OOC: I hope Apocalypcon posts soon!!

The fighter seemed surprise to hear a voice on top of him, he looked up and saw a queer looking shadow.

"Like I said, who and why are you here?" Raven asked.

"My name is Redgar, and I'm on a quest to find out what is causing the evil in the forest, may I know who are you?" said Redgar solemnly.

Raven smiled, he had not expect the one called Redgar to be so calm, he dropped down beside him, and said,"I can tell that you are of no harm towards the Moon Elves."

Raven noticed Redgar looking at him closely, as if examining him.
Hmm... why is he looking at me like that? Unless... he can see my aura?

"What is your destination?" asked Raven.

"We are heading towards Girath's lair... to kill Girath, and retrieve a lethal poison that it generates in its body. Then, we have to use it against the corrupted elven lords." replied Redgar.

"Then I will join you, I too, wish to kill Girath and revenge my parents, and find out why the monsters of this forest have been multiplying greatly in numbers, and becoming more vicious. Everyday more of my people are dying." said Raven.

"Then it's settled, we gather the ones that are still alive and set out towards Girath's lair as soon as possible." said Redgar.

What they didnt know was that the Wolf Youkai, Atur, had listened to their whole conversation...

Redgar had initially turned around when he had sensed the shift in the Shades. Their direction was being altered by something closer to him than he liked. He stood with his axe ready listening for every sound his brain could process.

He could hear the air rushing around the battlefield… spinning to keep the shades contained to the area. It was a strange feeling. He had only left the area for 10 minutes as he looped along the ridge ultimately reappearing on the opposite side of the battlefield.

From this vantage point several of his companion’s auras were visible. He could only contemplate on how that could happen for a second before he was interrupted by voice from above.

Redgar looked up and identified the body associated with the voice. The moon elf spoke more eloquently and had no trouble articulating his objectives. This in a moon elf seemed very odd as both attributes were more or less unheard of.

Redgar spoke the objectives of the group… leaving his personnel agenda out of it. The aim was more or less the same. And any help from the moon elves would only get them to their objective even quicker as the local politics were beyond him.

****

Redgar nodded to the moon elf and advanced on the cyclone containing the shades to the battlefield. He caught sight of an aura he knew from his youth. It was from a time he could only consider another life.

Lea was unconscious on the very edge of the containment. A shade hovered as close as it could get trying to rip her soul from her. Redgar could see the tiny fragments of her aura dancing between the grasping blackness of the shade.

He grabbed her by one of her limp arms and dragged her 20 meters to the point he had met the moon elf. He held his axe ready with the other in the event another dwarf assassin emerged. He did not catch anything in the aura net he was casting but he did not want to take the chance.

He dropped her without a word and returned to the battlefield to look for anyone else. For a few seconds he had caught the aura of the crazy mage…

Torri ran through the forest, for some reason the spirits for the dead would not leave her, and she'd long since lost all her companions.

Help us....

Save us...

The words called out in her head, while flashes of tormented images and thoughts crowded into her mind making it impossible to see.

They want to make me as them, she thought, But how can I fight them?

Suddenly, the fog lifted from her mind, she fell forward and looked downwards into her own reflection. By luck, she's stumbled into Moonwell, sources of clean water sacred to this forrest. It seemed the spirits couldn't stand it's aura. When she turned around she saw the mutilated shapes that had been stalking her with outstretched arms. Quickly, she drew her bow from the sitting position and fired three long quarrels into the shambling shades, they fell.

Torri gasped, and lay there on the moss trying to catch her breath as light slowly filltered down from above. She had no idea where she was, normally a spirit would abide by the Moonwell, but she sensed no life here. Clearly what had infested this forrest must be an evil of the highest order, to force even the spirits of the forrest to flee.

She stood up, and filled her water pouch with blessed water from the Moonwell, before setting off into the forrest to see what had become of her companions.

The one named Redgar had nodded to him and started to look for the survivors, Raven had thought of bring some enchanted weapons so that the survivors could probably use it against the ghosts. Their mortal weapons were no use against these monsters. He called out towards the one named Redgar and said;"I am going back to my village to take some enchanted weapons so we can defend ourselves from the ghosts.. I can see that most of your party were only using normal weapons.

Raven begin to walk into his territory, thinking what type weapon he should take.

Maybe I should bring some magical runes as well.. that would probably give us some protection..

