Due to large highjacking on a FS thread, I've decided to move the party over here!

First off!

Why are any HCS staff on this list? They do not log into legacy, they certainly don't create content for it as well despite what it says here.

Why was this original post 5 years ago even made? I don't think it was anyone's intention to actually work on the game other than Zorg. Hoof and Grim are terrific people, but got caught in the middle of something that they [probably] didn't even want to work on!

Major fixes of the last 2 years. Minor additions, greatly appreciated. Very little work needed for these things. Other updates involve a new NPC boss and new weapons (literally copy/paste code, change name and stats). The biggest update was hands-down the crystal system being changed. COMPLETELY revolutionized the game, everyone loved it!

What I'm trying to get at is that you can literally make the same content and stamp different pictures and numbers on it and the community would be THRILLED! It takes virtually no time to do and everyone is happy. In my eyes, there are 2 options you guys can go down to keep us happy:

1.) Make some sort of crowdfunding system to get updates added to the game. If we had thisyou guys would make more money and we would get the small updates we desire.

2.) Allow some of Legacy's playerbase who are handy with code and graphics to make the content for you! This benefits you because you will make more money engaged players, and you don't even have to do anything!

If there is a viable reason those options don't work, tell us why!

Now, a list of contributions from Grim and Hoof:

Hoof - 1 forum post.

Grim - 0 forum posts.

All this buyout has done to Legacy is provided a few forced updates and a different bank account for platinum purchases to go to.

This was Zorg's baby, and now its a repressed recurring nightmare sparked from mistreatment and I don't blame Zorg one bit.

And to finish things off, I did not make this a ticket as I know it would either be ignored or would be followed by a less than 1 paragraph response shooting me down.

Thanks for your time,

Matt

I have played all the HCS browser games except for CowPlay, since chess is not my thing. One thing is constant for most, there are small spurts of improvements from time to time, separated by long dry spells. FS gets more attention than the others to my knowledge.

I am new to Legacy, and I was horrified to hear a rumor that it will be allowed to die, much like Sigma Storm 2. I vaguely remember a Sigma Storm 1, back in the olden days.

I don't want Legacy to go the way of the Sigma Storms.

Please, Zorg, Hoof, whoever is listening, give Legacy and its little band of renegades, (including me) some attention.

I've seen many ideas thrown up in the main Legacy forums. Many are quite good, and the authors of some of them actually have the skills to implement them....

Give them a try..... Maybe Legacy can begin to grow and thrive again.....

It was all an ploy to get Zorg to join HCS, he is clearly an invaluable asset if he is made to work on other projects non stop. Not enough time for legacy? priorities man...

Whats more sickening is lack of zorgs commitment to legacy. "zorg's baby"  pftt

I also dislike how HCS are handling Legacy. You took on this responsibility, own up. negligence is no way for a company to handle this..

Just gonna leave this here. Cuz if HCS didn't even bother to respond to that or give Legacy any attention after that, then they have no intention of doing so.

All this will get is once again a small Zorg snippit post (if that) because once again, it's Legacy. Something that HCS itself had no intentions of putting forth a true effort to breathe new life into it.

Zorg was at FS (HCS) when I signed up in June of 2007
So he was already there before Legacy was

We are talking about a company here that neither want to sell the game, or update it.

The option to sell it, is there.

The option for people to work on it for free, is there.

And whilst we all want updates, and not just on this game... we all also appreciate HCS is a company, that has employees who need to keep making games that make money to pay bills. And over the years times have changed, technology has evolved and things that we're really popular 10 years ago are not as popular now. But they are not dead!

Hoof is sat there, and I genuinely believe he wants to sit and watch stuff just burn for the fun of it. Then go create new stuff, and expect all the people they have ignored and neglected from their entire series of games to go play it.

They will never work on Legacy because it doesn't make money, although the only aspect of Legacy that makes money (The Plat store) hasn't been updated in 5/6 years.

No amount of begging, reasoning or excuses will convince Hoof to give Legacy any amount of time it deserves for any desired change or attention, so I will stop here.

Thank you for reading Grim and Hoof. It solidifies the impending decision to stop all progress on Legacy. Next time you buy a game for a skilled coder, let the community know you have no intention to continue development of the game.

We are genuinely interested and engaged players and customers who want to spend time and money into making this game better. Let us do that.

If you check the main hcs login page now with the rotating big banner at the top. If I am not mistaken, legacy used to have one slot on it. Now legacy has none and the new game has 2 slots. The time has passed when the game had the numbers to apply any type of pressure/reasoning to hcs or zorg etc. If the legacy community ever could have to begin with anyway, it is debatable I guess. The boat sailed.

But this game could have been viable and guaranteed it did generate revenue over the years and those revenues were diverted towards others projects/zorg. People hopping on to support this new app game are simply encouraging the poor customer service hcs has, it keeps their current attitude going. The cycle continues and if the game takes off, goodluck to fallen sword next.

But on the bright side to help get the new app game off the ground, probably fallen sword and maybe even legacy will get thrown a bone to create good will and get others to try out their new game, eldevin might even get their lvl 50. I won't be ever trying or paying towards the machine anymore as history tells me it would be highly silly. But you guys might get something, who knows.

Ya'll do ask a bit much from Zorg. Should he pay more attention to Legacy? Probably, will he? Probably not.  HCS thinks that rather than improving old games, pumping out clones of the same game or other games is more important to try and save this sinking ship of a company. So we probably won't be seeing Zorg for awhile. Unless this becomes a whine thread in which we get enough people to complain that Zorg will do an update or something.

Do HCS staff even login to Legacy? Yes, they do. Me being a Guide in RC I can see when people have last logged in.

Hoofmaster lasted logged into Legacy 45 days ago, and BigGrim last logged in 207 days ago as of today. Does Zorg login every day? No, but he logs in very regularly.

As for why those promises never happened Matty. Either :

A) Zorg didn't want to fully relinquish his control over to HCS and decided that while HCS owned it, he wanted to make all the changes himself. But since he is a valued coder at the company HCS wants him to work on new games instead of improving old ones.

B) HCS didn't see Legacy as being that profitable after a while and decided to move on.

C) HCS saw Legacy as being profitable enough that they didn't need updates, but not a complete cash cow as to require updates regularly.

The only reason HCS even acquired Legacy was because they needed to hire Zorg, and Zorg having made his own game was a conflict of interest since it'd be competing with their games. HCS staff couldn't give a crap about Legacy players at  all, and haven't for years. Time to cut our losses and just accept that they never will care. Although I doubt this will be the last whine thread about Legacy.

I do agree with Matty that Coders from Legacy like Rod, Macey, and Aldo should be brought in (for Legacy only). Since at least then we'd be able to have updates/ bug fixes rolling in regularly.
