Disagree.

Folk just had other priorities. The overall kill count was up somewhat from previous Halloween globals, but it's MEANT to be a challenge after all.

The first year results :-

30.10.2012 halloween_zpsb54673eb.png Oidche Shamhna I 67,559,336 Ruby

The 2nd year results :-

29.10.2013 halloween_zpsb54673eb.png Oidche Shamhna II 66,255,625 Ruby

The figures for last year werent on the wiki unfortunately, but as you can clearly see - the kill count WASN'T unattainable - we just chose to focus on other things this time around.

I see your point, but now they also changed the way of thinking, no one was thinking "will be hard, but we are close, c'mon community, we can do it", when people saw 75/90M everyone started to think "we can't do it, not with so much things going on, I'll not even bother and use my stamina somewhere else".

Care to factor in the decrease in the player database?

Care to factor in the decrease in the player database?

Care to factor in that the emaciated fellow got you 5 kills, so, in essence, the overall target for Ruby could have been as low as 15 M kills ?

I agree there is a diminished player base - and that perhaps the formula for GE's could change, but, this year, we've hit the top tier (or the 2nd top tier) 8 times out of 9 so the targets ARE achievable.

Perhaps, like as others have said, the OVERALL kill count gets a slight tweaking, but the PERSONAL kill count required for each tier reward is incremented by a factor of 2 or even 3 ?

That way, those who get the top tier rewards have, at least, contributed much more significantly to it than in the current scenarios where a lot of players do the bare minimum and ride on others coat tails. I know I've done that in the past when I've had higher priorities..

Eddie Izzard : The National Rifle Association say that guns don't kill people, people do. But I think the gun helps, you know ? I think it helps. I think just standing there going "BANG" - that's not going to kill too many people, is it ?

I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but it seems that everything I eat lately turns to poo ...

Although we only managed to hit Silver Tier, but in overall, I still enjoyed the GE!

Thank you FS Admin team for throwing us this great event!

Cheers.

Just my 2 cents which may be all this comment is worth to most.  But here is how I see it.  For the average player in this game, the stam required to do the seasonal Quests, Hunt seasonal titans, Hunt the LE's in the realms, AND try and reach ruby tier for the global was just way unrealistic.  I mean, perhaps the fact that so many stam sucking activities were all going on at once might have prompted the LE's to have been released in the caves instead?  To ad insult to injury these global pots don't even stack up to ones easily bought or composed already?  When I saw the 75 million kills required to get to ruby in conjunction with everything else going on at the same time, I saw the writing on the wall.  It certainly didn't inspire me to blow all my stam on the global.  I had nearly 52K kills I think.  But I digress.  Point is, events like this should encourage the community and not deflate them.  As this one seems to have done.  It sure would be nice to take into account the stam factors from above and perhaps slide the scales a little further.  Not for my benefit mind you.  I already have a ton of unused globals in my BP as I don't hunt as often.  I would love to see those who tried really hard and with little stam to begin with.  It is these players who have been impacted the most.  Good Day.

I agree on a bunch of points made already; Too much going on, to actually achieve the 75 (90)mill required kills on the global. Some of us tried, and some of us went far beyond what was required - and still managed to farm LEs, zombie brews and do the titan quests (when they were still 400 kills per pop) - but, some of us have rather large stam banks, and was timing the stam build up towards the Halloween extravaganza events.

So, as much as it would do good for HCS to give top 3-5 their own HCS designed avys, or make 'em design the next batch of LEs - the rewards we got outta the global by going above and beyond, are free and those x2 ruby chests will come in handy, that is for sure. The x2 modest chests can be used for some minor PvP thingie, no biggie  rolleyes.gif

For those who complain about not getting more ruby chests, or none at all, well.. next time try to actually care and partake as if you mean it. Wanting top rewards for minimal effort suites noone!

Thnx for the event HCS, I do hope you make it more.. stam friendly next year around (maybe over a longer period of time).

As I posted earlier, those two totals were achieved with a 25k personal target. Based on numbers of chests in backpacks before and after, there were about 2000 people participating, which immediately gives the 50M global target for those two events.

Last year we only achieved crystal, and if I recall correctly, that was only achieved in the final push. I think last year also had a lower personal target.

