#922303 XP Loss By Bounty Hunter

Honor buff doesn't work on BB for defender, are you going to allow it for attacker or will they also be subject to full XP loss?

#921405 Quit setting us up for failure ..

Posted by yotekiller on 25 February 2015 - 01:47

People begged and pleaded for more and more events but now we are at event overload and people just aren't motivated to participate anymore.  I don't think the goals need to be changed, I think the motivating factors need to be changed so here are my ideas.

1)  Limit global events to twice per year and make them midway between the double XP events.  This would give us 4 major events per year, which is plenty.  It would also encourage people to participate and get those chests now because the next chance will be a long time coming.

2)  Change the reward chests to something like the Luxury Golden Chest with multiple reward options.  That way each player can choose the types of potion rewards they want.  Some may want a Cuty Ruby Box while others may want an Emblazoned Royal Chest.  By putting half the options in the spring event and the other half in the fall, each chest will only be available once per year but everyone can get the rewards they most desire from each event.  People could even mix and match which potions they want by choosing different rewards from each chest.

3)  Continue to give 2 extra boxes for the top 100 but award 1 extra box for 101-200.  This will provide some extra motivation for those with lower stam banks to shoot for a higher score.

I wondered how long it would take to go from bully to terrorist and now here we are.  Pathetic.

#920760 please extend pvp attack range

Posted by yotekiller on 20 February 2015 - 12:21

Many of those who want the ranges extended is in the group of players that like to bully other players and attack them only to provoke and harass in a legal way. I believe nothing good will come out of this and voted no like the majority and hope this will be left unchanged.

I voted in favor of increasing the ranges so now I'm a bully?  If you have proof that I have ever bullied you in any way you should contact support for their help in dealing with me.  Otherwise, your unfounded, public accusations make you the bully by painting me as something I am not in an effort to intimidate me and scare others.  Level ranges for pvp need to be increased badly.  I currently have 5 players in range thet are active.  5, and I'm not anywhere close to EOC.

#919707 25% Guild Rule In Arena

Posted by yotekiller on 15 February 2015 - 19:39

thousands of tokens in players arena storage...nothing they can put out will revive arena again...we need players...not things that keep players from joining..plain and simple..arena will no longer ever have something valuable to win...took way to long to get new arena prizes..every arena player that play a lot can buy tons of whatever they may eventually ( been 3 years since new arena prizes)...put out to buy...tokens are like tickets in a kiddie arcade..used for plastic toys....we need players...whatever can be done to increase players needs to be done..and more tourneys...2700 levels for 60 tourneys...very bad

Perhaps the real problem with the arena then is not the prizes but the lack of interest from the majority of players.  I don't play the arena because I don't have the time and money to be competitive, regardless of the rewards.  There are definitely some players who are arena pro's if you will and they dominate that area of the game.  I won just enough arenas to get my bronze medal but I couldn't afford to keep pouring a bunch of money into something with little to no return.  Yes that's a reward value problem but it's also a lot more complicated.  Are entry fees too high, especially given the value of the rewards?  Possibly.  Should the moves and how the tourneys are carried out be re-worked to even out the playing field a bit?  Possibly.  My point is that the arena needs something to make the everyday player feel like they can at least have a shot at winning something and get some measure of entertainment value.  Otherwise, they just won't bother to enter which is what we are seeing now.  There are no clearcut answers to this problem and the solution won't be quick or easy.  Whether or not the 25% rule is in place will not make or break the arena because it's problems are much bigger than how many people from one guild can join any given tourney.

#919628 What DON'T you like about PvP?

Posted by yotekiller on 15 February 2015 - 04:21

Yes. Everyone has the option to attack the untouchables, but why would they? They will be obliterated. Simple as that. I'm a little curious as to why the sudden push for more PvP activity. Perhaps the only PvPers left are the untouchables... I'm not complaining (well, maybe a little bit). But I'm speaking from experience. I remember being taught that certain guilds and players were off limits, lest I desire to be Deleveled out of the game.

(stuff)

Have you considered that you were taught wrong?  I keep hearing about these so-called "untouchable" players and/or guilds.  Why don't you take the time to learn for yourself what pvp'ers are really all about.  I did.  I have only been in my current guild, which seems to catch a lot of flak, for a few months.  Prior to that, I was in leveling focused guilds.  I dabbled in pvp but my main focus was leveling.  One day I realized that I could never buy my way to the top and no matter how hard I tried, I would never be able to outpace the rich players that could.  Leveling had grown tiresome and now it seemed there was little left for me to strive for.  What to do?

I decided to take a year off from leveling and explore all aspects of the pvp realm.  What I found re-invigorated my interest in the game.  I am by no means a pvp expert but I learned a lot.  Sometimes from advice and sometimes from the school of hard knocks but always with an effort to improve my skills.  I also took pride in never being intimidated by anyone's "reputation" (aka a bunch of rumors).  Guess what?  I wasn't de-leveled out of the game but I did make a lot of new friends and came to find out who the real pvp'ers were and who wasn't.

