A - 7/10 Nice piece, good detail. The text needs work and the light source over his neck is unnecessary

B - 7/10 Another nice piece, could do more with the depth on this one

B - 8/10 Best 2 of the bunch!

A - 4/10 I like that the artist tried to be original (not use a typical "Zeus" image) but it's too blurry, not enough detail and is just not up to par with the other entries.

B - 8/10 Well executed and an excellent use of resources

Pretty nice work by all.

 

1. A: 7  - Great artistry! Distinct and well compiled

    B: 8  - This one grabs me. Not so complicated but pleasing to the eye.

 

2. A: 6  - I like the colour scheme but the pic doesn't quite grab me.

    B: 8  - I love this one. Would prefer if the L/R edges were lighter but it works for me.

 

3. A: 7  - Too much light washes the colour and detail out. Would prefer a sharper detail.

    B: 8  - Nice work. Clear & detailed. Too bad I don't care for the pic.

B ) 5 - Sorry but I don't see as much work in this, and it seems too similar to the original image, though I do like it.

A ) 8 - i like this more out of the two, though not that keen on the text or border.

B ) 4 - gah too much light behind him, takes the focus away too much sorry.

A ) 3- This could have been SO much better, far too blurry and no sense of true focus. Text just don't fit either.

B ) 6 - Again feel it could have been better, far too much washed out on the right, detracts from the piece.

This is just my opinion, sorry if you think it's harsh. I think all the artists have done very well to reach this far in the contest. Good luck to all.

Liked these two the best out of all entries. The ancient mayan/aztec marginally better then Zeus.

Nice use of clockworks on 2a, 2b could have used a little stronger Egyptian motif in support of the main figure.

GROUP 1

A: 8/10 --- Really like all the elements and how they blend in together. Text needs work.

B: 8.5/10 --- Love the lighting and the splatter brush use. Also good thing you took away that bird. Text brings quality down.

 

GROUP 2

A: 8/10 --- Like the overall outcome of it but I feel some of the elements should have been more blended into the background. Text needs work.

B: 8.5/10 --- Awesome job with that render, light source was obviously needed behind that head, but it's overall a bit too bright for me. The subtext shouldn't be there imo.

 

GROUP 3

A: 5/10 --- Good idea and efforts put out there. Execution lacks here and makes the piece look blurred. Text needs work.

B: 7/10 --- Nice colors but seems like there is two totally different parts to this work (right and left part of render). Doesn't seem right to me. Text needs work.

 

 

Overall nice ideas, nice effort, nice work.

Work on your text guys! Keep it simple and not too far from focal point so you don't create a second focal (render and text).

B     7/10     This one was pretty cool too. I like the lightning.

A     10/10    I really like this one.

B     6/10     I like the idea, but for me the light was too bright and the darkness was too dark.

A     7/10     I like the creativity with the resource, but I think the final product is too blurry.

B     9/10     This one looks really good too. I wish the "strength" and "power" were highlighted in the piece.
