Howdy fellow Eldevin lovers!

I have realized that this game lacks small advertisement to help population and popularity. I had an idea which would help and wouldn't cost very much at all!! <3

Facebook Event:

Players of Eldevin post a status describing Eldevin including fav aspects of the game and some of the cool content that has been provided by the devs along with a screenshot from ingame containing your character and vanity/pet/mount ect. Players be sure to include Hunted cows website link to Eldevin with a catchy line "Come join me and enjoy endless hours of  monster killing / production" and take a screenshot  of the status and add it in a comment on eldevin's facebook group page.

After a week of this event the staff view all posts and choose their favorites and reward with maybe Eldevin points or something like that.

This event would help increase population and popularity of the game and hopefully draw in new players and increase subscription / eldevin point purchases.

Any type of advertising would be great, unfortunately, getting the staff to take part in anything regarding Eldevin may be very difficult, as their priorities now lay elsewhere.

As you can see from Eldevins facebook page, The staff have not posted anything since the guild update last year, not even to inform people when the valentine, easter and summer events start. It is not that they don't like Facebook as the HCS page, is updated regularly, although it was soley about FS rather than everything HCS, and now is only posting about FS and the new game they brought out.

The word "advertising" seems to send shivers down the back of HCS staff, as the moment it is mentioned there is total silence from them, it must be the thought of spending money rather receiving it

When in doubt. Blame lag ;)

Thats to bad. Even if they found a trusted and respected player to assist with events on facebook ect. Im sure we have many players who still play who want this to succeed and are willing to volunteer time to help in anyway possible. All that would be require is communication with staff.

[Not directly related to OP topic, but relevant to the discussion]

The cost of effective advertising for games has really shot up in recent years, probably due to massive increases in competition to get players into your game. This has made it that much harder for smaller companies to find cost effective places to advertise. Which does suck a bit :P

The Facebook idea is a nice one though (but yeah we're all tied up in other projects currently).

What about finding a small selective group of players ( SP - support players) and have them think up events , talk among each other and do a google doc explaining how  it would work and done and have a staff set it in motion (would take maybe 2 hours with the right outline)

I think the facebook idea is worth alittle time into as its basically free and with people writing and designing would take little time by staff. It can do so much good for the game i think it would be foolish to ignore it

In the devlopment update post, it was said "Eldevin never quite gained the following it required for us to justify allocating our full development team to it". Don't take this the wrong way or an agressive question, I am just interested. I was wondering what was the plan to gain enough following to justify a team if it wasn't through advertising?

I'm sorry Lefty, but I do, as I'm sure you will have seen in other posts in the forum, feel strongly about this one. The staff manage to find enough time to regularly update Hunted Cows own facebook page, even though it seems to be a page that is soley about Fallensword and now the new game rather than everything HCS related.

https://www.facebook.com/huntedcow/?fref=ts

But when it comes to the Eldevin page not a single thing has been posted since last year, there hasn't even been mention of the events starting.

If the full support for the game as stated in the development post in June no longer stands, then let the players who are interested in the game keep the facebook page going, otherwise anyone who looks at the page will get the impression the game, like the page, has been abandoned :(

Steve you are a very smart man. I saw the page and was like what the heck is this. I took a leap of faith and checked the game out... and to be honest the game is addictive but the community ingame..... is special!. I have never been a part of such a wonderful community... Something needs to be done...

We cannot solely rely on the Devs to advertise, us players can do our part with either streaming the game on twitch or making YouTube videos and etc. I made a speed run page to hopefully bring in some new players, but i just need to do more runs since i only got like 2 up at the moment.
