OPEN RP!

Rules:
1) Proper grammar and punctuation is preferred.
2) Properly introduce your player in the same format I use below before joining.
3) No god characters. Unbeatable players not allowed. Have a weakness, get tired. It adds to the fun!
4) You can have multiple characters but make sure to keep the stories straight.
5)This story is based largely on the official FS backstory. I suggest becoming familiar with it BEFORE you join. You can view it here - http://forum.fallens...&t=3846&start=0
6) Keep Godmodding a minimum. I realize it is needed sometimes but for the most part try and refrain from playing other peoples characters without their permission. If someone goes inactive and their character is crucial it is fine. Powerplaying is frowned upon as well.
7) Have fun! This isn't serious jokes and such are allowed and welcome.
8) I do reserve the right to ignore peoples posts that don't follow the rules.

Here we go:
Character Name: Rebtex
Race: Elf
Age: 17
Fighting Style, Weapons, and Dress: Very reserved and cautious fighter. Relies on agility and speed instead of brute strength in a fight. Is a very talented Hand-to-Hand fighter. Has a lot of stamina and can outlast all but the toughest of opponents. Has two twin elven knives approximately 10 inches long and have a slight curve. Wears no armor of any kind and unlike his fellow kinsman despises bows. His main weapon is his mind. He is a very talented wizard with a knack for psionic and elemental attacks.

The story:
It was a cool clear day in Elrad. The small town was lively and fun. He had just exited The White Stallion Inn when he saw a dark cloud in the distance. His first thought was a storm but then he saw how rapidly it moved and the way the clouds twisted and swerved as if in a silent fury. The rest of the town went about their business and didn't notice but Rebtex knew what it meant. They had heard that the Shadowlord was closing in on the Elven continent of Mirdan but to be this far in already was a sign. The Shadowlord was unstoppable. He raced through the town alerting the residents with his mind. The people were not fighters. Most of them had never held a weapon before in their lives. With half the town's men drunk it would be a massacre. Their only chance was to flee while they had time. He saddled his horse Abo and rode west. He couldn't stay behind. He had been summoned earlier in the week by the Elven King Linlaos to meet at Fortress Lanslil. He had planned to leave today anyways and he had to make it there. The King told him it was of the utmost importance and to come as quickly as possible. It was a tough ride through the Shadowlord's territory but he had to make it to Mora.

As Rebtex continued east he realized the Shadowlord's forces were moving in. He telepathically sent emotions and feelings to Abo. It was a broken sort of communication but it showed Abo the urgency needed and he gained speed. He did quick calculations and figured he would meet with the very west side of the Shadowlord's army. He pulled out a blade and put it in his right hand as he held the reins with his left. He put the other blade in his mouth. He would be prepared for the Shadowlord's evil minions. He soothed the horse with his mind. Abo was a courageous horse but the size of such forces unnerved him. It unnerved Rebtex too but he couldn't reveal that to the horse.

name: specter
race: darkness
age: unknown
Fighting style: use of shadows
Weapon: his shadows
appearance: a mild mannered man. wears sophisticated clothes. his face is always hidden in the shadows, but a dark red light shines from one of his eyes.

“stop!” commanded a voice from his left. Rebtex stopped his horse, wondering what the voice was. he was not able to detect the presence of the voice’s owner. “I am a messenger sent by the shadow lord to the people of this here city. the lord prays you throw your arms away and bow down to the lord. he promises on bloodshed if his demands are met. but if you choose to fight he swears none of you are to live. i know you plan to fight elf but hear this, whatever you are planning to do will surely fail.” a gust of wind passes and the man was gone.