During my expreiment I came to realize that levels come and go.  They are just numbers and all the importance I had placed on them as a leveler now seemed more than a little OCD and irrational.  What really matters in this game are the friendships.  What difference does it make if I am the highest player, the richest player or #1 anything else in a virtual world (that means not real life) if I have no friends to enjoy it with?  Yes, levelers can make friends but the pvp'ers are the ones that really come together and interact with each other on a regular basis.  I have returned to leveling some but pvp continues to keep the game fresh and interesting.

Here are a few tips for anyone else that would like to try their hand at pvp.  For most these are common sense but there are always some that don't get it so here goes.  Always be respectful in your communications, just as you (hopefully) would communicate with people in real life.  Nothing gets people crossways faster than trash talk.  You wouldn't say those things to people you meet in real life, don't say them here.  Ask questions.  Pvp'ers are a friendly bunch and enjoy helping others learn about that aspect of the game.  Clear people on the bounty board.  Occasionally some jerk will counter bounty you for a 10 stam clear but you'll quickly learn who they are and clear them with 100's the next time.  Most people really do appreciate an honest 10 stam clear so just jump in there and do it.  Want to try your hand at "safe" pvp first?  Participate in gvg's where you will learn about gear and buffs.  Most importantly, have fun and enjoy the experience.

I don't like all the wild accusations of how terrible pvp and all who participate in it are.  Even one of the most vocal anti pvp'ers (chewsomething) told me that the majority of pvp'ers are honorable in their dealings yet all pvp'ers continue to be painted with the broad brush of scum of the earth.  I don't see people calling for all levelers or all merchants to be punished and have their preferred game style drastically altered because a few of them have been less than honorable at some point in the past.  Pvp'ers have a way of sorting out their own.  Those that are honorable will become a valued part of the pvp communiity.  Those that are less than honorable will quickly find themselves on the outside looking in.  Furthermore, what may have happened, or just rumored to have happened, way back in the day is past.  Let it go.  The game has changed and so have the players so let's focus on how things operate today.

#918755 PvP is DEAD???

Posted by yotekiller on 09 February 2015 - 15:54

Somehow I don't think Author is anti-pvp. It's been well established in this thread that he will continue albeit not against the certain player A nor probably anyone else in the guild. Not sure what message you are trying to convey aside from game rules are established and suck it up you losers and get a life. This thread is interesting as it pits those who love the old honorable system of pvp against those who advocate anything goes under current game rules. Essentially it's pvp vs pvp. Not your typical thread. One+ more year and I join the drama :)

Personally, I'm growing a bit tired of your EOC threats. You are never short of opinions regarding pvp and how it should work but never actually participate. I know, one of these days you're going to rule the world but until then, I say put up or shut up. To continually threaten about the always elusive someday but having zero experience on the subject just makes you look bad and spreads misinformation along with stirring up hard feelings. You want to be taken seriously? Jump into the fray now so you know what pvp is really like.

#917647 Done with quests

Posted by yotekiller on 31 January 2015 - 04:23

So once again I am going through a string of very expesive quests, 700K gold per level for a purchased item plus dropped items.  Once again, I had a failed invent with an Extremely High Chance of Success plus INV 1&2.  If that isn't bad enough, the purchased item was lost and had to be repurchased for another 700K gold.  I can understand some dropped items being lost because they can be regained easily enough but a purchased item should never be lost on a failed invent.  I know gold sinks are an important part of the game but you don't have to sink it all from me.  I wish I could say this is an extremely rare occurence but unfortunately this has happened to me several times.  This time was the last because I will no longer do quests unless the policy is changed to keep purchased items from being lost on failed invents.  I am also posting this as a warning to other players, participate in quests at your own risk.  As long as purchased items can be lost on failed invents, they will be lost, regardless of the supposed chances for success.

#916935 Rather than new skills why not make current buffs more powerful, or both?

Posted by yotekiller on 25 January 2015 - 12:36

Been suggested and rejected before.  175 is sufficient with all the gear and pots available to make leveling easier than ever.  Increasing power just means an automatic win button so no thanks, at least leave a little room for thought in the game.

#914545 Selling Fragmented Fragments

Posted by yotekiller on 10 January 2015 - 04:55

The market price for frags is not the only reason this is a bad idea and not even the most important.  The reason frags are bound are so players wouldn't create multiple accounts to farm and/or collect GE frag stashes and then send them to the main account.  This would effectively give multiple rewards to the cheaters.  Broken down frags and frag stash rewards need to remain bound.  The cheaters and scammers affect everyone's game play, even if indirectly.

#913291 attributes

Posted by yotekiller on 03 January 2015 - 02:20

Because of this stupid update, i accidentally added 1 point in armor because of lag. Why change something that already works? Or why not permanently show the input boxes regardless of the number of attribute points?

I think this update was done on purpose so people can make mistakes and be forced to spend 150 fsp to reset attributes. Well that's a sneaky move. You know things are going downhill when game companies resort to these types of tactics to leech $$$ from players.

Pretty sure the update was not a big conspiracy to take advantage of your impatience.  Good policy is leave a few LU points unassigned anyway just in case of emergency.  Lose a level or few and you don't have to sub-level to get them back.  One point mis-assigned or a few left unassigned won't make a big difference in your overall stats anyway once you get buffed up.
