So I've thought about having a FSP or/and Gold Upgrade for Mailbox time. For example currently it is 24hrs before item is destroyed in your mailbox. If you bought the Upgrade it could last 32hrs or more. I don't know exactly what the cost would be for each upgrade but I thought it could be useful for the players who constantly buy items from AH. It could be a little cool feature to the game that might save FSP for players if their computer or internet faces downtime and they cannot get their items from mailbox. This is just an idea that I thought of. Tell me what you think?
If it was so expensive, that it couldnt be abused, I wouldnt have a problem with this. 10k per Item level per hour extended?

Well this is an idea and it can be changed. But I did say that I don't know what the price will be so the community or HCS will have to decide on that one.

The biggest drawback is people wanting to use the extended time as an an extra backpack slot. I can agree with a short extension of time but only at a high enough cost to prevent abuse. Whether that's a really high fee one time or a pay as you go per item charge needs to be explored. Payment by item level isn't the most practical way to go since most potions are low level and pot sellers would have a big advantage. Payment by player level isn't fair either since it would punish those that choose to level up as high as possible.
Yes that is one of the first problems I thought of when I posted this. I guess you could either A. Put a max limit for time or B. Make the cost of upgrading high. There are probably more ways to prevent abuse of this but we haven't thought of them yet. But your point about potions is very true and payment of level isn't probably the best choice right now.

The only GOOD thing about the short time span is it gets rid of the overpopulated rare items.

One thing I never understood though why not just have items return to my bp if space is available? Then if no room have the mailbox.
Hoof has commented (or was it BG? - one of 'em anyways) that he likes that idea ... hopefully it'll progress from "like" to "done"

A high cost won't really prevent abuse - it would only limit abuse to the richer players. There definitely needs to be a limit regardless of price.
That said, I love this idea.

i dont like it simply because as it is you can post a listing for 48 hours and get 24 in mailbox,,,thats 72 hours between log ins and pleanty of time to reset it. Adding more time only encourages more inactivity

I dunno. If that's a truly big problem, then something should be done about the misuse of the AH as 48 hour storage. I don't care for that particular loophole, but I do like the idea of being able to get more time in the mailbox. I work strange hours on occasion, and often miss the mailbox time limit. Perhaps it could be done the way PvP protection is now dished out, a month or two months at a time, something like that. In that configuration it would be even less likely to be abused. The idea seems to be good, the nit picky little details can be worked out. +1
