I was able to solo the demon, with the use of some pots.

I found soloing the demon quite easy with a maxed DPS ranger (went through at lvl34 so didnt have the temple heroics either). Had to use one or two rejuvs and that was it.
Naked pirate will be back!

I did this as level 33 prophet and it was a walk in the park. Unfortunately it was a spoiler as I have not done any of the quest chain that leads to it. I should post this in the bugs forum though.

It was also easy at 32 as a Templar. I assume that, like a couple other quest chains, there are some bugs that let you take a quest before you should be able to do so. Putting things out of order. This has happened to me a couple times so far.

The Forbidding Isle? I went through with a mage and crafted gear at best, and I was never in danger. Didn't use pots, food, or anything else. Seemed rather easy. I haven't finished the quest line yet, though, as I'm still too low level.
