Looking at the pic. I am guessing you can keep building on them up to a point?
Multiple tiers, yes.

Kind of intriguing what these might be for. But unless they have stamina gain now they are still useless. Being a stand alone item not part of any set it has no use in PvP.
I look forward to reading about what this entails when someone finds this fragile looking shop. If they are prepared to share the information of course.

Also great idea HCS! Are there plans to do this to other gear? Would be cool to be able to upgrade SE or Legendary gear like this! Maybe even make it untradeable after it's upgraded?

Like the idea... almost irrelevant if it's useful or not, lol. Thanks HCS.
@FS, been a long week... so not going to go investigating atm, but kudos to anybody who posts the loc. Best guess is the "fragile looking shop" is good... tavern might be part of it... and probably has to be from level 1 to a bit above the level of the Hammer itself.
@HCS... could we get a shop search that includes a level filter in the UFSG? ,oP
Good luck peeps! (o0

Surprised that existing Inferno Hammers in the AH weren't cancelled before this upgrade (as per usual) but not surprised to see the result from that LOL.
Shop is in Drake Haunted Peak, for those that want to know

Homer : Marge, don't discourage the boy. Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals .. except the weasel.
Eddie Izzard : The National Rifle Association say that guns don't kill people, people do. But I think the gun helps, you know ? I think it helps. I think just standing there going "BANG" - that's not going to kill too many people, is it ?
I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but it seems that everything I eat lately turns to poo ...

Note: The Inventor 2 skill does not prevent items being consumed with this recipe.
Really? Why should it not work on this recipe when it does on all others?
We've also worked out that the end recipe, tier 5, would need an insanely amount of inferno hammers. Perhaps some minor adjustment is required.
A good idea though in principle.

T1 = 3 inferno hammers.
T2 = 3 T1 hammers (9)
T3 = 3 T2 hammers (27)
T4 = 3 T3 hammers (81)
T5 = 3 T4 hammers (243)

243 hammers? Wow. For an item with +3 stamina gain.
I'm going to go with no but thanks.
Edit -
I don't wish to be entirely critical so I will say this. It is a good idea for sure to give another purpose to a redundant item. Great idea to use them in a recipe to have them used up and give them a value.
My constructive criticism is simply that for the latter tiers the resources required simply isn't worth the effort for what you get. I mean the very best tier is already worse than the Krakaradon Tooth Harpoon.
That's just my two.
