as specter was running, he passed by rebtex nad marin. "the others know", said rebtex. specter nodded. he knew that this might be the last time he will do battle. and to die because of betrayal was the most dishonorable thing an orc could die. specter shook this thoughts away. he knew no matter what he would do, he would be still be put to death by the shadow lord. with that, specter resolved himself, he turned around and screamed. this was an orc's way of saying we fight to the death. from all around him, the soldiers screamed as well. the whole army as fired up now. "rebtex, marin, let us take down the shadow lord. we have to split our forces. the shadow lord has incredible strength, but even he would have a hard time fighting if we surround him and his forces. right now, those clouds are the mark that he has brought along with him his most elite soldiers. i do not know what race they are or how they fight for i have never seen them engage in battle before. but i do know this, they are the best fighters this world has seen. are you ready to face them knowing that death may come to either one of us?"

Marin nodded in agreement, for it was inevitable. That moment he did something that a ninja most probably would never do-he cracked his knuckles. Specter and Rebtex looked at him with a bit of wonder, as the human explained.
"This is a way to release aura into your fingers, that way your blows are stronger, and with enough preparation you can release that power into one devastating attack. Hopefully it works."
Apparently, the Shadowlord hadn't taken away Marin's power like he did to the elf Rebtex, apparently because he didn't knew of them. The human waited for the others to get a hold of themselves, so all of them could attack at the same time.

Rebtex had never taken time to properly enchant the knives before battle like he usually did because he knew he was more useful with his mind powers. Now he deeply regretted it as his blades had only a slight lightning aura to them now. They were certainly great blades but his ability as an asset had greatly deteriorated. Hopefully his speed agility and dexterity would give him the upper hand in a battle with the Shadowlord. Maybe just maybe if the Shadowlord was distracted enough his hold of Rebtex's power would break. Just maybe.

the orc searched around for the helmet that was taken away from him earlier. he found it inside one of the tents. unknown to most people, that helmet was not just protection and for goring, it also contained one of the most powerful magic that his ancestors once had. that helmet was given to him by his father, with the explanation that the helmet will replenish the users energy by using the blood from the enemies slain with its horns. the blood will also increase the users strength. the more blood, the more strength. that was the reason why specter was already a fearsome orc leader even though he was still considered a teenager. he placed the helmet on his head and at once felt the energy rushing in his body. he thanked the gods that the shadow lord had not known of his ancestry, and stood up left the tent wearing light armor, the axes lader gave him and his family's helmet. "i am ready!" he says to the others. " i will lead the forces heading straight for the shadow lord and his army." he says to the others with great confidence in his voice.

Rebtex was on the battlefield immediately. Charging at the enemy with all he had. He was ahead of the others due to his elven speed. His plan was to stall the enemies. Give his allies more time to organize their forces for a last stand. He would kill as many as he could while distracting as many as possible. The more confusion among the enemy forces the better. As he closed in on the the Shadowlord's forces he felt a flicker of mental strength. The Shadowlord was temporarily distracted and his spell weakened. It was a good sign. If he could do something big, something radical it could be enough of a distraction to break his hold. If he could get his mind back he could multiply his usefulness many times over. But for now, fighting awaited.

Marin knew Rebtex needed time to focus on his powers, so a proper distraction was in order. He circled the opposing forces until he reached a point, where if he attacked, everyone would pay their attention at him and not at the elf. The human took a few last breaths and attacked. He stormed through the enemy horde, usually hitting every foe only once, but the aura in his hands caused that single blow to have the effect of twenty. Suddenly, the opponents started to pile up on him. After a few moments, Marin couldn't be seen, covered in evildoers. Everybody watched in suspense as to what was going to happen. Suddenly, a blue light began to spring out from all holes, and then the pile of undead was blown back from a strong force burst, knows as Hadouken. Out of the light, Marin emerged, grinning proudly.
"Finally, I did it."
The Shadowlord was as impressed as the human was of his own achievement. But more importantly, the cardinal evil was distracted now, this was the chance Rebtex was hoping for.

