I am quite busy working on my laptop with Eldevin in the background. What would be really nice is a sound alert so that I can switch to the Eldevin window when I have been invited to a group to run a dungeon or any other reason that another player wants to alert me. Maybe I am waiting on a trade or something.

Maybe only let people on my friends list alert me so that I am not driven mad by idiot beeps. The name of the beeper would be in the chat window so I can see who beeped me.

Maybe it could work like whisper, i beep Raziel from my chat window

/beep Raziel hey punk we are waiting for you to do ASV

 

Raziel would get a loud beep and on his chat window would be

[20:53] ZeusIV beeped you - hey punk we are waiting for you to do ASV

 

It works a bit like that now. If someone is afk then you fire off a load of noisy spells to try to attract their attention but there is no way to know if it is for you. Your toon might be in the bank and every time you hear a loud racket you hop over to the Eldevin window to see if it is for you only to find it is for someone else entirely. /beep would be specifically to you

I kinda like this idea, but i don't think it should be on the other person to /beep you. Perhaps more like dnd works now. Were you could go into a /notify or /beep mode. And then group invites or friend /tells would beep on receiving (with perhaps a 5 second cooldown).

 

Because my friend list isn't always friends. And I'd hate to have to ignore ppl solely b/c they insist on beeping me every five seconds to try and get my attention.

 

Or perhaps set up individual notifications. /beepongroupinvite /beeponwhisper FriendName

I really like this idea, because I also go AFK while waiting for someone/something to finish. But then again, this system would need to work out some sort of cool down for this beep.

when they work on the super-duper new friends list they could give the option for individual beep tones for your bffs

I haven't had sounds on Eldevin on though since beta though.
