, not something to kill time.

I wasn't going to write up a big long post here, or really even post at all, but then someone made an appearance, so I gotta reply...

Hehe, just lurking.
Someone mentioned fs somewhere else and didn't have any idea who I was lol
So I thought I would check in and see how things are going.
Also logged into the game and quickly figured out I no longer have any idea how to get to where I need to hunt lol

A lot has changed since you left us to grow saplings. http://wiki.fallensword.com are both good resources. Feel free to PM me in game if you've got questions. Would be great to have some of the "back in the day" era players back. 8)Hehe, just lurking.
