Rain and windy. Pretty much the norm for Scotland. Man the wind plays havoc wae ma kilt

First real rainfall in ~6 months. hopefully no more drought soon. Dangerous going for hikes with the huge cracks in the ground..

We had a storm come through this morning, and it dropped the temperature about 40 degrees.

It is kind of overcast, there is fog, crouching dense in the trees at the crown of the hill, looking out my front windows I can see it wreathing the top of the mountain.   The air is a little damp, obviously.  The grass is growing greener, the crocuses are peeking their heads above ground and the trees are beginning to bud.

 

It is a balmy 56 F and feels the same. The high was 59, and it is supposed to only drop to 55 overnight.

 

My windows are wide open.

It was one of those mornings that hold the promise of a warm day. It has been winter a bit longer then usual here and spring is exploding now that it finally arrived. Still a bit of night chill in the air that is already heavy with the scent of cherry blossoms. The first rays of sun feeling warm on my skin once it raises and the sky has turned a bright blue after the intense reds of sunrise.

Another cold front came in, and we went from 80s to 40s overnight. Up only a little now.

Absolutely beatiful here. Sunny, about 74, not a single cloud. Just enough of a breeze that it never seems hot. And I'm just sitting here on the computer.

Darn cold front... And it's supposed to get down to 39°F tonight!  In May!  In Texas!

it is overcast but warm,  there's been off and on showers the last couple of days, Nice weather for transfering trees and plants.  Just put in a pair of forsythia in front of the house and seeded some allysum  in the turned soil.  Very tempting to work slowly at turning the whole yard into nothing but ground cover flowers so that it won't need to be mowed!

And it's freakin' awesome! 

 

Zuki, my plants are all planted, except for 6 peppers that I started from seed in little cups and have yet to transfer them to the big garden.

OH you're lucky!  I bundled up my recent transfers tonight because we're expecting a possible frost.  It was chilly enough today that I've had the heat turned on.