He was thinking too deeply, thus his senses were not at work. And something jumped him, making him fall to the ground, all he could say was..

"Ooof!!"

It was the Wolf Youkai that had blocked his way before, the same furry red eyed figure. Raven tried to push him away but it pinned him down to the ground, not even letting him move.

"How on earth could I forget about him?!" thought Raven. "No... I wont let him kill me if that is what he wants, I ca-"

Suddenly, his world went black.

As Raven opened his eyes, his body felt heavy and he felt dizzy, in a few seconds he remembered what had happened before he passed out.
Raven gave a grunt and sat upright. The Wolf Youkai had asked him when he opened his eyes but he could not focus on what the red-eyed Youkai was saying.

"What?" Raven said.

The Youkai told him again about wanting to join him on his quest but he asked whether the one called Redgar was a friend or a foe.

"Have no fear, he is a friend, not a foe." said Raven. "We are gathering the rest of the surviving party and then we journey to Girath's den. Do you want to help us?"

He looked dead straight into the Youkai's eyes, and told him that he was going back to his village to gather up some weapons.

If the Youkai would help us, he would prove a powerful ally.

The Youkai Atur turned and went to collect Redgar for him, in response Raven started his move to the village again. This time not thinking of what armor or weapon to get. His senses were alert now, and he was a little embarrased when Atur said that he fainted at everything that pounces on him. His eyes also seemed to be laughing at him. He walked slowly, his ears alert for anything. The sun was coming up higher now, in a few moments it would be noon, and he knew that by noon the monsters in the forest would come out to look for food. Then suddenly, two dwarf assasins sprung out of the bushes and blocked him. Raven shook his head, these two were just running to their death. Then there was a sound from his back, three more sprung out from the bushes behind him.

"Hmm.. at least its a bit fair now" Raven thinks, and grins at the
approaching dwarfs. He drawed his sword out from its cover, and positioned himself, ready for the attack. Then, the first two that had jumped out onto the path in front of him, jumped and swung their axes at him. Raven neatly side-stepped, making their axes crash to the ground and gracefully sliced their heads off. The other three gave a sort of scream, running at Raven with their axes in the air. In his confidence he moved at the very last second when the dwarfs axes came down on him, causing one of the axes to make a cut on his arm, and he dropped his sword.

"Oh darn, now my arm is bleeding and my sword is down." said Raven.

The dwarfs gave him their evil smile, and moved to finish him off, however, Raven still had his dagger. In one quick movement, he pulled the dagger out, and dashed through the dwarfs, neatly stabbing them in the proccess. The dwarf assasins dropped down, showing Raven that they had died. Raven smiled, and continued his walk back to the village.

Redgar returned to Lea and slung her over his shoulder and trotted after the magi Mr. Sniffles. He hoped the bouncing would wake Lea so he could be done with the girl. He thought about leaving her for someone else to find… but something inside him could not let her fate be left up to chance.

The foliage parted and he saw the aura of the magi. He cast his net a bit further to detect any enemies. His mind recoiled when it touched something coming up from the south… in a loud voice he shouted to the mage as he ran to cover the distance, “Mage! Get moving for those rocks!”

Something was going on in the distance, yet more sound of battle from the direction she knew a village was in, and something else in the south. Something much worse.

Could this be the thing that has cursed this forrest?

Torri wasn't sure which way to go at first, then, after a moments hesitation, started running to the south. She was making good time, dodging under leaves and over stones, and the bodies of more slain monstrosities. She thought she heard an Elf's voice. It must have been Redgars.

Just then she heard the roar, the earth shaking cry from something, some beast so foul that her very soul began to shake.

Girath

Picking up the final equipment, Raven heaved everything onto his back.

This would be enough he thought

He struggled for awhile because the things on his back were quite heavy, finally, he managed to balance the equipment on his back and started to move out. All of a sudden he heard a roar that shook the skies and the ground, a roar he only heard once from his childhood.