"Ha" thought Rebtex. The Shadowlord couldn't be trusted and no good-hearted elf would bow to such a miserable, vile wretch like him. But he saw this as an opportunity the attempted negotiation would halt the forces and hopefully allow him to pass unhindered. He rode forward with godspeed as he wondered just what the Elven King wanted. He knew his father had served in the Royal Elven Guard but had fallen at Liwen during the first battle of the Shadow War. He had never known his mother so he lived in Elrad alone. As he pondered this he barely noticed the lone patrol of the Shadowlord's forces approaching. He had already sheathed his blades and just had time to dodge a blow to the side when he snapped back into reality. He quickly dismounted his horse and shot the Orc back with a bolt of psionic energy. He unsheathed his knives and started in. His first move was a blow to the temple with the hilt of his right knife. Then he quickly made a wide gash in the Orc's chest. As he was about to slit the Orc's neck he felt a throbbing pain in his left thigh. He looked down to see blood gushing and an arrow sticking out of him. He pulled the arrow out and said a quick healing spell. The spell was mediocre at best but would have to do for now. As he looked in the direction of the shot he saw another two Orc's riding towards him. He quickly dispatched the one crawling around by his legs and prepared for round two.

OORP: Specter please use proper capitalization if you can.

As Rebtex saw the riders in the distance he sprinted to meet them. His lack of fear frightened them. When the first one was within ten feet Rebtex launched himself towards him and snapped his neck. The second stopped in his tracks. Seeing his companion dead and the still bleeding Orc in the distance he turned and ran but Rebtex concentrated on his horse and forced him to buck off his rider. As the Orc layed on the ground dazed he stabbed him in the throat. He ran to Abo remounted himself and continued his ride. He knew they had cost him precious time and concentrated all he had on urging Abo. He sped ahead and saw that with a stroke of luck and a few mind tricks he could avoid more combat.

As Rebtex sped ahead he closed his eyes and linked himself with Abo. The horse could sense his surroundings quite well. He could feel disturbances around him. That was why he chose him at the stables. He had felt something different in him. Something that to this day he couldn't put his finger on. He dodged any areas that could hold orcs. A ditch here, a large boulder there. Another fight would ruin the hole he had. He rode forward and saw a lone figure far in the distance. He didn't know who or even what it was. Although the sun was behind Rebtex the figure still seemed silhouetted. He rode ahead not knowing what to think but being for certain it wasn't a good sign.

As he went ahead in the distance he stared down the figure in front of him. He was ready for any attacks that might happen. He was zoned in. This was his expertise. Fighting was what he did. He had trained relentlessly with his father before he went to war. He cleared his mind of everything but the figure. And that was his mistake. The Orcs came from nowhere. He was flung off of Abo in seconds. As the horse raced into the distance Rebtex got up stunned. He looked for the shadow in the distance but it was gone. He was a fool. Of course the Shadowlord would set traps. But now wasn't the time to beat himself up. He shook loose the last shock from the fall and surveyed his surroundings. 3 Orcs were upon him with more in the distance. As the first one launched towards him he dodged the blow and clipped his shoulder with a blade. He struck the next Orc with a lightning bolt killing him instantly. He turned to the third one and was surprised when he was met with the flat of the Orc's longsword. He went down instantly. Dazed he stabbed the orc through the leg. The orc howled and pulled away taking Rebtex's knife with him. The orc with a clipped should came back with a large piece of wood as he could no longer wield his claymore due to his arm. Rebtex parried the first few attacks but on a wild swing the orc hit Rebtex's knife straight on and it stuck in the club wrenching it out of Rebtex's hand. He shot back the orc with a psionic bolt and his head hit a rock with a sickening crack. He was dead. He turned to see the last orc stumbling toward him with his knife still in his leg. He summoned the knife to him and threw it at his forehead. He fell to the ground. Rebtex quickly retrieved his knives and mounted Abo once again. The other Orc's were getting closer but they could never match Abo's speed. He had cleared the Shadowlord's forces. He now started the dangerous trek to Lanslil.

