For those that want to venture into multiple talent trees, it would be nice if the sets were broken into groups of 2 and 3. Put on both heavy sets and you get the same total bonus as the current heavy set. Put on the heavy set of 3 and the light set of 2 and you get smaller bonuses of each.
Smaller sets

full sets don't make much sense now. You get a few rare type drops and you have broken that set / will never use the set again. even more so, if you happen to get 1-2 heroics.
so would have 2-3 sets really help you? or would having 6 heroics still dominate?

I don't think there is any gear out there that lasts more than 3-4 levels before being overtaken by higher level gear. Having two sets would allow you to keep at least some bonus when you start to get better higher level gear. But also, it would benefit those using multiple talent trees with different bonuses.
6 Heroics? Really? Maybe at EOC after months and months of farming gear...
