That skrillex sig looks a little familiar. Stop opening shops. Blah blah blah... you know the drill. Stop flooding this forum with stuff blah blah blah....

I think he did actually make that skrillex tag looking at it.

He most likely got the render of the logo and used that which is fine, the focal itself though is definitely Harvs work I would say.

I think Harv you are trying and indeed I have seen a little improvement in your work.
What I would say at the moment to you is forget about a shop, practice practice and more, well y'know, practice really. THEN do a shop when you have some good examples of your own work.

Stay away from ripping though, people will respect you a lot more, trust me on that.

though, imitation is a sort of flattery. ;) I'd take it as a compliment.

I agree with you on the flattery lol
It's when someone else starts claiming the work as their own that artists get not just a bitsy bit teed off a bit but a lot.

Harv, scrap this thread, work on your work and THEN astound us!

Harvey dude, I feel honored that you put me on your epic list, but it will take not days but more like weeks of practice to really hone some skills.

Follow some sig tuts (very applicable to avatars too), follow them closely, work at it step by step, develop your style.
No need to rush it out in the open, work on your own stuff first and the more you work at it the more you'll pick up pace but it is gradual at first.
So get to that place where you know inside that you can do a good job on what you do and can do for someone else THEN you'll be ready. You are making progress, just give it some time.

^ I highly recommend this one for gimp users.
The fx foundry which is a bundle of cool filters and the 130 gradients are particularly useful.

Sustorias thank you for the Gradients! :)

And Harvey, I've been doing Graphics for years now and I'm constantly being challenged to learn new methods and styles. I can't stress how much experimenting and practicing pays off. Just keep at it :)

Harvey, Iv'e been around for a long time. Iv'e come and gone throughout this forum. Iv'e even been absent for almost a year. But Iv'e always worked on my graphics. I know I'm not the best, especially when you compare me to artists like HaloArtist, Treefrog, and DarkDyablo. They are artists that I really respect the style of. But iv'e never tried to imitate them or such. I just aspire to be as good as they are. (or find out what kind of witchcraft they are using) Just take your time. Enjoy your work. If you don't enjoy a finished product, scrap it. That is, after some CnC. Comments and Criticisim is one of the most powerful things you can have when it comes to improving. It gives you a perspective of the person who is commenting. And that perspective can bring about a whole new world of creativity. Don't take this as a statement coming from a fickle ol artist such as myself, but take it from a person who loves digital graphics and enjoys seeing people get better.