Girath

Raven's heart started to beat fast, the roar seemed to came at the direction where Redgar was, forgetting all about the equipment, he dropped it and quickly dashed through the forest, completely forgetting that Redgar's party needed some weapons, but there was no time to lose.
If they died here now they would not have any chance against Girath next time.. there would not be a next time. When thinking that Redgar's party would die at the hands of Girath, he tightened his fist, the images of the past stabbing into his mind. He remembered his parents, that were killed in front of him, his father fighting to the last blood to defend him. When at last his father fended of Girath, but suffered too many wounds and died right there in the middle of the forest. Adrenaline shot into his blood, his muscles gripped, and he was faster, stronger, he swore to himself that Girath would die,

No matter what the cost, be it his life or the forest. He would kill Girath

Redgar barely made it to the rock before the aura’s owner came into his sight. He was breathing hard and looked for the crazy mage which he could not find anywhere.

Redgar dropped Lea and waited on the rock… it stood 15 spans high and had a great view of the entire area. The thing was moving fast enough that Redgar knew he would never make any other cover.

He squatted resting his axe over his knees and waited for the creature. It was tall… as tall as some of the pines. And its coloring seemed to change as it ran from green to blue. To tell the truth Redgar thought it looked like an over groan lizard.

The creature roared again and jumped 20 spans into the air landing a considerable distance from where it started. It’s long tongue lashed out and ripped up a few trees in its path as it continued at an alarming pace.

Redgar tightened the grip on his axe. His position of height seemed less secure after what he just witnessed. It would be only a matter of minutes before the creature was in range… no doubt the display a moment ago was the tactics it would use to take him off this rock.

Redgar smiled and waited.

Again he heard the roar, this time, it sounded closer.

"Good.. I must be getting close to where Girath is" thought Raven

With every step he took, he was fueled with hatred and anger, something he knew he shouldnt do as it would turn him into something bad. But now he was too angry to think about what was going to happen to him, all he cared was the death of Girath, the murderer of his parents.

A clearing was just ahead, and he could clearly see something moving about there. He smiled, pulled out his sword, jumped on a tree, and jumped towards Girath for the kill. Only to discover that Girath had already known that he was in the trees, and it lashed its tail at him, knocking him and his sword into the sky.

Thud! He landed on the ground, but Raven was far from finished, he
picked up his sword and charged again. Swiftly dodging Girath's tail and tongue. His tongue! He waited until Girath's tongue was almost hitting him, and swung his sword. But as it happened, Raven had forgotton completely about its tail.

Thwack! Raven was hit with its tail and knocked him off balance, before he could react Girath's tongue was flying towards him, and it slapped his head, nearly twisting it. Raven saw Redgar on a rock and shouted,
"What are you waiting for?!?!! Come on! I cant fight him alone you know!"

Suddenly, a fireball appeared from behind the rock where Redgar was standing on, it was that elven mage that Raven saw earlier. It appeared that he was a part of Redgar's party.

Good.. we have a mage helping us in this battle, this will make things easier

He was hoping that more of Redgar's party would show up, and his sudden strength had began to leave him. But when suddenly the memories of his past stabbed into his head, his strength quickly came back. His eyes turned red this time, his face red too. It appeared that he had transformed into one of the corrupted, and he had absolutely no intention of changing into this... monstrosity.

He decided not to give in to anger and hate, but to stay calm and rely mostly on his allies, that would help him defeat Girath. Raven jumped when Girath's tail flew towards his face. [/i]

Redgar watched the moon elf and the mage engage the creature. He was not sure he liked being the target for such a creature. He sat on the rock and waited. He studied how the creature jumped and used its tongue and tail to distract from its claw attacks.

Redgar grunted… spared a look for the still unconscious Lea and leapt off the rock sailing the 15 spans downward to land on one knee and one hand. The jolt threw him to the side where he tucked into a ball and rolled to a standing position.

Redgar grinned from ear to ear and advanced on the creature with his battle axe shifting from the left to the right hand and back again. He shouted so everyone in the area could hear him, “CUT OFF ITS TAIL.” Without its tail the creature would be severely off balance.

"Cut of its tail!" Redgar shouted.

Raven grinned to himself, and moved to cut of its tail, however, Girath, it would seem, was not that dumb and was aware of the foes it was facing's ploy, and jumped around to avoid them from cutting its tail.

Suddenly, his sword shimmered, or rather, glowed a little, the weapon felt heavier, almost stronger. It looked as if the mage had casted an enchant weapon spell, making the party's weapons stronger.

Girath stopped suddenly, not moving for a moment, then jumping again.

So.. it seems it needs to take its breath too, Raven thought and he rolled his eyes.

Then moved again when Girath flew towards him.

OOC : Sorry for the godmoding
