Templar

Born for Combat - 50% increased threat generation.

Ferocious Taunt - Brings your Taunt cooldown to ~10 sec which is great for dungeon bosses with threat wipe or target change mechanics.

Mage

Mental Agility - 18% spell haste.

Master of the Arcane/ Essence of Magic - I'm undecided between these two talents.  Currently testing 1 MotA and 2 EoM.  Previously had 3 MotA.  MotA would benefit Incinerate, Benediction, Ignite, and Bizzard, in addition to the ranged auto-attack (since it's based on spell dps).  Probably recommend 3 MotA.

Focus - 10% crit buff.

Flash Freeze - Reduces Frostbite cooldown and gives move speed increase.

Icy Touch - Allows you to keep mobs perma-frozen for using Blizzard solo, or avoiding damage while re-casting Benediction during dungeons.

Prophet

Focused Healing - 10% increased spell healing.

Beacon of Light - 20% (stacks 3 times for 60%) increased mana regeneration.

Lasting Supplication - Buffs both heal-over-time spells.  Enables perma-Benediction with enough haste.

Empowered Healing - 6% spell haste.

Enlighten - Mana regeneration buff.

Salvation/Expunge/Soothsaying/Think Fast - Currently running 2 points in Salvation, but Expunge might be better.  Soothsaying is currently a waste but is rumored to be necessary for the level 45 dungeon.  Think Fast has some serious potential (combine with Dogma and Focused Mind in place of MotA/EoM), but I find it unnecessary at the moment.

Dogma - Good for healing naughty party members.

Sanctuary - 15% increased damage absorption for Redemption.

Deliverance - 3% max health healed per second for Redemption.

Aura of Tranquility - 6% of your max health healed every time you heal a target.

Divine Intervention - 30% damage reduction for targets inside Benediction.

Gems

*Fill your armor with the best Onyx gems you can afford.

*Almandine or rolled +spell haste for essence.

*Sapphire or Topaz for weapon. (Agate if using Think Fast + Focused Mind option)

*Peridot or rolled +block for shield.

Attributes

*3 vitality : 3 sorcery (117 each at level 40)

Tips

*Use a staff while soloing.

*Don't forget to keep an eye on your teammate's health.  Throw them a Redemption, Rejuvenation, or Dogma when needed.

*Start trash pulls with a Blind + Benediction (Frostbite first if necessary) after casting Righteous Defense, Redemption and Rejuvenate on yourself.  Start boss pulls with Ignite after using Redemption and Rejuvenate on yourself.

*Alternate Righteous defense/Redemption and a Rejuvenate before refreshing Benediction during boss fights.

Good build. What are your endgame stats/what armor do you use? AoE farming viable it seems, but can you tank it solo?

Light armor for Mental Agility's haste benefit.  AoE farm with frostbite and blizzard.  Not sure what you mean "tank it solo"- this build covers the role of tank and healer for dungeons leaving room for 4 dps players.

"it" being doing the job a standart full blown templar would... but it seems so. Will you not take more damage however? from bosses i mean (and aoe farm, altho i doubt when aoe farm that'd be a problem with the buffs at hand for damage reduction

It does bring up the point that Snowfall is a crappy end-talent when compared to Benediction.

Loaf,

I have a question for you about skill and weapons used... (I noticed that you said that you use staff for solo and that using Ignite etc.) I am trying to make a warpriest similar to that which I have played in Runes of magic and DDO online. There are marked differences between each game and this and wanted your thoughts on this. First of all, I started as warrior, and then after looking at this thought about warpriest type char that I have mainly played...

On the issue of weapons, I would generally use axe/shield and these would also have magic stats. Swords, axes etc. here do not seem to have similar properties. Also weapons have different effects, eg hammer might slow, axes have bleed effects - not so here. In short, it seems that I have to use a staff (and look like a mage). Do you use a staff in instances, or X/shield combo? If so, what effect does that have on heals?

On the issue of armor. I wear cloth. In DDO I could wear heavy, but in Runes of Magic it was cloth. Only cloth seems to have sorcery stats added, whereas in the other games I would look for gear that had combo of say strength and magic properties. Wearing cloth does not bother me, but it seems to have gimped my melee a bit just to keep my heals at an adequate level as opposed to useless.

Also, when you say tank/healer, I generally think of knight/priest (K/P) as opposed to P/K. In the other games I have also played with priest that were tanks cause their vitality was high enough to take a beating.

I guess I am asking what weapons do you use when not a 'staff' such that it does not impact on your heals as well as keeping  damage at an adequate level? Or do you just use a staff?

I am determined to make this build work - that is, a cloth based melee char that can also off-heal.

Thanks,

"Class": Warpriest (thats my aim). Professions: Cooking lv16 - (self sufficent atm) that includes farming, fishing, foraging etc. Alchemy (lv10) - by product of cooking when gathering mats don't sell. And mine for money.

Loaf does not play an ymore

Though his build is somewhat viable is a bit outdated, Benediction took a HUGE nerf.

Regards.

This was also before the spell cooldown increases, when you could perma-freeze with Frostbite and Icy Touch.

Be really nice if Loaf returned someday.  Until then, I'd love to hear from a current heal-tank how the changes affected you, and what you've done to compensate.