And most of the ruby's we've achieved this year have had much smaller global targets than 75M - wasn't the zombie yeomen a target of 17.5M? And that one also has a 5-kill critter.

It is not at all obvious to me that what we have achieved in other globals has any relevance for what we could achieve in this one.

This GE was all about prioritising stamina use. If we'd have ALL just killed "Emaciated Fellow", the total kills required for ruby was only 15M.

BUT, we all wanted Zombie Brews, so we killed multitudes of "revenants" instead, for 2 kills each.

Add into that the new quests, the new LE's and the new TItans.

Folks spent their stamina the way they wanted to - who can blame them for that ?

The target WAS achievable, but we chose to do the event in a less efficient way ..

Where was stated that we MUST reach ruby all the time?

Somebody once said ¨He wasn't going to hand us a win button¨. One can disagree if he kept word in each part of the game, but it would be nice if some challenge would remain. Like in this GE.

We all have been spoiled way to much. Just keep the kill count similar like in other GE's. The fact that we have more things and more priorities only adds to the challenge!

In fact, I hope other GE events will have more options to spend stamina aswell. Tie a couple of titans/LE's to the other GE's aswell, and the GE's become so much more fun and challenging.

maybe next time around on this event we do not have the minimum kills to get ruby chests as 9k but the same as 25k .. as someone did point out that it is achievable with only 65 stam gain per hour over the course of the global ..

cheers

good event .. thanks cows

Next time we could tweak the personal target up, yeah. We'll see. I have ideas for next year.

This seems to be the M.O. when the good rewards are out .. Between screwing us over on the Ruby Cuts and the Vampirics .. I see the pattern ..

No flamebaiting please.

As for "screwing you over", sorry, but this event has worked like this for years. It should come as a surprise to no one.

If you only hit the Emaciated Fellow (counts as 5 kills), that's only 5k actual kills, which is usually the individual goal on other events. smile.png

Like I've said a few times. Readily achievable.

This is one of my biggest beefs with THIS particular event .. BigGrim has promised in the past that we would have hidden targets so that the people that did more than minimum but not top 100 would not feel so jilted... it was just untrue.

Actually, we said no to hidden targets. It'd stop people from partaking, not increase it.

the kill count WASN'T unattainable - we just chose to focus on other things this time around.

Exactly. I don't think it's a bad idea to have the players decide what they wish to focus on. Ruby in Globals shouldn't be a forgone conclusion.

I see your point, but now they also changed the way of thinking, no one was thinking "will be hard, but we are close, c'mon community, we can do it", when people saw 75/90M everyone started to think "we can't do it, not with so much things going on, I'll not even bother and use my stamina somewhere else".

That's not a change of thinking. Watch Global Chat every event and you'll see players saying it's impossible. Then they annihilate the target score in the final day. I keep a rather close eye on Global Events.

thank you very much for global event, I liking it

we could getting ruby if players stopping talking we can not get ruby and starting doing global kills

in global chat at beginning players seeing high million kills for ruby and they giving up

in next days in global chat players saying they not doing kills because rewards lower than crystal is bad and they not wanting wasting stamina, this wrong behavior is why we doing only getting silver

important thing is that rewards in global chat with ruby are epic chests

before I retiring years ago you could only getting epic chest with donating, now HCS giving us free epic chests and we only needing using our stamina for getting it, this epic chests are gifts from HCS, players wanting more and more

we only got silver but this global event having zombie brews that very important for players

kill for ruby was high but we could getting at least crystal like last year but it was community fault, not HCS that we not getting better than silver, looking at top 1 norzok, he alone doing 1 million kills, if more players like him then we getting ruby every time

there no rule we need getting ruby every time, be happy with event and have fun smile.png

every player getting from HCS 1 free potion with epic skill terrorize

HCS giving us this event many good things, thank you

If you guys think about it, there has already been a generous handout of ruby global pots this year. We achieved ruby in the new Easter global event (Extravagant Easter Basket / Lvl 600+ pots) as well as getting ruby in two Zombie Yeoman and two Darksun Reborn globals. These more than compensate for the 2nd tier we had at the last global event.
