I am at the stage of doing "Change for the people" (lvl22) and can no longer proceed with this quest until I reach the next character level(22 in this case) in order to get the next quest in the chain. This also appears to be so with "a game for fools" (Illaneska lvl 22) can not proceed with the quest until I reach next level to get "can't stand seafood". Unfortunately this is also so with "emissary". Now is it just me or should you not be able to complete a quest at your level but have to get to a higher level in order to complete a lower level quest!!! This seems to be illogical to me. Any shed any light on this please?

Those quests are essentially a table of contents for a quest book.  This can be more clearly seen with the right tab in the quest log.  If you look at the quest book 'Valiant of the Kingdom' -> 'No Joking Matter' or 'Valiant ...' -> 'Electioneering' you can see how the books work.

Another way to deal discover the quest book you are operating in - when you are looking at an individual quest, you have a set of red chevron buttons across the bottom.  This is the "book path" - and you can select the book that your quest is contained in, and see where it fits in.  The "table of contents" quests mentioned above are the first at the top and not indented - the contained quests are below and indented.

Oh yes all well and good don't like the implication that I can't read the quest log! You all still missing the point you need to be a higher lvl to finish a lower lvl quest as spock says this is illogical

No it starts at a lower level... Many game have ongoing quests that you need to be different levels to move on.. Any way get your level and move on with the quest.. This is not a new concept in Game... Been many like this for well over 20 years... And really this is not a BUG.... Not sure why you would even think it was....

So what I'm getting is that this is acceptable (maybe not a bug but retarded nevertheless) so I find out today after reaching lvl 22 that I still can't proceed with a quest obtained at lvl 20 (lvl 21) so that in order to complete a LOWER lvl quest I now need to get to lvl 23 (to get lvl 24 quest) so that is 2 lvls above what is supposed to be a lvl 21 quest. Just because other games have it doesn't make it the right way to do things. I'm sorry folks it just does not compute for me, seems you're putting the horse before the cart and having to push yourself!!! If you all think that is acceptable, then Heigh Ho so be it!!! No in fact its almost like your boss giving you a pay rise but your're not going to  get all of it until you've worked for another 2 years!!! Madness

Well a lot of Quests in the game are like that.. It is very Common.... Sorry you don't like it.. But I have been playing RPG games about 20 years it is Normal..... Maybe you would be happy with a auto complete Button for quests.... I happen to like the way it is on here.....

The idea of quests like these were that they would be "hub quests", so a quest to track your progress through the rest of the book. They have to be of a lower level because you were able to take them when you first encounter the questbook, despite the requirements of completing higher level quests further in.

We're aware of the fact that these kinds of quests aren't really highlighted well and we've seen it gives confusion to a lot of players. We're looking at ways to make these sorts of quests more obvious when you come across them.

We do appreciate your feedback, but unfortunately it's not a change you'll see overnight.

IMO improving this is low priority.  Once I understood how the quest log worked I found it easy to understand.  Perhaps just a line in the tutorial explaining about quest hubs when the first one is received?

If you do want to clarify in the log, either of these ~might~ be simple to implement.

1)  In early beta, some quests were marked as a range of levels.  A bit of a spoiler, but makes it clear.

2)  Change the quest name so that it [appears in  brackets].  That plus one line in the tutorial explaining what the brackets mean.  The physical name itself can be changed so (hopefully) no code required.