As he crossed the barren wasteland that was once a lively and prosperous place he thought about all the destruction the Shadowlord had brought on his ancestral home. He rode on in the general direction of Lanslil he again worried about what he would find there. The Shadowlord had marked it as an area to wipe out in his campaign. He rode over the ash-laden ground with a sense of urgency. He smelled the smoke in the distance and surveyed the land before him. Something was off. He couldn't place it but there was something wrong. He pressed Abo and sped through the rough terrain. He contemplated whether or not he would pass through the mountains near Amdar. The Orc force there was massive and he didn't know whether or not they had joined with the Shadowlord's main force yet. Even if they had passing through such a hostile area would be dangerous. After much thinking he decided he had little choice. He had to reach Lanslil quickly. And to circumvent Amdar he would have to circumvent the entire mountain range.

As he spotted the rough mountains in the distance he thought long and hard about what he would do. To attempt to just go through Amdar without any planning would be suicide. He sat for awhile and considered his options. He considered hovering him and Abo over the fort but after looking at the heavy defenses and sensing hundreds of Archers on the guard towers he though better of it. He considered teleporting but quickly tossed the idea aside after he thought about the concentration of dark magic at Amdar. It could easily sense the amount of power it take and kill him or take him prisoner. Then he had a flashback of his training. He had had a brief lesson on changing physical appearance. He remembered that to take the appearance of a humanoid creature he had to find one to base it off of. He considered how he would go about this. The one he would take the appearance of needed to be alive. Although it would be an Orc he still didn't like the idea of leaving something hidden alone to die. But it was something he would have to do. He could never trust an Orc, so there was no other way.

He set up behind crescent moon shaped rock. He took a shard from the mirror that had shatter in his pack and propped it up on a rock. He then sat and waited for an unfortunate Orc to wander by. Although he could sense the Orc with his mind he needed the mirror to tell what weapons it had and its exact location. He waited for a while and then felt a consciousness touch his. He set up the trap and jumped the Orc. He quickly disarmed him and broke his leg. He tied the Orc up and dragged him to a nearby cave he had stumbled upon while exploring. He took him into a hidden crevice and strapped him to a gargantuan stalagmite/stalactite that had formed together. He then linked himself to the Orc and took on his appearance. He Took the orcs clothes and weapons. He his his knives in his pack and practiced with the brutish sword. It was heavy and unreliable but it would have to do. He then set off for Amdar.

He looked over the rocky ledge about 50 yards from the city. He watched the buffoons ramble around drunk and stupid falling over each other. He spat in disgust. He scouted the main entrances and exits. He switched back into his orc form and yet again had a feeling of disgust as he looked through unseeing eyes of an orc. He put on the dirty rags the orcs called clothes and walked to the main gate with broad sword in tow. He stopped at the guards and said in the best orcish accent he could, "agreena asa maqi". Let me pass. The guards gave him a quick glance but in their drunken state didn't even notice the stand outish pack or the remarkably cleanness of him. He passed through the gates and went to the first tavern he saw. There he stayed the night.

Character Name: Tokshir
Race: Orc
Age:72
Fighting Style, Weapons, and Dress: He is a mage with extreme precision, able to cast spells simply with his hand, but mostly with his staff in which are his memories. He is able to cast basic spells like; fire, water, and ice, and is also proficient in dark magic. He wears a long robe, and always carries his staff with him, it seems to carry a sort of trance.

The next day, Rebtex woke up to the sound of beating hooves, a splash of rum landing on his face. "Yum," he exclaimed in delight. He sat up, spying a stray orc, top hat looming over. "La agros toshar mu Tokshir, gody sa vashir?" I am Tokshir, and you?

No problem with you joining but this is mostly medieval. I would appreciate it if you chose a more medieval character.

Sorry, edited.

Rebtex squinted, eyelids drooping from the restless night. Realizing that there was an orc inquiring him, he strained his throat attempting to draw out his orcish accent. "Vasho agros mu Rebtex," he sputtered, unable to hide his elven tone. They call me Rebtex. Tokshir laughed with a strangled tone, rum froth spouting from his mouth. "Nahka he no orc duka elf. Sahkim no fahr, va du juga la halph." I can tell you are not of the orc race, little elf. Do not fear, I have come to help.

