Probably this. They fix one thing, break another.

Sadly this has become the norm.

In Topic: Empathy Skills and I Feel Your Pain Talents INCORRECT DESCRIPTIONS

without having an aggro count above our heads, how can you know?

I was informed by reliable sources that the aggro function was intentionally removed a while back because some players were crashing the servers by have two players cast empathy on another at the same time.

Anyhow, it also makes sense with what experienced the other day.  I was tanking ASV and told the healer that I would empathy him right before hounds came and to keep up his aggro as normal.  Yet I lost aggro on the hounds to him despite casting empathy (and having it fully speced).

Troll loot is still bugged.  If you are invited to the tagging group after it has been tagged, you will not get to roll.

Bump - Still Bugged

In Topic: Engulf

You mean this is a bug?????

Back when everyone was upset with the mage DPS in groups, before the change to Flamelash, I suggested this change as a way to improve the mage.  https://forums.hunte.../#entry881197. I didn't think it was a bug, not realizing it worked differently in PvP I made the nub mistake of believing what I was told in chat.

Even without the transfer of threat, this is a huge boost for the group PvE mage.  By casting it on the tank, it's essentially a 10 second AOE DOT.

I guess your post got lost in the shuffle.  :P Nor did the others reading it - or even those who "liked" it - think of the possibility that it was a bug.

I only recently started playing as a Mage so wasn't very familiar with their skills.  Nor does Engulf get much discussion amongst players.  And admittedly, it can be a bit confusing.  The confusion stems from the fact that it can be cast on the caster or on an enemy.  I'm not sure if there is another ability in the game with such optional targeting (friend or foe).  I was also confused as to whether it would damage the engulfed character as well (so long as that character was an enemy).

Mages typically want to fight at a distance, so it makes little sense normally for a mage to engulf himself.  Thus I'd been trying to figure out how it could be effectively used.  One obvious method is when there is a large group of enemies that the tank has grouped, simply cast it on one of them.  But when you are fighting a single boss, Engulf suddenly loses all its power, as casting on the boss directly won't harm the boss (something I just learned).  Thus, it would only make sense to cast on the tank.

What clued me in that it was a bug is that I was messing around a while back and cast Engulf on Slipknot when we were teammates in a PvP match.  So clearly it could be cast on a teammate.  But in a dungeon when you try such, it is placed on the caster.  There is no logical reason for this disparity.  And there is no reason that Engulf, far from an overpowered ability, would require such a nerf in dungeons. :)