Immediately Rebtex mentally fought off the Shadowlord's spell and had his mind back. But he didn't know how long he would have it. His first priority was enchanting his blades. If the Shadowlord took his mind again he would need them. He put several auras on them. The one he put the most energy into was Chain Lightning. It would be very useful with such a big horde of enemies. But he also made sure it had several other auras. He didn't know what kind of resistances the creatures had and wasn't going to take any chances. When he finished enchanting his knives he started in on the Shadowlord's forces. Their minds were impenetrable. He brandished his knives and summoned his elemental powers. He would just have to do things the old fashioned way......

As the others sought to distract the shadow lord and his forces, specter, along with 100 or so warriors marched straight towards the center of the swirling black clouds. the sky was becoming darker by the second. soon it was so dark, they could not see ahead of them. “what is that?!!” shouted a soldier. ahead of them, there was just blackness. a second later, thousands of yellow eyes stared at them. if it was not for the frightened gasps and screams, specter could have sworn he heard a thousand voices growling at their direction.

The aura on Rebtex's blades barely pierced the darkness. It seemed it fought back against the light. He summoned light to his hand and tried to see the enemies but to no avail. He would have to get closer. As he got closer he saw some of the beasts the Shadowlord had at his side. A dragon that was rotting and forcing others to rot with it. A glowing pink Xind Demon that glowed in sparkled in the light but smiled devilishly at the thought of killing. A woman that seemed to be made entirely of wood. And the most frightening appeared to be an elven tree nymph with twin blades and spiked hair. She was the most combat experienced warrior in the group except the Shadowlord. He headed towards the elven nymph. It angered him to see his kind join forces with the Shadowlord. He started by knocking the blade out of her left hand. It went flying into the crowd striking another of the Shadowlord's minions. "Two birds one stone", thought Rebtex. He was in deep in combat with the elf. Though she only had blade she managed to block all of his attacks with it. He wet for a fake side lunge and blasted her with fire as she went to block the attack. He had burned her face and chest and her once spike hair was singed and matted down. He now had the upper hand. And he would use it.

Lader was completely surrounded along the very few surviving humans. Encircling them were the remnants of undead and several minions of the SL. Surprisingly next to him were the limp knight and the Golden Helmet knight. All around them bodies fell one after another.
The sky turned darker and darker almost concealing everything in darkness. Regardless several hundred feet away stood the Shadowlord just standing there. His face concealed by a sinister mask.
"Rumpus quod effrego ut pulvis. Fulcio mihi per magis vires ut ego adficio animus of meus hostilis"
Dark surge of energy trickled down his sword. With godly speed he took out one after another in a blink of an eye.
The sky turned darker and darker almost concealing everything in darkness. Regardless several hundred feet away stood the Shadowlord just standing there. His face concealed by a sinister mask.

As Rebtex side stepped an attack to his left side he strikes the elf with the flat of his knife right on the left temple. He stands of the elf ready to slay the abomination when suddenly a tri-headed milt-colored lizard toppled him over. He turned to faces the ferocious creature. As he does the elf takes her blade and stabs his leg. In a fit of rage he slices her throat and goes towards the lizard wounded but ready for action.

Althoug it seems the others were doing well, specter was having a hard time fighting the creatures. he had killed only five of them yet he was already exhausted. he wondered why the incantations on his helmet had not work. he checked the helmet and his axes and found that not a single blood was to be found. the creatures, it seems, have no blood. as specter faced his 10 creature, the creature had successfully struck a blow on him. bleeding, specter struck the creature and it disappeared. specter was struck on his right arm. bleeding profusely, he struggled to fight the overwhelming creatures. but it seemed that the blood was acting as a magnet for the creatures. a second later, specter was covered by dozens of creatures.

As the giant lizard lunged at his left side he brutally stabbed the right head. As he creature howled in pain he blasted it back with fire. He then sent stones flying at it as he jumped into a tree to avoid its gaze. He cast a quick healing spell for his wounds and jumped on top of the great lizard and stabbed its left head right through the eye. As the head died he jumped off the creature and they circled each other. With just the last head left Rebtex sealed his success with a throe straight into the forehead. As he felt the creature die he summoned the knife back to his hand. It was then he felt a mental attack from the Shadowlord. Whatever was distracting him before no longer held his attention. He quickly put up a mental shield and fought back. Realizing the Shadowlord's mind was much too strong for a counter-attack he focused on shielding his. He sent random bits of energy here and there hoping to draw his attention but he stood firm. He needed a plan. But at the moment he needed his attention elsewhere.