Rebtex shifted out of his orcish form. He cautiously drew his knives with his still covered left with such care the orc wouldn't notice. He reached out with his mind and found the strangest thing. The orc's mind was different. It wasn't foolish and left open to the world it was covered and hidden. Rebtex gently pushed his mind toward the orc's to test his mental capacity and found his defenses hard as a rock. He stared blankly into the orc's eyes. Never faltering, never showing fear. He knew the all the mind games, and he was going to use them. Until he knew the orc's intentions he had no intentions of letting his guard down.

Character Name: Link
Race: Hyrulian

Age: Somewhere in his later teens.

Fighting Style: He is a natural born fighter and a hero, he waits for the perfect moment to strike when the enemy has their defenses down, dodging all of the incoming attacks at the same time

Weapons:A sword that was forged out of sand that controlled time, and had massive power over evil, a bow an arrow, a massive hammer, an enchanted boomerang with the power of wind bestowed upon it, bow and arrow, bombs, a magical leaf that you can use to hover with for short periods of time, a magical tablet that can protect himself from all attacks and tip his arrow tips with freezing ice, but at the cost of his stamina. A massive steel ball attached to a 15' chain, and a set of clawshots to grab onto various things.

Dress: A green tunic, a gold ear ring in each ear. He has a steel gauntlet covered in tough leather on his right arm, and golden gauntlets. His leather boots are knee high, concealing most of his Kacie pants. His sword sheath is leather with a strap going from his right to left with a golden buckle. He has a belt going across his waist keeping his tunic from going up when fighting. He also has a green "santa hat" that has been handed down for generations from the Kokiri.

*Link wanders out from behind a stack of crates* Tokshir stated in now elven language that Link was here to help defeat the Shadow Lord to save his home country before it is attacked, the three then sneak out of the room and start to leave the mountain range, trying their best to avoid any orc ambushes.

As Rebtex saddled Abo his hand never wandered from his side where he kept his knife. He said a quick enchantment over it to mend the edge from it being stuck into the branch. He also stored electricity in the blade. Enough that it would knock out an enemy but not enough to kill him. In the other blade he put an enchantment that would make it be drawn to dark magic. That way he wouldn't have to guide it. He had done this many times with varied success. It had even saved his life before. His main reason was to see how much of a pull it had toward his newfound companions. It seemed to have a slight draw to the orc but not much else. He eyed the orc carefully. Something about the combination of an orc and a wizard unnerved him. Orcs were evil by nature and to put magic in their hands could have catastrophic consequences. He still couldn't understand his companions motives. There was something that had remained untold. How did they know who he was? He wondered back to the orc in the cave. He was almost out of the range of Amdar so he sent psionic energy to kill him instead of letting him starve to death. He than put a rest to his magic. He would need it if he came to realize his companions had ulterior motives.

Perfect commercial break.

OT:
While the new companions travel they find a shortcut through a gorge, so they travel down it. While walking through the presumed short cut Link asks Tokshir how he managed to break off from the stereotype on an orc and become a wizard, but suddenly a band of three dark elves and an ogre jump out to mug them. Link quickly jumps into action shooting the three dark elves with his bow and arrow fatally wounding them while Tokshir lights the ogre on fire.

Alarm. That was the first word that came to thought as Link inquired of his history. Bloodlust seared and Tokshir reared on his haunches preparing for Link's famous arrows. Luckily, Tokshir was saved as a band of oncoming dark elves attacked, eyes shining with hunger for pain, slashing mercilessly. Link easily broke through their main defenses with a quick spread of arrows which were ignited by Tokshir's flames. Rebtex then swiped through the rest with ease. As he lunged straight through the last, he realized that Specter was silently observing from the wicked shadow of a nearby elder tree. A dark shadow consumed the light and Specter let out a malicious cackle.

Rebtex cleaned and sheathed his knives. Quietly he re-enchanted them. He was getting tired. The magic was draining him. The others looked tired as well but Rebtex felt like he might fall over. It was different. It felt like something was draining him. He had used magic like this before but the effects had never been so terrible. Before he could think to much on the subject he fainted to the ground.
